My Whole Class Isekai'd to a Xianxia? Good Thing I Can Do Mind-reading

Chapter 142: Have you ever done anything that wasn’t stupid?

Qian Niu watched the screen showing his daughter and Feng Fan together, his face twisting with fury. Though he wanted to scream, he clenched his jaw and kept it inside.

'I hope that bastard meets a horrible death in this competition!' he cursed silently, his teeth grinding in frustration.

Then a thought struck him. 'Feng Fan had provoked plenty of enemies during the last category. Hopefully one of them will kill him off before the Dao Seeking School can intervene with their teleportation system.'

'I should've told Hou Mengyao about him,' he thought, his eyes narrowing. 'If that brat knew about Feng Fan, he wouldn't hesitate to take him out on sight.'

"Fan'er, you're aiming for first place, right?" Qian Xiaoli asked.

Feng Fan nodded, and Qian Xiaoli sighed softly.

"Fan'er, it's not that I don't believe in you, but first place seems impossible. Hou Mengyao is already at the 7th Golden Core Formation realm, and you're still at the Foundation Establishment realm. His Sword Dao is also strong. Even if you were at the same level, you might not be able to beat him…"

Feng Fan gave her a wry smile. Even if he wasn't a match for Hou Mengyao, he had no choice but to try.

"Xiao'er, thanks for worrying about me," he said with a warm smile. "If that Hou Mengyao is after you, that just gives me even more reason to beat him here. Either way, since I'm in this, I can only aim for first place!"

Qian Xiaoli felt a warm wave inside her but still narrowed her eyes, pretending to be angry.

"Hmph! Who needs you to deal with Hou Mengyao? I can handle that pest myself!"

Feng Fan, who could hear her thoughts and see her blushing face, chuckled knowingly.

"Sorry! Sorry! You're so strong and brave, anyone who tries to woo you will suffer a thousand deaths!"

Qian Xiaoli rolled her eyes. 'If that's true, why are you still alive?'

"If you're aiming for first place, you must be going after the white orb, right?" Qian Xiaoli asked.

Feng Fan nodded. "Exactly. Because of the large point difference, whoever gets the white orb will be in first place."

"Are you heading straight for it?" She asked.

Feng Fan shook his head. "No, I'll gather as many orbs as I can. When there are only five days left in the competition, I'll head to the center and try to reunite with my sect. If I find any of them before that, we'll team up and collect orbs together."

"I see. How about we work together, then?" she proposed.

Feng Fan looked surprised. "Aren't we competitors? Why would you want to team up?"

Qian Xiaoli smiled. "As long as the Qian family places in the top three, that's good enough for me. I'll help you get first place since that's what you want, and in exchange, you'll give me enough orbs to get into the top three. What do you think?"

Feng Fan put his hand on his chin, thinking. He wasn't worried about Qian Xiaoli tricking him, but he didn't understand why she wanted the top three.

"Why do you want to aim for the top three? You don't seem to care much for the Qian family," he asked, trying to figure out her reasoning.

"I made a deal with my father. If the Qian family gets into the top three, he'll announce a divorce with my mother," she said with a determined look.

"Ah!" Feng Fan exclaimed in surprise. "I see... So that's the reason. In that case, I'll gladly work with you for the next two weeks, wife!" he said with a smile, extending his right hand for a handshake.

Qian Xiaoli didn't accept his handshake. Instead, she blushed slightly, embarrassed by the fact that people were hearing Feng Fan shamelessly call her his wife.

"Who said I'm your wife? You still have a long way to go," she said, trying to hide her flustered reaction.

Seeing that Qian Xiaoli wasn't going to accept his handshake, Feng Fan simply withdrew his hand and smiled, unbothered. "Alright, let's go."

Feng Fan activated his spiritual qi vision, and soon, many shimmering orbs appeared in his sight. Most of them are red, with a few orange ones. 'Their value is so low that I can't even be bothered to gather them…' he thought.

"Let's move closer to the center. We won't find anything valuable around here," he said.

Qian Xiaoli nodded in agreement. The judge had mentioned that the most valuable orbs would be found closer to the center.

Feng Fan began moving away from the white wall, Qian Xiaoli following right behind him. Through his spiritual qi vision, he also noticed a few demon beasts scattered around.

'The demon beasts here seem weak, all of them low to mid tier 2 demon beasts,' he thought, analyzing their strength. 'Let's try to avoid them. They're not worth anything anyway.'

It was true that the demon beasts didn't give points, but most of them were near orbs. Sooner or later, Feng Fan would have to face them.

The only reason he wanted to avoid them now was that the orbs nearby weren't valuable enough to catch his attention.

"Fan'er, do you have any plans in mind?" Qian Xiaoli asked.

Feng Fan didn't stop moving or look back as he answered. "Let's ignore anything below green. If we find green, blue, or indigo orbs, we'll take them. But if we come across a violet orb... I've got the perfect plan in mind," he said with a sly grin.

Qian Xiaoli gave him a curious glance. "What do you mean by a perfect plan?"

Feng Fan chuckled. "Don't worry, just trust me. Have I ever done anything stupid?"

She rolled her eyes. "Have you ever done anything that wasn't stupid? That would be a better question."

Feng Fan laughed and kept running. "Hehe, just trust me on this one. Not only will we rack up a lot of points, but we'll also strike it rich!"
