Marvel: My Sign-in System

Chapter 280: C271

Boom!

Majestic energy erupted into fragments. The Twilight Sword, a weapon of death, emitted a strange crimson glow. The ice coffin shattered, instantly evaporated by the searing heat.

Shrouded in rising steam, the Twilight Sword, reflecting its ominous red light, cut through the mist and hurtled toward Thor.

Thor stood alongside Tyr, the God of War, Ullr, the God of Hunting, and Srud, the Goddess of Strength.

As the Twilight Sword descended upon them, the four Asgardian gods instinctively tried to evade, but the overwhelming pressure from Surtur's attack all but locked the space around them in place. The sheer force immobilized them, pinning them where they stood.

All they could do was watch, helpless, as the colossal Twilight Sword came crashing down.

"Thor! Tyr! Ullr! Srud—!"

From a distance, the other gods clenched their teeth in frustration at the scene unfolding before them.

Wanda, Natasha, and the others wasted no time. They launched a desperate assault on Surtur, unleashing a relentless barrage of flying slashes and devastating magical attacks. Wanda hurled spell after spell at Surtur as if magic cost her nothing, all in an attempt to divert his attention and rescue Thor.

Yet Surtur remained unfazed. His focus was solely on killing Thor and the others first. To him, the attacks from Wanda and the others were mere scratches. His plan was simple—eliminate Thor and the so-called warriors, then deal with the magician and that super-fast little reptile.

The killing intent was suffocating. Thor and Tyr could do nothing but watch as death came for them.

And yet, none of them showed fear.

Instead, they glared defiantly at the oncoming end, standing resolute. In Asgard, dying in battle was an honor, a warrior's greatest glory. Only those who fell in combat could enter the Hall of Valor.

The Twilight Sword drew closer, its searing heat licking at their bodies. Their skin, their hair—everything began to burn. The silent agony tested their very wills.

One hit. That was all it would take. Even with Asgardian resilience, they would be reduced to nothing.

But just as Thor and the others braced themselves for death—

A mere dozen meters from impact, when the blazing energy of the Twilight Sword was close enough to incinerate them whole—

—suddenly, that distance felt like an uncrossable chasm.

Time froze.

All of Muspelheim—the Realm of Fire—stood still. The battlefield remained frozen in time. In the distance, flame demons, locked in combat against Asgardian warriors, stood frozen mid-motion, their weapons poised but unmoving. Airships hovering above ceased their flight. Meteors that had been streaking across the burning sky hung motionless.

Everything was eerily still.

A vast power descended, seizing control of everything. The gods and soldiers alike found their bodies unresponsive, their thoughts racing but their forms paralyzed.

A single question echoed in their minds:

Who has arrived?

But Wanda, Natasha, Sergei, and the others knew this presence well.

Their hearts leapt with hope.

Then, like a thunderclap within their souls—

"WHO DARES?!"

BOOM!

The voice was like a bell tolling across the realm. A moment later, an earth-shattering explosion resounded throughout Muspelheim.

Eyes widened in shock as a brilliant light streaked across the sky.

A vast golden pillar of energy descended like divine judgment, slamming directly into the fire giant, Surtur.

Surtur's massive form was swallowed by the golden radiance. The ground trembled wildly. Space itself shuddered. A violent shockwave erupted outward, sending Thor and the other gods hurtling through the air.

They were flung back for kilometers, tumbling uncontrollably until they managed to stab their weapons into the ground, anchoring themselves against the storm of energy. Even then, they could only cling to the ground, bracing against the deafening waves of power.

Annihilation. Destruction. Devastation.

The golden light turned the entire world into a blinding day.

For a moment, it felt as though the end of the world had arrived.

This power—vast, sacred, overwhelming—it did not belong to this world. It was something beyond comprehension, something that inspired both despair and awe.

"What... what just happened?"

Tyr, the one-armed God of War, gripped his weapon tightly, its blade embedded in the ground as he struggled to steady himself. The wild storm of energy raged around him. Gritting his teeth, he turned to look at Thor, then at Srud and Ullr, who were just as bewildered.

Tyr was powerful—on par with Thor. As the commander of the Valkyrie Legion, he had fought countless battles at Odin's side. He had once witnessed Odin's near-godlike power at its peak, a force capable of shattering worlds.

And yet, this power…

It was not Odin's.

Then—who, in all the Nine Realms, possessed such might?

Who could freeze time itself?

Who could strike down the almighty Surtur in an instant?

From the fire giant's enraged and agonized roars, it was clear—Surtur had been wounded.

"Hahaha!"

Lying on the ground, his blonde hair and red cape whipping in the raging winds, Thor laughed despite his battered state. Dust covered his face, but his grin was triumphant.

"My friend," he said between chuckles, "believe me—besides my father, there is only one other with such power."

"Who?!" Srud, the Goddess of Strength, called out in disbelief. "Is it that 'guardian of Midgard' you spoke of?"

Thor's smile widened.

"Yes," he confirmed. "It is him."

"He is Wanda's patriarch. The Guardian of Midgard. Our friend."

"He may be young, but his greatness rivals my father's."

"He saw our plight—and so, he came."

Srud and Ullr were stunned.

Tyr, still bracing against the powerful energy, let out a breath.

"Incredible..." he muttered. "At the banquet, Sergei spoke of him. I had my doubts at first, but now—"

"I was wrong."

"He is truly a being worthy of respect."

"His power is as vast… as sacred… as the cosmos itself."

Hearing Tyr's words, the other gods felt their hearts surge with excitement.
