Chapter 22: Chapter 22 : Are you Dating Wanda?
---
At the moment.
The lobby on the second floor of the hotel.
"Only one room?!"
Finn was not the only one who was mad. Little Spider-Man, Peter, immediately had a bitter expression upon hearing the news, full of reluctance.
"Peter, this is actually good news. We can go undercover, superhero… and Scarlet Witch is also…"
Good buddy Ned didn't seem to mind and raised an eyebrow at him.
Peter Parker was slightly displeased, but in the end, he could only compromise.
After all, they were already in Venice—there was no way to fly back now. He was planning a romantic confession to MJ.
A farewell to the water city of Venice was definitely a memorable event that must not be missed.
On the other side.
Finn frowned and looked at Wanda Maximoff standing next to him. "Wanda, are you sure you're not joking with me?"
In reality, he knew in his heart that Wanda probably hadn't done it on purpose.
It was clearly a problem with the hotel. In the original timeline, little Spider-Man was also forced to share a room with two people. The poor conditions of the hotel were to blame.
"Don't worry, there are two beds in the room—bunk beds."
Wanda had just noticed that the room was meant for two people.
She had feelings for Finn, but she wasn't some kind of reckless flirt.
Moreover, she was a bit introverted and had a reserved personality, so it was impossible for her to do something inappropriate.
"Forget it. I'm tired. I'll catch up on sleep first, and I'll think of something else later."
Finn yawned and checked in with his luggage.
What a coincidence.
His room was right next door to Peter Parker's.
"Hi, Mr. Finn! We meet again. And Wanda too."
Peter carried his luggage into his room, but then poked his head out again, pointing at Finn and looking at Wanda, who was still talking to the front desk in the distance.
"Mr. Finn, what's your relationship with Wanda? You two…"
"You two are living together. What's it like to be dating the strongest Avenger? Does she use magic to change things? I heard there are a lot of interesting things about witches…"
Ned couldn't wait to interject.
"We're not a couple."
Finn sighed. These two guys were really good friends, but they had the ability to chatter non-stop as soon as they met. They were full of curiosity.
"Don't worry, I get it. Avengers' relationships are a secret. We'll never tell anyone."
Ned raised his eyebrows, trying to appear serious.
"Mr. Finn, don't disappoint Wanda."
As a member of the Avengers, Peter understood Wanda's experiences.
He also knew that witches were usually cold-tempered and rarely interacted with outsiders, let alone traveled or lived with a man.
So, in Peter's mind, Wanda must have been emotionally invested in Finn.
"Hey, I know you won't believe me no matter what I say."
Finn was a little helpless as he entered his room.
But thinking about what those two had just said, he couldn't help but wonder about Wanda's true thoughts.
What was she up to?
They ate together every day, took walks, chatted, and even traveled together and shared a living space now. Without even realizing it, they had become inseparable… like a couple.
"Could it be that Wanda has feelings for me?"
As soon as Finn thought of this, he immediately dismissed it.
There was no way Wanda Maximoff would like him.
He shouldn't entertain such ridiculous fantasies.
"Sleeping during the day is a bad idea after all."
He sat up from the bed. That random thought had completely sobered him up.
Click… Click…
"You're not sleeping?"
Wanda pushed the door open and entered, her expression troubled. "I checked with the front desk. There are no vacant rooms left in the hotel."
"It's fine. There are two beds here anyway."
Seeing her, Finn's earlier thoughts resurfaced in his mind.
Shaking his head, he got up, walked to the window, and opened the curtains. Sunlight streamed into the room, illuminating the city outside.
"Wanda, do you want to go out for a stroll?"
"You're not tired?" Wanda asked, a little surprised.
"It's not great to sleep during the day. And it's my first time in Venice—what's the point of staying in the hotel?"
Finn said as he stretched.
"Well, let's go then."
Wanda was also visiting Venice for the first time, and she couldn't wait to explore the floating city.
She didn't notice Finn's momentary distraction.

Meanwhile.
In a hidden attic in Venice, a sophisticated setup of equipment had been constructed. A radar map was displayed on a monitor, tracking some kind of data.
Inside the attic.
Several figures were present.
One of them—a one-eyed man—sat in a chair, looking at the man opposite him, who was dressed in a battle suit and cloak.
"Quentin, you said they escaped through a space rift with you? That means they came from another universe?"
Yesterday in Mexico, Nick Fury and Maria Hill had met Mysterio, who had claimed to have arrived in this universe through a dimensional rift.
He also mentioned that many destructive elemental beings had crossed over with him.
They represented Hellfire, Water, Earth, and Wind.
The one they had encountered in Mexico was the Earth Elemental.
Mysterio's strong performance during that encounter had convinced Nick Fury to assist him in dealing with these threats.
"Yes, they are from the multiverse. But we can track their movements with these devices, just like I found you before."
Quentin Beck looked confident, though a hint of mockery flashed in his eyes.
At that moment—
Beep! Beep! Beep!
An alarm blared from the equipment.
"Fury, the Water Elemental has appeared," Maria Hill reported, taking off her earpiece.
Upon hearing this, everyone turned to look at the large screen.
A red dot was moving rapidly towards Venice.
Its trajectory placed it directly in the middle of the water!
"As expected, it's the Water Elemental," Nick Fury said, his expression growing serious.
From what Mysterio had described, the Water Elemental could control all water sources.
Creating a tsunami to engulf an entire city was mere child's play for it.
And Venice was a city built on water.
"Don't worry, everyone. I'll handle this!"
Mysterio showed no signs of panic.
He grabbed the helmet resting on the table and put it on without hesitation.
His entire body glowed green as a mist engulfed him.
And in the next moment—
He disappeared.
