—————————

Within an infinite starry sky, there sat a blue and green planet, shining like a jewel in its solar system.

A few hundred meters away from the planet, a wormhole suddenly appeared, expelling an asteroid slightly larger than a one-bedroom apartment toward the planet.

Within the asteroid consciousness returned slowly to its only occupant, like a tide rolling in, carrying only faint sensations. There was no sight, no sound, no smell—just the persistent awareness of touch. They floated, suspended in nothingness, without any clear sense of where they were or what they were.

The world around them pressed close, smooth and cold in some places, jagged and sharp in others. It was like being wrapped in stone, though the sensation of weight was absent. Whatever confined them floated with them, tumbling softly through a void they couldn't comprehend.

'Who am I?'

The thought came unbidden, strange and incomplete. They tried to move, and that's when they felt it—themselves. Their form wasn't solid. It wasn't flesh. It wasn't anything familiar. They stretched outward, tentatively, and their body responded by flowing—heavy, dense, and yet malleable, like liquid metal.

Touch became their only connection to the world. Every movement mapped the edges of their confinement. The space was small, barely large enough to hold them, and the surfaces were hard and uneven. Gaps and fractures ran through it, sharp and unforgiving, while tiny patches of smoother material radiated faint traces of cold.

'Where am I?'

The question stirred, but there were no answers. They pressed outward again, their fluid body oozing into every crevice, feeling the texture of their enclosure. It felt hollow, like a shell made of rock, drifting aimlessly in one direction.

'This is weird. I was… I can't…'

Then, a faint rumbling began, emanating from deep within the asteroid. They felt it through the surface beneath them, a subtle vibration that rippled through the walls. Instinctively, they froze—or at least tried to, as much as their shifting, fluid body allowed. The sensation wasn't sound; it was the stone itself shivering, a pulse carried through the rigid material.

The rumbling continued, growing stronger, spreading through every crack and crevice. Alongside it came a new sensation: heat. It was faint at first, barely noticeable, but it grew steadily, seeping through the fractured rock and brushing against their strange, malleable form.

'This can't be good.'

The heat persisted, intensifying with every passing moment. They pressed themselves against the farthest walls of their enclosure, their liquid form gripping tightly. The heat radiated through the stone unevenly, with some areas becoming almost molten.

'Wait… I'm in some stone thing that's moving… and it's heating up. That must mean… oh no—'

Another vibration tore through the asteroid, sharper and more intense this time. The entire chamber trembled violently, sending fragments of stone breaking free and tumbling into the confined space. Each piece struck them, sending ripples through their form, but they didn't feel pain—only the sensations of motion and pressure.

The asteroid shifted again, falling faster now. They could feel the pull of gravity beginning to creep in, faint but undeniable, tugging at their form and dragging loose debris to one side of the chamber. The heat continued to rise, and the vibrations became constant, a deep hum that resonated through every surface.

'If I survive this, I'm definitely going to find whoever put me in here and sent me crashing into a goddamn PLANET!!!'

Then, with a sudden, deafening jolt, the world shattered. For a moment, they were weightless again. They were thrown forward, spilling out into the open like the contents of a cracked egg.

'FFFFFUUUUUUU—!!!'

They couldn't see or hear, but they could still feel everything—the asteroid's structure tearing apart under gravity and friction, and themselves being flung into space, grasping desperately at the fragments around them.

The asteroid's fractured shell disintegrated completely, its pieces scattering like shards of glass and molten slag.

As they plummeted toward the surface of the planet, they clung to the fragments of the shattered asteroid, holding on with every ounce of their dense, liquid form. The jagged pieces, sharp and uneven, offered no comfort, but they were something to anchor themselves to amid the chaos.

The heat that had once radiated through their enclosure no longer affected them. Outside the asteroid, the searing temperatures that had once threatened to melt the rock seemed to pass over them like a harmless wave. It was as if their strange, malleable body had adapted—or perhaps they had always been impervious to it.

But that small relief did little to calm the growing panic within them. They were falling—fast—and the pull of gravity grew stronger with every moment. Internally, they screamed, a silent cry that echoed in the void of their thoughts.

'AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN!!!!! WHO DID THIS TO ME!!!!! GOD IF YOU ARE THERE PLEASEEEEE!!!!'

Their screams, questions, and please spiraled in their mind, unanswered and relentless, as they assumed ground was rushing closer. They wished desperately to understand—to remember anything about what had led them to this moment. But their memories were a blank void, as dark and empty as when they awoke.

They tumbled uncontrollably, their form twisting and rippling in their uncontrollable descent. The fragments of rock they clung to began to break apart further, crumbling under the forces tearing through them. They tried to stretch out, to hold onto more pieces, but the effort was futile. One by one, the fragments slipped away, leaving them utterly exposed and alone in free fall.

'WHYYYY!!!! Ahhh-uhhh I have to think I have to do something!!!'

Suddenly, a strange instinct took over. They pulled themselves into a compact shape—something like an egg or a smooth, circular form—as the planet's atmosphere began to flow around them. The sensation was strange: pressure building around their body, pulling and tugging at them, yet unable to break them apart. They could feel the air rushing past, even without the aid of sight or sound to confirm it.

'BRACE FOR IMPACT!!!'

They screamed in their mind but after a while nothing happened but they where not going to let up.

After a little more time they managed to calm down but kept their new shape.

'Well that was anticlimactic I thought I was moving super fast and was about to hit the ground.'

'Am I even moving straight down or on a angle?'

'Well if this is going to be a while I can at least try to see around me.'

'How do I go about it then everything so far has been through my will so what if I try to see really hard.'

After a quick pause 'That sounds dumb but let's try it anyway.'

They focused, unsure of how to even begin. Seeing? What did that even mean when you had no eyes, no light, no anything? It was all just a concept—a memory from… somewhere. But they had no other ideas, so they willed themselves to try.

At first, nothing changed. Their form remained locked in its dense, egg-like state, and the only sensations they could perceive were the faint vibrations of their descent and the pressure of air rushing past.

'Okay, maybe I need to, like… direct it in a direction?' they thought, trying again.

This time, they shifted focus to a small portion of their body trying to look outward, mentally stretching, as if reaching into the void. The smooth outer shell of their form rippled slightly, and created a semicircle circuit like pattern and something new clicked.

A vague, blurry impression appeared in their awareness—not sight, but a sense of shapes, motion and distance. It wasn't clear or sharp, but they could feel the outline of the rushing atmosphere, the chaotic tumbling of loose fragments still falling alongside them.

'YES—okay, okay! It's working!' they shouted internally, excitement overtaking them.

The more they focused, the clearer it became. They began to see in the traditional sense, but they could also perceive the space around them by mapping it with their will. The asteroid fragments, the layers of atmosphere, even the ground rushing closer—they could feel it all, like a 3D image forming in their mind.

'YES! I can see~'

They cheered happily in their mind and as they were happily looking around they had a thought that came a little to late.

'I wonder where the ground is?'

As they continued to look around and began to piece things together, their mind froze, realization hitting them as hard as the planet's surface was about to.

Because, completely unprepared, they suddenly slammed into the ground.

*KRRRSHHH!!!*
