Chapter 229: What is the Real Weapon?
(Congratulations to the new leader "Humanoid Monster"!)
At this moment, Mu Fan's breathing rhythm was entirely led by Mohandas.
The silent light unfolded, arms extending to their limits.
A cold light danced upon the beam connecting the two halves of the short stick.
Dark Breath wasn't restless but, for the first time, inexplicably ignited a mysterious combativeness in Mu Fan's heart.
It was the pull of a kindred spirit!
What on earth was the instructor's weapon?
Mu Fan felt a sense of urgency in his heart.
The two palms, covered in metal Kai, suddenly vibrated to the sides with force.
With a buzz,
The green light beam split horizontally in the middle, tracing two mysterious arcs.
And Mu Fan finally saw the full picture.
It was actually two... light swords emitting a faint green glow!
The fingers deftly twirled, creating beautiful sword flowers with the soft green light swords in Mohandas's hands.
The meter-long short stick was split in half, the half-meter stick now serving as the hilt of the light swords.
There was no disharmony in his grip.
Mohandas's voice rose with a smile that wasn't quite a smile.
"Kid, are these still short sticks?"
His left hand hung by his side, right hand holding a light sword aimed at Mu Fan.
Transitioning from short sticks to a pair of quaintly designed light swords, Mu Fan was momentarily unable to adapt.
That crystalline green carried an enthralling beauty.
Mu Fan stuttered, "Instructor, your weapon, is it actually twin swords!?"
"I never admitted that. Since I am your instructor, how could I possibly have only one type of weapon?"
"Come on, pick up the gun in your hand and open fire on me until the magazine is empty, and your task will be complete."
Mohandas still held that single sword posture pointing at Mu Fan.
Seeing Fighter Instructor Mohandas's dual-wielding light swords for the first time, Mu Fan felt an indescribable strength.
"Instructor, be careful."
Mu Fan still spoke with caution; the rate of fire for this electromagnetic rifle was more than a hundred times faster than a pistol.
As he pulled the trigger, the first bullet burst forth, a barrage of bullets raining directly towards the cloaked figure wielding dual light swords.
Truth be told, Mu Fan harbored great doubt about this scene.
But, the moment his finger squeezed the trigger.
The two light swords in Mohandas's hands, merely three meters away, instantly became a green light screen.
Buzz!
The sudden yet prolonged sound of the light swords swinging appeared right in front of him.
Then Mu Fan heard the sound of metal falling to the ground by his ear.
Ten seconds.
The sound of an empty magazine came from Mu Fan's hands.
Buzz~
The two Light Wheels twinkled and returned to the shape of two light swords.
Mu Fan's eyes widened!
A distinct arch formed two meters in front of Instructor Mohandas.
Inside the arch was spotless, outside lay scattered bullet casings.
Mu Fan crouched down and scooped up a small handful of scattered bullet heads.
The metallic luster and substantial weight proclaimed the reality of it all—even in the virtual world, it followed the rules of the real one.
The cuts were neat, symmetrical, and so precise it was infuriating; even a random matching of halves could reconstitute a complete bullet!
He had thought that the scene with Ruan Xiongfei was already the pinnacle, but when he saw the spectacle in Mohandas's hands, Mu Fan was so shaken that he found himself speechless.
"Kid, is this the kind of bullet slicing you wanted to see?"
Mu Fan abruptly looked up, his eyes filled with ardent desire, "Instructor, how did you do it?"
"Use your perception well. Dark Breath is far more powerful than you could imagine!" Mohandas extended his arms forward, the green light blade disappeared, then he took two pieces of the broken stick, twisted them face to face.
There was a click, and it reverted back to the look of a metal short stick etched with simple patterns.
"Using the Spiritual Perception enhanced by Dark Breath to track the bullet's trajectory, and then mobilizing your muscles to control the Light Blade to slice it before it arrives—it's that simple," he said, his words as plain as drinking a cup of water.
But from these words, Mu Fan heard the instructor's unparalleled pride in the Martial Arts Skill of Dark Breath.
"Then, does this mean that other Telekinetics and those with Spiritual Perception can do the same, following this kind of approach?" Mu Fan asked a critical question.
"Their methods might sound similar, but the effects are worlds apart, lacking the most essential driving force," Mohandas continued his unexcited explanation, seemingly indifferent to the Spiritual Perception present in the human world, even after Mu Fan mentioned Telekinetics.
"Will I be able to accomplish this one day?" Mu Fan's breath quickened.
"You can."
Two ordinary words, yet they were like a reassuring pill, instantly filling Mu Fan with fighting spirit.
"Instructor, does this mean that you can teach me to use other weapons now?" Mu Fan asked excitedly.
"Of course... not."
The trailing voice followed by two words abruptly doused Mu Fan with cold water.
"Why!?"
"Merely a demonstration. Regarding weapon Fighting, I will still only teach you Redemption Seventh Stage; it is our clan's Inheritance Battle Skill! I will not coach you in any other weapon Fighting until you have mastered it... Moreover, if someday you master the true form of the Seventh Stage and still wish to learn other weapons, you can come to me." The metal short stick rotated playfully in his palm, occasionally switching between his hands.
So after all that, he could still only use this stick. Mu Fan grumbled discontentedly, "But I have only learned three of the Seven Stages of Redemption so far. Once it involves other weapons, I'm entirely clueless. Instructor, I want to become stronger!"
"The reason I taught you the incomplete first three segments is that they don't require the true posture of a dedicated weapon. Want to become stronger? Then seek out Jade Tear in the depths of the cosmos. When you find Jade Tear, I will make everything clear to you."
A dedicated weapon?
Mu Fan's eyes locked onto the short stick in the other's hand, its faint green swirl tantalizing him.
Instructor, you said these two Light Swords are not true weapons, so what exactly is your true weapon!?
Seeing the longing in Mu Fan's eyes, Mohandas did not explain further; this was also a way to test one's character.
A true Martial Artist is not swayed by external factors and stays true to their heart, their will unrelenting, pushing forward without hesitation!
After one last glance, Mu Fan let go of his momentary fixation on the stunning weapon, bowed sincerely, "Thank you, Instructor, for setting a goal for me. Your silhouette shall be the direction of my advancement on the Martial Path!"
"What I just demonstrated about power and speed was just a showcase. I will not change your weapon for you. On the pursuit of the Martial Path, there is no end; developing a branch to its utmost is what it means to truly succeed. For training in strength and speed, I will only give you two requirements."
"Single-stick chopping, place a weight on the tip, and then head to the Gravity Training Room, bolster it to your limit, chop ten thousand times."
"Flexible weighted clothing, I will later share the information with Black, let Black give it to you. Wear it for all your daily training, and don't take it off until you no longer feel its weight."
"These two are my basic requirements; the rest is up to you to expand upon. I look forward to seeing your transformation! The day you find Jade Tear will be the day you undergo metamorphosis."
Mohandas tossed the short stick into the void, his cloak fluttered as he took large steps toward Mu Fan.
"Regarding the technical part, I only said I wouldn't teach you weapon Fighting; I never said I wouldn't teach you bodily Fighting. Since you've asked, I will impart the purest Fighting wisdom I have acquired over seventy-four years of my campaign to you."
He spread his five fingers, his palm shining with a metallic luster, then swiftly clasped Mu Fan's head with an authority, power, and speed that left Mu Fan no chance to dodge, forcing him to kneel on the ground.
The aged voice emanated from beneath the cloak, "I have named these insights—Six Forms."
