My SSS-Rank Class Is Blood Monarch!

Chapter 367- God’s Gate (Part 5)

*The Void*

"Sigh, I suppose it's time to leave now. Everyone is here, right?" Standing in front of a large group of people, Arthur spoke, his hands in his pockets. He was eyeing every single person there and registering their faces just in case he needed such information later on.

Next to him was Yonathan's second hand in command and the man who can speak Arthur's language fluently.

"They're all here. We have counted every individual." The man said.

"Counted? How did you count so many people in a few minutes?" Arthur turned to the man with a confused look on his face. It had been barely 10 minutes since he left the shelter, and somehow, the man counted the people present in basically no time.

"I simply counted them through the clicks." The man replied calmly.

"The clicks?" Arthur frowned. "What's that?"

But, instead of getting a response, the boy received a sudden demonstration as the man turned around and stepped forward. Then, using his tongue, he made a clicking sound. The noise reverberated through the empty space.

A second later, the group made the same sound in order, one by one. It happened successively and extremely quickly, taking barely 30 seconds. During which every single person there clicked their tongue.

"Everyone is here." The man turned to Arthur and said.

"..." The boy was completely stunned. 'Did he just count them all using their clicks? What the hell? How is that even pos-... Yeah, it's pointless even to think about it. They're different.' Arthur mused as he shook his head.

"Ehem, ok, that's good. Then, if there is nothing else left to do, we should leave." The boy coughed awkwardly.

"Understood."

"By the way. How should I address you?"

"My name is Germa, sir."

"Ok, Germa. Nice to meet you."

"You too, sir."

After saying that, Germa turned around and started arranging everyone in appropriate groups so that moving would be more in order. Meanwhile, Arthur looked behind him and at the door of the shelter.

There was no trace of Yonathan who had moved inside without bidding his people farewell. Arthur knew that the man didn't want them hesitating. Everything was so sudden for them as no more than two hours ago, things were completely fine.

Now, they had to suddenly leave and put their trust and lives on a random boy who appeared out of nowhere. Even when Yonathan himself ordered them to do that, deep down, it was far too difficult to just swallow easily.

The boy could feel that gap in the atmosphere, and it was not small either. There was no trust between them whatsoever.

As Arthur stared at the door, the realization that he was truly all alone now started sinking in and it felt almost suffocating to him. However, the boy didn't let that occupy his mind and focused on what was important.

"Rest well, Yonathan. I will take your people to the surface." Muttering those words, the boy turned around and started walking.

At the same time, the masses of people began their march in unison. Their steps were quiet and calm, meanwhile, their expressions were the ugliest there is.

They looked sad, detached, and even crying in silence. They tried to keep a strong front as their leader ordered them, but it was too hard to say goodbye in such a cruel manner. They couldn't even see the old man one last time before leaving. It was a farewell with no hugs and no words.

However, everyone there knew that they had one single task. To carry Yonathan's will, his desire, and his dream. They were his people, his children, but also his weapon to execute the revenge he had always wished for.

He had nurtured them so that they could make the life he wished he could make. It was a brutal task, one that could cost them their lives and everything they loved. But, it was also their driving force to move forward and never look back. They had lost friends, family, and now their beloved leader, but they always found a way to keep moving, searching for that hope they heard of.

Now, this was a major step toward that light of freedom.

'To leave this place.'

*Inside the shelter*

In the dark room, Yonathan sat in his chair, looking around him in silence. His eyes were filled with complicated emotions of anger, sadness, and longing. Years and years of memories were written across these walls, and he could remember every single instance of them.

The laughter, the cries, and the anger. He had seen it all with these kids, and now it was all coming to an end in a rather underwhelming way.

'I always imagined my end to be alone. I never expected it to come so soon.' He mused as he closed his eyes and exhaled a small breath.

"Margie… I have found him. The person to carry our will to the future. I have finally found him." He spoke in a wavering tone filled with emotions. "He is still a kid, and he will face things that will even put our nightmares to shame. But, I can see it in him, Margie. I can see how he will do it… How he will change this very world from its core."

Saying those words, the man lifted his cane up and pointed the end of it at his chest with both hands. His eyes were closed still, and his breathing was considerably calm.

"His name will spread like wildfire, and his reputation will reach the heavens above. Margie. The chosen one has arrived and now… I can finally be with you."

*Swish*

Slowly, the group marched farther and farther away from the shelter until it disappeared from their sight. Arthur stopped for a moment as he climbed above one of the wrecked ships to see into the distance.

"This graveyard is simply ridiculous. I could bet my life this is more than just 'thousands of ships'." He muttered.

"Sir?"

"I'm coming."

After that, he jumped down and followed the group. He decided to move behind them, just to make sure no one was lost and nothing weird was following them, especially those dark, dilapidated creatures.

Luckily, everyone there was extremely familiar with this environment, so the journey went very smoothly. Even when pieces of the wrecked ships would fall, people could easily avoid them with instinct.

Arthur's only worry was three types of people… The pregnant ladies, the children, and the elderly. Luckily, there were only a handful of elders, so that category wasn't too concerning. However, the same can't be said for women and children.

In fact, the majority of people in the group were precisely from those categories. The toddlers were being carried by their parents while the pregnant ladies were being helped by other family members and friends.

'If we end up in trouble, these are our most vulnerable points.'

To minimize that problem, Arthur told Germa to order the group to put them right in the middle, surrounded by the people capable of fighting.

It helped keep them safe and prevented the enemy from attacking from these weak points.

"But… It's just a temporary solution. Things are almost bound to change very soon."
