Chapter 143: Arrival, the Capital of Enforcement
Standing in front of the giant steel gate of the "City of Enforcement."
The young man in a duckbill cap looked up, barely seeing the top of the gate that pierced the clouds. The city walls were equally high, with no end in sight to either side.
This magnificent "man-made structure" evoked a profound sense of powerlessness in him.
Billions of human species felt so humble and insignificant in front of the true rulers of the world.
He, a prince of the human race, could only queue up like a minor noble from a remote region at the gates of the "Capital City"…
"So, this is the Enforcement Center?" Chen Yu, hands in pockets, casually looked around, "They really built it damn impressive."
Having lived two lives, he considered himself well-traveled and knowledgeable.
Yet the city before him still made his spirit tremble.
Setting aside everything else.
Just this door shooting into the sky alone had shattered Chen Yu's understanding of "material science."
The others also wore complex expressions on their faces.
"What an eye-opener," the long-haired man said as he pulled out an elastic band from his pocket, gathered his long hair, and tied it into a ponytail, his tone lingering: "No wonder those foreign races have so thoroughly infiltrated the human upper echelon. In the eyes of some races, our human civilization might just look like a small village."
Hearing this, the young man in the duckbill cap shook his head but didn't argue.
This "Diplomatic Squad" spy incident was tied to too many hidden secrets.
The man in steel armor, a B+ level powerhouse with a high status, was destined not to be swayed.
He himself was a true beneficiary of human civilization.
Chen Yu was also placed by the "evil species" group.
The overweight neighbor hastily pulled Chen Yu in, not having time to be replaced.
The long-haired man, due to his outstanding performance in the tournament, was unprecedently summoned by the league's superintendent.
Li Yao, the daughter of one of the largest families in the capital, firmly belonged to the entrenched "pro-monarchy faction."
Besides these six impossible to be "turned" members, all eleven others were spies!
One could say, the traitorous high-up had already done everything he could within the limits of his power…
'Fortunately, the core figures were without issues.'
At this thought, the young man in the duckbill cap glanced at the man in steel armor and Chen Yu, stopped his wandering thoughts, and immediately took out five passes from his backpack and handed them to the group.
"Everyone, we have arrived at our destination. This is the City of Enforcement, where representatives from a myriad of species gather, and the waters are deep. You must all speak and act cautiously so as not to trouble our human race."
As he spoke, he also handed out three booklets to Chen Yu, his overweight neighbor, and the long-haired man: "You three need to read this right now."
"What's this?" Chen Yu asked as he took it and started to leaf through it.
"A list of a hundred races," said the armored man with a grave expression: "It lists the top hundred strongest species in the world right now, each a civilization we cannot contend with. Once in the city, if you encounter any beings from these powerful species, stay far away."
"A hundred races list!"
Chen Yu's eyes brightened, and he quickly flipped to the first page.
The top featured an illustration.
The creature in the picture resembled a lizard, but its face vaguely revealed traces of "human" features.
"Komodo... divine species?" Chen Yu raised an eyebrow.
"Shh!" the young man in the duckbill cap's face changed, and he quickly covered Chen Yu's mouth, "Don't say the full name after entering the city! From now on, just refer to them respectfully as 'Divine Species'."
"Right," the strong man nodded, "Otherwise, it could lead to trouble."
"Oh…" Chen Yu, realizing the implication, pushed away the young man's hand, thoughtfully: "So, this so-called 'Divine Species' is currently the most powerful race, right?"
"Yeah," the young man stared straight at Chen Yu: "Even the official language of the world now is the 'Divine Language'."
Chen Yu: "… Why are you looking at me like that?"
The young man: "After we enter the city, you absolutely must not kill anyone anymore. Especially not dismember them! Put away your twisted fetish! Such behavior is unacceptable in any species' culture."

"Got it," Chen Yu nodded.
"Do you really understand?"
"Understood, understood," dismissing with a wave of his hand, Chen Yu changed the topic and looked towards the girl at the back of the group: "Doesn't Li Yao need to see this list?"
The young man: "She already knows which races the list contains and she won't cause trouble either."
"Hey!" the long-haired man suddenly chuckled coldly, showing Chen Yu the last few pages of the list: "See? I've found the Ka Xiu clan."
"The… ninety-ninth," Chen Yu leaned forward, scrutinized for a moment, and smirked: "So they're at the bottom of the list."
"Humans aren't even on the list," the overweight neighbor sighed deeply.
Chen Yu: "Then I might as well kill them too."
Overweight neighbor: "That's true, Yu is awesome."
As he flipped through the hundred-page booklet, Chen Yu couldn't stop licking his lips.
If he could kill a few of these Transcendents and acquire their abilities…
"Gulp."
Swallowing his saliva, Chen Yu became somewhat impatient, asking the young man in the duckbill cap, "What are we waiting for here? Why haven't we gone in yet?"
"The gate isn't open," the young man calmly responded: "It's the rule of the City of Enforcement. Aside from the hundred species, any other species' diplomatic representatives must devoutly wait outside for a period."
Upon hearing this, Chen Yu fell silent for a while, then walked to a large robust tree in the plaza, turned his back to the group, unzipped his trousers, and relieved himself.
Turning back around, he asked, "Does this count as devout?"
The group: "..."
...
A full hour and a half later, the towering metal gates slowly opened to both sides.
