In a secret base known only to Mister Horror...

After Mister Horror's head was severed, the various devices in the base came to life.

Hearing the noise, a man dressed in a white lab coat and wearing gold-rimmed glasses was alerted. Gazing at the activating machines, he muttered in disbelief, "Mr. Essex was actually killed?"

It was only under these circumstances that the backup body and the real-time updated memories would be triggered.

He walked over to a body submerged in nutrient solution and saw that the consciousness from the earlier backup was already beginning to stabilize and transfer to the new body. He breathed a quiet sigh of relief.

Moments later, a red diamond-shaped symbol, representing Mister Horror, appeared on the forehead of the body.

Seconds later, Mister Horror's eyes shot open, and he sat up abruptly.

The greenish nutrient liquid slid down his body as he sat motionless like a puppet.

At this moment, his memories still lingered at the instant his head had been severed.

A few seconds later, he saw the man standing outside the nutrient tank. With a groan of pain, he covered his face with one hand and nodded weakly toward the man with mismatched blue and green eyes. "Jason..."

"Mr. Essex, you're awake! This is wonderful!" Jason hurriedly grabbed a lab coat and draped it over Mister Horror as he stood up.

Mister Horror stepped out of the nutrient tank, his face dark and grim, and began walking toward the lab door.

Jason quickly followed, asking, "Sir, what exactly happened?"

"There was an accident. The enemy was stronger than I expected," Mister Horror replied, his face grim as he recalled the earlier events.

He had been killed...

But he had lived for two centuries, and it wasn't without reason!

If he hadn't had a resurrection backup, he would never have charged into the frontlines like that. In the future, he decided, he would stay away from direct combat.

Being killed was far too unpleasant.

He took a deep breath but suddenly remembered the lost helmet, and his expression darkened further.

That helmet was unique, with only one set of materials available. Without it, facing Emma again would likely result in the same outcome as before.

"So, what do we do next?" Jason adjusted his glasses, his mismatched eyes gleaming with an eerie light.

"The Sentinel Project… We'll try to push it to the government. They'll be very interested in such a method to control mutants, especially after this battle," Mister Horror said.

"I understand," Jason nodded, then asked, "And what about us?"

"Take a break. I have an interesting plan, but it will take some time," Mister Horror said with a grin. "But when it's ready, it will be very exciting."

Jason looked at Mister Horror's smiling face and couldn't help but laugh as well.

...

After Mike used the teleportation cards with Raven to leave the battlefield, he took the time to clean up the battle scars on his clothes. After using two more teleportation cards, Mike and Raven arrived back at Mike's farm.

At this point, Raven no longer looked like the "Smurf" she once was.

Her golden hair and seductive figure made her appear incredibly alluring.

"I wonder if Clark remembers me," Raven said, standing at the door with a hint of worry.

Mike rolled his eyes and scoffed, "He probably doesn't. It's been so many years."

"No way!" Raven rolled her eyes, smacking Mike's chest. "I had a fling with Clark."

Mike shrugged.

"Let's go, I'm tired!" Raven yawned and hooked her arm around Mike's.

Mike opened the door and whispered, "Quiet, the kids should be asleep."

Though it had been a long time since they last saw each other, they still kept in touch occasionally through phone calls, so they had a general understanding of each other's situations—like Mike adopting two more children.

Opening the door, a dim yellow wall lamp illuminated the room.

Mike scanned the area and saw three little ones curled up on the sofa, already asleep. He froze for a moment, and his expression softened.

How could these kids be so mischievous?

"Dad?"

At that moment, Clark opened his eyes. Upon seeing Mike, his eyes brightened, and he whispered, "Dad?"

"Shh!" Mike quickly hushed him.

Mike gestured at Clark, pointing toward Erik and Charles.

Clark nodded, quickly walking over to Mike, but his gaze was drawn to Raven, who stood beside him.

He paused for a moment, then broke into a brilliant smile. "Aunt Raven!"

His tone was confident, with no hesitation—Clark still remembered her.

Raven gave Mike a smug look, then playfully compared their heights before beaming at Clark. "You've grown so tall!"

Clark nodded, his gaze shifting back and forth between Mike and Raven. A strange gleam flashed in his eyes, and he smiled sweetly at Raven. "But Aunt Raven, you're still as young and beautiful as before."

Raven, delighted, covered her mouth and pinched Clark's cheek. "You sure know how to flatter."

"It's all thanks to my great teaching," Mike chimed in, walking toward Erik and Charles.

Raven rolled her eyes and turned to Clark. "Come on, let's chat."

Clark shook his head. "Not today, I need to sleep. I have to get up early tomorrow."

Raven nodded, feeling a sense of secret satisfaction, though she feigned regret on the outside. She patted Clark on the head. "We'll talk tomorrow then."

Clark nodded and started heading upstairs. After a couple of steps, he turned back. "Aunt Raven, Happy New Year."

New Year?

Had it really already turned January 1st?

Raven froze for a moment, then smiled at Clark. "Happy New Year, Clark!"

Clark quickly made his way upstairs but paused at the staircase, glancing at Mike and Raven. He couldn't help but grin.

"Go, Dad!"

After casually placing his helmet on the sofa, Mike escorted Erik and Charles back to their rooms before heading downstairs again.

Raven was sitting cross-legged on the sofa, rubbing her feet. She looked at Mike and said, "Looks like you're doing well."

"Yeah." Mike walked toward the kitchen. "Want something to eat?"

After a night of battle and skipping dinner, he was starving.

Raven leaned back against the sofa, her eyes glinting mischievously. Her tone turned sultry as she said softly, "How about eating you?"

Mike paused, his face unreadable. "How about egg fried rice? I remember we had leftovers from yesterday."

"Anything works, as long as it's you... making it." Raven licked her lips as she spoke.

Mike turned toward the kitchen, but Raven keenly noticed that his steps seemed to have quickened slightly.

"Heehee."

Raven couldn't help but laugh, her cheeks turning pink as she seemed to have an idea. She curled up like a cat, lazily lounging back on the sofa.

A few moments later, the delicious smell wafted from the kitchen.

Raven sniffed the air, muttering, "This guy... raising kids and cooking meals."

Who could ever connect this to the ruthless fighter from before?

Mike walked out carrying two plates of egg fried rice. When he saw Raven resting on her arm, watching him, he said, "Come over and eat, it'll get cold soon."

"You'll have to carry me."

Raven stretched her arms wide.

Mike raised an eyebrow, placing the rice on the table. "Eat or I'll feed it to the dog."

Raven: "..."

"Such a lack of romance."

She muttered, walking slowly to the table. Glaring at Mike, she picked up the spoon and started eating heartily.
