Lowering her gaze, Hayasaka Ai saw that her satellite phone had been returned.

She picked it up and dialed a special contact number.

After a brief tone, the call connected.

"Hayasaka? What's the matter?"

From the other end of the line, Shinomiya Kaguya's voice came through.

"My lady, the man named Takamine Haruto you asked me to investigate and recruit… his true identity is—"

Hayasaka Ai's anxious voice suddenly cut off.

It was as if an invisible force had gripped her throat, preventing her from speaking.

Shinomiya Kaguya waited for a moment, but the rest of the sentence never came.

"What do you mean? What's his true identity?" Kaguya asked, puzzled.

"…Nothing," Hayasaka Ai replied.

A brief silence followed.

"My lady, please grant me permission to mobilize the Shinomiya family's personnel. I've run into some trouble and need to clean it up."

After a short pause, Kaguya responded, "Alright."

With that, she ended the call.

Holding the phone tightly, Hayasaka Ai took a deep breath.
