Academy City – Hound Dog Unit Headquarters

Dressed in casual clothing, George strode toward the deepest section of the headquarters—the archive room. Under the influence of his electromagnetic abilities, all nearby surveillance cameras had been rendered useless.

Although his body in this world was female, it didn't feel all that different from a male body due to his impoverished circumstances. At the very least, he didn't have to deal with any discomfort, like an overly heavy chest causing his posture to shift forward.

Bathing and other hygiene matters could be easily handled with magic, eliminating any awkwardness.

As for clothing, there was no way he was going to dress like Misaka Mikoto or the Misaka clones, wandering around all day in a short skirt. Instead, he opted for men's casual wear, complete with a hat to further obscure his appearance.

At a glance, it wasn't easy to determine his gender.

"Confundus!"

Casting a Confundus Charm on the guards stationed outside the archive room, George walked in openly and began flipping through the documents inside with practiced ease.

Thanks to his efforts in the Harry Potter world, he had already mastered wandless, silent casting for simpler spells. However, more advanced magic still required hand gestures to properly channel.

Still, with his various counterparts working hard in different worlds, it wouldn't be long before he could cast all spells silently and without a wand.

"So magic really does exist in this world!"

George's eyes lit up as he skimmed through the documents detailing magic.

Due to concerns about hackers and ability users like Misaka Mikoto, who could infiltrate computers with their powers, organizations like the Hound Dog Unit kept physical copies of crucial research and intelligence in their archives.

After learning about this, George frequently infiltrated the archives to study classified materials.

Today, he had finally found a lead on magic.

According to the documents, this world housed multiple magical factions, with the most powerful being the three major branches of the Christian Church:

- Roman Catholic Church

- Anglican Church (English Puritanism)

- Russian Orthodox Church

Beyond these, there were also numerous independent magical organizations and freelance magicians.

However, the report didn't provide extensive details about these magical groups. It merely noted that they regarded magic as a type of supernatural ability, believing magicians to be a variant of esper.

Additionally, Academy City didn't seem particularly welcoming toward magicians.

Likewise, the magical factions themselves weren't exactly united. Internal conflicts between them were intense.

"So most magicians are affiliated with the church? That makes things easier."

With these clues in hand, George saw a simple path forward. If he captured a high-ranking magician from one of the churches and extracted their memories, he could uncover the true nature of magic in this world.

Closing the file, George exited the archive room. He had already reviewed most of the research stored there, including extensive studies on esper abilities, which had proven useful in increasing his own power level.

"Subject #9981, it's time for your ability enhancement experiment."

Just as he left the archives, he ran into a man in a white lab coat—Kihara Amata.

Kihara narrowed his eyes at George, suspicion evident on his face.

No matter where George went, he always used his abilities to disrupt surveillance, claiming he disliked being monitored. As a result, Kihara had no idea what he was actually up to whenever he wandered around the base.

Lately, every time Kihara Amata went looking for George, he always found him near the archive room.

Although the guards swore they had never seen George there, Kihara couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

"No problem."

George didn't resist and obediently followed Kihara Amata to the laboratory.

Kihara's ability enhancement experiments did, in fact, help accelerate the growth of George's esper level. However, Kihara wasn't just interested in strengthening his abilities—he also wanted to study his body and uncover the cause of his mutation.

Of course, for someone like George, who possessed both the Legilimency Charm and psychic abilities, Kihara's little schemes were completely transparent.

"Astral Projection!"

The moment they entered the lab, George cast the Imperius Curse on Kihara Amata from behind, then skillfully used his electromagnetic abilities to disable the surveillance equipment.

The Imperius Curse worked exceptionally well on ordinary humans, and with the added power of his psychic abilities, George could flawlessly control Kihara every time he underwent an experiment.

"Begin, but don't extract my blood. Also, alter some of the data."

Under George's command, Kihara obediently followed his instructions and began the enhancement experiment.

Once the experiment was completed, Kihara reviewed the results and reported:

"According to the data, if development continues at this rate, you'll reach Level 5 in about two months."

"Good. Change that result to two years."

George got up from the experimental machine and placed a small vial of blood into the system.

By altering the report, he could lower the suspicions of the man pulling the strings behind Kihara—Aleister Crowley.

As for the blood sample, it wasn't his own but had been drawn from another Misaka clone. Every time the experiment required a sample, he swapped in blood from the clones instead of his own.

There was no way he would allow Academy City to obtain and study his real blood.

Having secretly sifted through Kihara's memories, George had already gained extensive knowledge about Academy City.

Most importantly, he had uncovered crucial intelligence regarding Aleister Crowley.

At first, he assumed that Academy City's highest authorities were the Board of Directors, the elite figures responsible for the city's creation and the development of espers.

But in reality, the true ruler of Academy City wasn't the Board of Directors. There was only one real leader—one true creator of Academy City—Aleister Crowley.

Both Kihara Amata and the Hound Dog Unit operated directly under Aleister's command.

From Kihara's memories, Aleister appeared to be omniscient, controlling every aspect of Academy City with near-absolute precision, though he remained suspended upside-down inside a life-support chamber in District 7.

George had every reason to suspect that the Misaka clone experiments and the miniature surveillance robots constantly monitoring him all stemmed from Aleister's influence.

The man had built an entire futuristic metropolis, developed countless espers, and possessed unfathomable power. There was no doubt—Aleister Crowley was far from ordinary. His strength was beyond comprehension.

Because of this, George chose not to act recklessly. Instead, he opted to lay low, carefully feeding false information through Kihara Amata.

During his daily activities, he would instinctively use his magnetic field to repel any miniature surveillance drones that got too close—or simply cast a Disillusionment Charm to remain unseen.

"Obliviate! False Memory Implant!"

Using a Memory Charm, George erased Kihara's recent memories and seamlessly replaced them with fabricated ones. Only then did he lift the Imperius Curse.

When Kihara regained his senses, he didn't notice anything amiss.

Satisfied, he dismissed George and proceeded with the next round of tests using what he believed to be George's blood sample.

Meanwhile, George quietly left the Hound Dog Unit Headquarters.
