Shuttered shops could be seen everywhere, once bustling snack stalls, streets filled with throngs of tourists, stages with incessant music—now all eerily empty, as if a hundred years had passed.

"Is there no one here?" Ximu held up his rifle, its flashlight sweeping around.

"There should be people, but their living area is probably not here," Tilan shook her head, moving forward in the direction she remembered.

An hour later, the group finally arrived at the entrance to the underground residential area, where they encountered Gang members standing guard.

"Who are you? How did you get here?" They watched warily at the group of youngsters approaching, their eyes sweeping over them.

Although Ximu and Kinsenke had guns in their hands, the others did not, and the leading girls, Tilan and Efnie, looked very young, which slightly reassured the guards; this group did not seem to be desperados but had more of a scholarly air.

"Are you here for an adventure, for fun? This is not a place for you to be," the lead man with scars at the corner of his eyes lingered his gaze on Efnie for a long time but ultimately restrained himself—after all, the girl had several Fireballs floating around her, suggesting she might be a powerful Transcendent.

"Yes, we want to be," the men replied faster and faster, a manic look in their eyes.

"Thank you, everyone! It's wonderful to have fans like you," Ruby clapped her hands joyfully, then she asked the men again.

"Now then, Ruby is a bit scared, could you please lead the way and protect Ruby?"

"Yes, we will protect you, lead the way for you."

"How wonderful~ All of you are so, so good~" Ruby's face lit up with a joyful smile, she lifted her skirt slightly, curtsying, and then had the men lead the way for her.

The group started moving forward once again, but this time, there was quiet discussion among the few people in the back.

Eventually, the group made its way deeper underground, emerging from a large sloping passage to behold a vast underground residential area in the distance, and at the end of their field of vision, an ancient city appeared.

"It's still the same as before," Tilan thought, but this time she didn't intend to continue hiding as time was of the essence.
