Marvel’s Spider-Man: Across the Multiverse

Chapter 73: Chapter 72: Quantum Spider Silk!

The Black Panther's healing plan turned out to be far better than he had originally imagined.

He never considered that quantum energy could actually serve as a coupling agent!

In the past, he was completely helpless against the "bloodborne toxin" lurking within his body because it was too well-hidden.

The Black Panther only knew that this thing could cost him his life, but he couldn't even detect its presence.

And if detecting it was already nearly impossible, then targeted treatment was out of the question.

But now, thanks to quantum energy, a new solution had emerged.

No need to go through the hassle of locating the bloodborne toxin anymore!

He simply needed to address the two major areas where the toxin resided—his spinal cord and bloodstream.

Using quantum energy, the first step was to remove certain substances already present in his blood to ensure they wouldn't couple with the quantum energy. Otherwise, the blood would clot, and the Black Panther would die instantly.

Next, he thoroughly analyzed the data from the heart-shaped herb, identifying several potential elements related to the bloodborne toxin. These were then designated as the primary targets for the quantum-energy-based medicine.

Finally, he synthesized two types of quantum-energy medicines: one targeting the spinal cord and the other the bloodstream. With their application, the process was complete.

Mission accomplished!

Initially, Peter had thought that if it was just about using quantum energy, he could directly channel it into the Black Panther's body to heal him instantly.

However, upon realizing the complexity of the situation, Peter abandoned the idea.

Clearly, the Black Panther's condition was entirely different from Ghost Girl's.

Moreover, the Black Panther's detailed explanation made Peter realize that quantum energy is a double-edged sword. It can not only enhance oneself and heal others but also harm or even kill.

"It seems I can't casually use quantum energy on people anymore—at least not directly on their bodies," Peter mused.

He felt fortunate that Ghost Girl's symptoms happened to fall within the curative range of quantum energy.

Had that not been the case, Ghost Girl might have died on the spot!

At the same time, two new ideas about his abilities began to take shape in Peter's mind.

The first idea arose when the Black Panther explained how quantum energy coupled with matter to create filaments.

Do you remember how spider silk forms? (Refer to the end of Chapter 27 and the beginning of Chapter 28.)

If quantum energy, once externalized, has the ability to couple with matter and form something tangible, could he use this principle to create his own Quantum Spider Silk?

Imagine it—no tools needed, not even a deliberate action of shooting spider silk from his hands!

This wouldn't be much different from generating spider silk organically.

From a scientific perspective, creatures like Tobey spiders and shadow spiders that produce silk naturally have mutant organs capable of secreting the silk fluid.

But Peter's approach was entirely different. His body's every cell could act as a storage unit. Theoretically, this meant his storage capacity was dozens of times greater than theirs.

The only drawback? He'd need to replenish his energy more frequently.

Fortunately, he already had plans for energy supplementation, so this shouldn't be a major issue.

The second idea also stemmed from the coupling ability of quantum energy.

This time, however, it was inspired by the Black Panther's treatment plan.

What if he poured unprocessed quantum energy directly into someone's body or bloodstream in an instant? Could he use the quantum energy to cause their blood to clot, their flesh to stiffen, or even kill them on the spot?

The practicality of this method was yet to be verified.

It seemed unnecessary for dealing with ordinary people.

But against powerful adversaries? He wasn't sure if it would work.

As the thought emerged, a sudden sense of enlightenment washed over Peter, and a feeling naturally arose in his mind.

He recalled hearing an old saying...

Every Spider-Man, upon becoming Spider-Man, naturally discovers their own unique web formula.

For Peter, his formula was the result of quantum energy coupling with matter to create Quantum Spider Silk!

He stretched out his hand and aimed at the floor.

Swish!

A stream of quantum energy shot out in a linear trajectory, rapidly bonding with various substances in the air and solidifying in an instant.

A thin strand of spider silk landed on the ground.

But it didn't come from a web-shooter—it originated directly from Peter's wrist! This choice was, of course, a matter of habit.

He picked up the strand and immediately noticed the differences between his web and regular spider silk.

First, his Quantum Spider Silk was thinner and lighter, but it didn't lack strength. Even this basic version could easily support one or two people performing pendulum-like movements.

Moreover, Peter realized that by increasing the output of quantum energy, he could make the silk longer, thicker, or even stronger.

Due to the extremely subtle nature of quantum energy in this physical world, the silk encountered almost no air resistance.

This gave it an additional remarkable characteristic—speed.

As soon as Peter willed it, the endpoint of the quantum energy would instantly reach the desired location and solidify at incredible speed.

What if, instead of creating a long strand, he condensed it into a web-like projectile?

Wouldn't that essentially become a nearly instantaneous, precise-impact projectile?

Thinner, lighter, faster, and adjustable—these were the defining traits of his Quantum Spider Silk!

These features alone already outclassed the synthetic webs of many other Spider-Men.

Spider silk is one of the most crucial tools in a Spider-Man's arsenal, and for Peter, his innovation was a game-changer.

The next steps were straightforward and no longer required Peter's involvement.

The prerequisites were unlocked; all that remained was model testing to turn theory into practice and produce the final product.

In fact, these tasks could be handed off to Griot.

However, Black Panther chose to stay behind, eager to see the finished product as soon as possible.

Peter returned to his room.

He wanted to experiment with the Quantum Spider Silk first—to ensure he could use it skillfully.

Swish, swish, swish!

White, sticky threads shot from Peter's hand, landing on the floor, walls, and ceiling.

In no time, the room was filled with webs.

Peter wove the threads into a net, climbed onto it, and lay down.

It wasn't that he disliked his bed or had developed some peculiar preference.

It was simply that the web was his own creation, crafted as he mastered the use of Quantum Spider Silk, and he naturally had a fondness for it.

At that moment, a knock came at the door.

Knock, knock!

Peter assumed it was Ghost Girl again.

He leaped to the floor, opened the door, and was greeted by an unexpected figure.

"Doctor Strange? What brings you here? Please, come in," Peter said, stepping aside.

Doctor Strange entered, paused for a moment as his eyes scanned the web-filled room, and then, as if nothing was out of the ordinary, ignored the webs entirely and sat down on the sofa.
