Chapter 138: Cut Those Ears Off Since They’re Useless
As Elder Jiang handed out the wristbands, Feng Fan stood nearby, rubbing his sore ear where the elder had firmly gripped him earlier.
Huang Xue, quietly observing from a few meters away, suddenly drifted into a memory.
—
"Huang Xue, when the boy you like is in pain, you need to give him some attention and care," Song Shu said with a serious expression.
Huang Xue tilted her head, curiosity lighting up her eyes. "How do I do that?"
"Simple. Kiss the spot where it hurts and tell him it'll get better soon. Oh, and don't forget to give him a hug. Boys love hugs."
She paused for a moment, sneaking a glance at Huang Xue's figure. 'Especially if they're from someone as big-boobed as you,' Song Shu mused privately, eyeing Huang Xue's mountain peaks.
Huang Xue nodded earnestly, committing the advice to memory.
"Oh, and don't forget to smile more!" Song Shu added, recalling a crucial detail.

Huang Xue's face lit up with determination. 'This is my chance.' Continue your journey with My Virtual Library Empire
She approached Feng Fan, who was still distracted, and gently placed her right hand on his face.
"It's alright. Let me kiss it so the pain will go away," she said softly, leaning in to plant a light kiss on his ear while caressing his cheek.
Feng Fan froze, utterly stupefied. He hadn't seen this coming. 'What just happened?' he thought, his mind racing.
"Uh, t-thank you, Huang Xue," he stammered, still processing the situation.
Seeing Feng Fan's gratitude, Huang Xue's heart swelled with joy. 'It's working, just like Song Shu said!' Her face brightened as she smiled.
"No problem," she replied sweetly.
Then, she placed her other hand on his head and pulled him closer, guiding his face to rest against her chest. Feng Fan found himself bent slightly at the waist, his head buried in her soft, comforting mountain peaks.
As if the crowd around them didn't exist, Huang Xue began gently stroking his hair.
Feng Fan couldn't help but sniff. 'Floral scent, not bad, not bad!' he mused, momentarily enjoying the situation despite its awkwardness.
"Huang Xue, what do you think you're doing?!"
His brief moment of peace was shattered by a voice cutting sharply through the air.
The temperature around them seemed to spike as Feng Fan's eyebrows shot up. 'Oh no… Qinqin!' he thought, his stomach sinking.
Without wasting another second, he quickly stepped back, creating some distance between himself and Huang Xue.
Huang Xue's face fell slightly as Feng Fan stepped away, but she quickly turned her sharp gaze to Xue Qiang. "He was hurt, and I was helping him," she said, her tone calm but firm, as though stating an undeniable truth.
A vein visibly throbbed on Xue Qiang's forehead. "He's mine. Don't touch him," she snapped, summoning a spear into her hand with a crackling surge of temperature.
Huang Xue's eyes narrowed. Not one to back down, she summoned her sword and activated her cultivation technique, her aura flaring in response to the threat.
Feng Fan, sensing things spiraling out of control, quickly stepped between the two girls, raising his hands in a placating gesture.
"Ladies, let's calm down! We're on the same team, remember?"
"Get out of the way!" they snapped in unison, not sparing him even a glance.
Feng Fan froze, dumbfounded. He began questioning if he was even the cause of their argument since he was being completely ignored.
Just as the tension reached a boiling point, Elder Jiang's voice cut through the chaos. "Enough! You two, stand down! Save this nonsense for when we're back at the sect."
The commanding tone left no room for argument. Both Xue Qiang and Huang Xue hesitated before reluctantly putting away their weapons, their energy fading as they stepped back.
Feng Fan let out a sigh of relief, but it was short-lived.
Elder Jiang turned his stern gaze on him. "And you!" he barked, his tone sharp as a blade. "Did what I told you earlier go in one ear and out the other? Maybe I should just cut those ears off since they're useless anyway!"
Feng Fan gulped, a nervous laugh escaping him as he scratched the back of his head. "Ah, Elder Jiang, no need for that… I'll be more attentive next time!"
'How is this my fault?!' thought Feng Fan indignantly.
Elder Jiang, clearly accustomed to Feng Fan's antics, chose to ignore him. Without wasting another word, he retrieved three wristbands from the box handed to him by a Dao Seeking School disciple and gave one to each of them.
"When I finish distributing these wristbands, I'll call the three of you over to discuss strategies for the upcoming battle," Elder Jiang said curtly before turning and walking away to address another disciple.
Feng Fan watched him leave, silently wondering why trouble always seemed to follow him—even when he hadn't done anything.
Or so he believed.
After Elder Jiang finished distributing the wristbands, he exchanged a subtle nod with another elder who came along with them for the Young Generation Competition.
The other elder, who had been quietly setting up an array, activated it with a flicker of a sleeve. It was a tier 4 soundproof array, designed to ensure complete privacy.
Given the precarious situation their sect was already in, they couldn't risk their plans being overheard and making matters worse.
"Everyone, let's begin discussing our tactics for the Combat category," Elder Jiang announced, drawing the group's attention.
Feng Fan turned to Elder Jiang, his expression neutral, as the sect members gathered for the discussion.
"I believe our best approach is to focus on collecting the less valuable orbs," Yin Jian, the Sect Master, suggested. "Given that most sects will target us the moment we're spotted, advancing toward the center will be nearly impossible."
His words caused many to shift their gazes toward Feng Fan, frustration evident in their eyes. The blame for their precarious position was unmistakably directed at him.
Noticing the growing tension, Yin Jian cleared his throat firmly, bringing the focus back to himself.
"We've achieved excellent results in the first three categories," he said. "Even a mediocre performance in the Combat category will keep us in a strong position overall. There's no need to panic or lose focus."
