Multiversal Chat Group: The Cultivator

Chapter 23: Chapter 23: Departure

[Yoriichi Tsugikuni]: "I plan to stay with the Demon Slayer Corps for now. As for what comes next, I'll decide later."

[Group Leader Ren Asakura]: "The Demon Slayer Corps is hosting a banquet to celebrate their victory over Muzan Kibutsuji and the end of the war between humans and demons. The Ubuyashiki family is seriously rich! Yoriichi, you should join us!"

[Lu Mingfei]: "Group leader, don't forget about me! I haven't eaten in two days and two nights!"

[Group Leader Ren Asakura]: "Ok."

---

This battle ended without a single casualty.

For the first time in history, a complete victory.

The head of the Ubuyashiki family never imagined that the thousand-year curse would be broken in his generation.

From now on, the children of the Ubuyashiki family would no longer be doomed to die before the age of 30.

At the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters, the atmosphere was electric with celebration.

Muzan Kibutsuji was dead. The Twelve Kizuki were all eliminated.

This was an unprecedented victory.

Everyone's hard work had not been in vain.

In the courtyard of the traditional Japanese estate, all members of the Demon Slayer Corps had gathered.

The head of the Ubuyashiki family spoke about the hardships they had endured and announced that everyone should eat and drink to their heart's content in celebration.

Everyone was overjoyed.

Even Yoriichi, who rarely smiled, showed a hint of a smile.

But while the entire Demon Slayer Corps was happy, who was the one person who wasn't?

"Lu Mingfei should be back soon."

Ren Asakura smirked with amusement.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Lu Mingfei was kneeling by a small stream, drinking water.

"Group leader! Help me! I'm starving to death!"

The next second, a black portal suddenly appeared beneath his feet.

Swoosh!

Before he could react, he was sucked in.

And then—Thud!—he face-planted right in front of Ren Asakura.

"You son of a—!"

Ren Asakura shook his head.

"Not good, Mingfei. Your reaction speed is still too slow."

At that moment, Lu Mingfei was shirtless, and his pants were nothing more than tattered rags.

Over the past two days, he had fought in more than twenty battles.

He had slain over a hundred demons.

Through these battles, he had undergone a transformation.

Though he still had that unlucky aura about him, the fear in his eyes was gone.

He no longer feared combat.

As long as the opponent was an enemy, he could now raise his sword without hesitation.

Lu Mingfei himself hadn't even realized how much he had changed.

"Heh heh! I'm back!"

Ren Asakura looked at him and thought, This kid's kind of dumb.

Lu Mingfei glanced at Ren Asakura, whose clothes were still perfectly clean.

Then he looked down at himself.

Tears welled up in his eyes.

"Group leader, you have no idea what I went through these past two days! Those demons were so evil! When they couldn't beat me, they ambushed me! I almost died so many times! You almost never saw me again!"

Despite everything, Lu Mingfei still had that unlucky, beaten-down look.

[Ren Asakura]: "No crying, no crying! Get up and shake it off."

Headache!

After all this training, after killing so many demons, why do I still feel so useless?!

At that moment, the head of the Ubuyashiki family approached.

"Guest, please change into some clean clothes first."

Lu Mingfei scratched his head awkwardly.

"Yeah… I probably should."

His clothes had been torn to shreds during the battles with demons, so he had simply gone shirtless.

---

Dressed in a loose-fitting Japanese robe, Lu Mingfei looked at the grand feast about to begin and swallowed hard.

Ren Asakura smacked him on the head.

"Look at you! At least act like a modern person. It's not like you've never had food before!"

Lu Mingfei rubbed his head and muttered, "I haven't eaten in two days. This is perfectly normal!"

As the banquet began, everyone started eating.

Lu Mingfei ate with the most enthusiasm, enjoying every bite.

There was even sake.

Ren Asakura took a small sip—not bad.

Meanwhile, Yoriichi Tsugikuni gazed at the sky.

The problem of demons had been completely resolved.

But the problems of humans… those were far from over.

Japan was still in the Sengoku era.

Even without demons, humans would continue fighting each other endlessly.

Yoriichi had no idea what the future held for him.

Ren Asakura patted his shoulder and said softly,

"Just keep moving forward."

---

As time passed, the banquet came to an end.

Everyone returned to their own places and their own lives.

The Demon Slayer Corps members went back to their quarters to rest.

Yoriichi stayed in a traditional Japanese courtyard.

The head of the Ubuyashiki family declared that Yoriichi was a hero to their clan.

He could stay as long as he wanted.

Everything was finally over.

The Demon Slayer Corps would soon disband.

The few remaining demons scattered across the land would never regain their former strength.

And once Lady Tamayo completed her research on a cure to turn demons back into humans,

The demon crisis would be completely eradicated.

The Ubuyashiki family was a well-established clan.

As long as Yoriichi Tsugikuni stayed within their territory, he would be treated with the utmost respect.

With the demons gone,

Yoriichi no longer needed to be a demon slayer.

The burden he had carried for so long had finally lifted.

For the first time in his life, he felt

truly at ease.

---

Late into the night.

Lu Mingfei had gotten a little drunk and was now snoring away in his room.

The sudden shift from constant tension to relaxation had left him utterly exhausted.

He needed a good rest.

Meanwhile, Yoriichi and Ren Asakura sat on the wooden steps of the courtyard.

The moonlight poured down.

Neither of them could sleep.

Beside them, freshly brewed tea sat steaming in the cool night air.

Ren Asakura took a sip and spoke.

"I should leave now. There's nothing left for me to do here."

Yoriichi gazed at the vast night sky.

"Mm."

Neither of them said anything more.

They understood each other perfectly.

---

Morning sunlight filtered through the windows, casting a warm glow inside.

Lu Mingfei slowly opened his eyes.

That was the best sleep I've ever had!

For the first time, he had woken up naturally, completely refreshed.

Outside in the courtyard, only Yoriichi remained, watching the wisteria flowers sway gently in the breeze.

After freshening up and getting dressed, Lu Mingfei walked over.

"Master Yoriichi, where's the boss?"

Yoriichi replied calmly.

"The boss went back—to his own world."

Lu Mingfei froze for a moment.

Then, after thinking about it, he realized it made sense.

Everything here had been resolved.

There would likely be no more demons even 400 years from now.

And as for himself… it was time to go back as well.

"Master Yoriichi, I should head back too."

Yoriichi gave a gentle smile.

"Once you return, don't slack off. Keep training your swordsmanship whenever you can. Your world seems quite troublesome as well. Once you master the basics of Breathing Techniques, I'll teach you Total Concentration Breathing."

Lu Mingfei nodded seriously.

Then, as if remembering something, he grinned and said,

"See you, Teacher Yoriichi!"

Yoriichi was taken aback.

He turned to look—

But Lu Mingfei was already gone.

He had returned.

"Teacher, huh…"

A thought crossed Yoriichi's mind.

Perhaps he should open a dojo.

Teach children the way of the sword.

After all, he had passed on his knowledge of Breathing Techniques and swordsmanship to Lu Mingfei without holding anything back.

That made him, without a doubt, Lu Mingfei's teacher.

---

When Lu Mingfei opened his eyes again,

He was back in his tiny little room.

"Now the real headache begins… How am I going to explain all this to my aunt?"
