Chapter 247: Becoming the Ruler X

Exactly one hour later, a storm split the skies as Shubh descended from the heavens like a falling star. Her armor was singed, smoke rising from her shoulders, and in her hand… she carried not only the Crown of the Human Continent, but also—

The severed head of Emperor Emeric.

She tossed it unceremoniously at Leon's feet.

Leon blinked once and then asked with a faint smile, "Did he piss you off?"

Shubh let out a low huff, brushing dust from her armor. "He said he wanted to make me his concubine," she replied flatly, disgust simmering under her voice.

Leon chuckled softly. "He had no idea what kind of monster he invited into his bed."

Without another word, he extended his hand. As he touched the blood-soaked head, it ignited in silent blue flames. The skull burned cleanly, collapsing into a glowing crown and then into a gem—the Human Gem—pure white, swirling with soft blue fire as if containing the last breath of a dead god.

It hovered into the air, gently fitting itself into the final groove on the Crown of Zharacia.

[Crown of Zharacia — Completed]

All Eight Continental Gems Embedded.

The crown now pulsed with untold power, emitting a low hum that resonated with the very fabric of reality.

Effect : Comprehending the laws of the world is now easier.

Effect Unlocked – Will of Conquest

Grants its bearer divine authority. Mortals must bow. Spirits must yield. Even the world's laws begin to erode before the true King of Zharacia. Can control whole world now, as one wishes.

Effect Unlocked – Dominion Over Realms

Allows Leon to project his influence over conquered continents from any distance. He may call forth armies, bend landscapes, and issue absolute commands without leaving his throne.

{ Congratulations, Ascender Fang. You have completed the Final Trial. }

{ You have skipped all lower Trials and completed the Final Trial with ease. }

{ Your name is now engraved in the Hall of Fame within the Tower. }

{ The Hall of Fame is located at the peak of the Tower, a place only nine Ascenders have ever reached. }

{ You have completed your Final Ascender Trial with an EX Rating. }

{ You are the first Ascender to ever achieve an EX Rating on the Final Trial. }

{ A worthy feat that now resonates throughout the entire Tower. }

{ You have been awarded the EX-Rank Chest as a reward for your extraordinary accomplishment. }

The moment the notifications rang out, the world around him dimmed into shades of grey. Time itself seemed to halt as Leon found himself standing within his Arcane Space once more.

"Hmm," he sighed, rolling his neck casually. "This time… I decided not to get involved too much. Still feels strange to leave them behind like that."

He sighed as he sat on his bed and fell asleep and unknown to him the whole Tower had trembled once again, and the worlds tethered to it were shaken as the system announced his EX Rating—a feat unheard of for a Final Trial.

Across the various layers of the Tower, Ascenders, Guardians, Watchers, and ancient beings stirred in disbelief. Many were boiling with excitement… or fear.

Most races on higher floors were either bewildered or in fear as they heard the Ex rating by same ascender twice.

For the ruling clans on higher floors it was like an death sentence that someone is now climbing higher to claim their spot.

****

[221st Floor – The Eternal Ice Mirror Domain]

In a palace carved from living diamond-ice, the Frozen Monarch of Reflection, known only as Varael, stared into a mirror that reflected not his face, but possibilities.

Within it, he saw Fang(Just shadow) standing atop a mountain of corpses—some of them familiar.

"Impossible…"

The words trembled from lips that hadn't faltered in centuries.

He turned to his twin generals, their bodies formed from crystallized frost.

"Ascender Fang has earned an Ex Rating on his final trial… twice. He bypasses fate itself."

One of them dared ask, "Shall we attempt a pact?"

Varael's mirror cracked.

"No. We invoke the Cold Vow. If we cannot bind him to our side… he will never pass Floor 250."

[237th Floor – Ashen Crucible of Gods]

A realm where only God-Slayers dwell. Where ascenders must defeat ancient war-gods to move on.

In the black temple, Grand Executioner Maldein, a monstrous being fused from godbone and steel, crushed a divine skull in one hand while reading the etched Tower Reports glowing in the air.

"Fang."

He tasted the name like blood.

"Send the Execution Orders to the Seventy-Two Flame Banners. He either joins the Crucible… or dies in it."

From beneath the ground, bound spirits of long-dead gods howled in agreement.

[254th Floor – The Infinite Garden of Blooming Death]

Here, every flower devours essence. Every tree speaks prophecy.

And seated on a throne of living petals, the Empress of a Thousand Roots swayed.

"So… a mortal walks the Tower like it's his playground?"

Her voice echoed through the vines and leaves of the garden, traveling to all her Bloomlords, terrifying plant-constructs forged from extinct world essences.

"I want his blood."

The vines wrapped tighter.

"And his bones as roots for my World Tree."

[291st Floor – The Celestial Inquisition]

Ruled by the Judges of Law and Flame, this floor exists to punish Ascenders deemed "too dangerous" by the Tower's will.

Inside the sacred court, where time and law itself bow, the Third Celestial Judge—a being made of golden runes and eternal flame—read the Tower's announcement:

[Ascender Fang has cleared Final Trial with Ex Rating – Twice.]

He rose slowly.

"That... has never occurred in the last 30,000 Tower Cycles."

He turned to the other judges.

"Mark him as a Crimson Anomaly."

Another judge, cloaked in stardust and chains, whispered:

"We must cleanse him before he reaches Floor 300."

[299th Floor – Throne of Voidlight]

Here, only Nine True Kings dwell. Each one governs reality itself in fragmented aspects—time, chaos, light, destruction, etc.

And as Fang's name was engraved in the Hall of Fame, their thrones shuddered.

"...Another one?" muttered King Solakar of Broken Light. "Already?"

The Voidlight trembled as he felt Fang's existence crawling ever closer to their dominion.

"If he reaches Floor 300… he may become the Tenth."

All Nine turned toward the center, where a black throne stood empty.

For millennia, no one had claimed it.

Until now, perhaps.
