My Hero Academia: Nightmare Mode

Chapter 27: Nightmarish Nights

The quiet of the night had settled over Kikidori's dorm. The faint sound of the wind against the windows and the distant hum of the heater were the only signs of life. Kikidori lay in bed, his breathing steady as he drifted deeper into sleep.

On the floor beside him, Toga stirred. Her golden eyes snapped open, wide and frantic. Her breaths came fast and shallow, her chest heaving as she looked around the dimly lit room, disoriented. She touched her face, finding cold sweat clinging to her skin. Her hands trembled slightly as she clenched them into fists.

A nightmare.

Toga sat up, her knife forgotten on the desk across the room. It didn't make sense. Villains didn't get scared, right? Fear wasn't something she typically associated with herself—she was the one who caused fear in others. And yet, she couldn't shake the lingering feeling of dread clawing at her chest.

She glanced over at Kikidori. He was fast asleep, his face serene and peaceful in the dim light. For a moment, Toga simply watched him. He looked so calm, so unbothered by the chaos of life. Something about it made her feel... safe.

Without much thought, Toga stood from her spot on the floor. The cold air sent a chill up her spine as she tiptoed over to his bed. She hesitated for a brief moment, her mind flickering back to the nightmare she had just escaped. Then, with a soft sigh, she climbed into his bed, careful not to wake him.

Sliding under the blanket, she pressed her back against his chest, curling into the curve of his body. His steady breathing and warmth quickly eased her racing heart. For the first time in a long while, Toga felt safe.

As the night stretched on, her breathing slowed, and her mind drifted back into sleep, no longer haunted by her fears.

The morning came too soon, sunlight creeping through the blinds and bathing the room in soft light. Kikidori stirred, his mind groggy and slow as he began to wake. Something was... off. There was a weight against him, a warmth pressed close to his body.

His eyes fluttered open, and his heart skipped a beat. Toga was there, nestled against him in a spooning position.

And then the realization hit him.

Morning wood.

Kikidori froze, his face turning red as the awkwardness of the situation dawned on him. He had no idea how she'd ended up in his bed, but the way her body was pressed against his was... problematic.

Toga shifted slightly in her sleep, letting out a soft sigh as she moved even closer. Kikidori's face felt like it was on fire. He wanted to move, to roll away, to do *anything* to break the contact, but he was terrified of waking her and making things even worse.

"Toga," he whispered, trying to nudge her awake.

She stirred, her golden eyes fluttering open. For a moment, she just blinked up at him, a lazy smile spreading across her face as she realized where she was. "Morning, Kiki," she murmured, her voice still thick with sleep.

"Toga," he said, his tone a mix of embarrassment and irritation. "What... are you doing in my bed?"

She tilted her head, as if the answer was obvious. "I had a nightmare," she said simply. "And I felt better being close to you."

Kikidori groaned, covering his face with his hands. "You can't just... do things like this. Do you have any idea how weird this is?"

Toga grinned, her mischievous side waking up. "Weird? Or maybe you secretly liked it?" she teased, shifting slightly to look at him better.

Kikidori shot her a glare. "Get out of my bed."

Toga laughed, clearly enjoying his flustered state. "Fine, fine," she said, sitting up and stretching. "But you didn't seem to mind too much, Kiki."

As she climbed out of bed, Kikidori buried his face in his pillow, letting out a muffled groan. This girl was going to drive him insane.
