"What's going on?"
At Midtown High School, Peter Parker looked at the crowd of reporters and cameramen swarming the school grounds and turned to ask Gwen Stacy.
"Hunter Kraven is doing some promotion here. I heard about it from Betty yesterday," Gwen replied, her tone laced with irritation.
Peter raised an eyebrow, observing the spectacle. "Did the school even approve this?"
"Of course. Otherwise, they wouldn't let his team set foot here," Gwen replied, folding her arms. "I'm guessing he's trying to regain attention after being overshadowed by the so-called 'Vampire Queen.' By the way, Peter, did you read her interview? She's all over the news."
Peter nodded, his mind already distracted.
On the temporary stage, a female host addressed the gathering students. "How many of you have seen the show Hunter Kraven?"
Several students raised their hands enthusiastically, some shouting, "It's amazing!"
The host smiled. "Great! After Kraven arrives, we'll begin shooting today's feature. Please continue talking and laughing, but try not to applaud or make any disruptive sounds. We're filming coverage—no live sound, just Kraven in action."
Gwen rolled her eyes and whispered to Peter, "Looks like our school has officially become a hotspot thanks to Spider-Man and Spider-Woman's connection."
Peter smirked. "Didn't you say you wanted to string Kraven up from a bridge?"
Gwen shrugged. "Yeah, but not now. Right now, I'm more intrigued by the so-called Vampire Queen. What about you? Want to grab something from Taco Bell? I'm starving."
Peter checked his phone. "It's only four in the afternoon. How are you hungry already?"
"You don't understand what I went through this morning," Gwen said dramatically. "I ran into some wannabe robbers in Times Square. Two men and a woman—they had tasers and ran faster than I expected."
"Did you catch them?"
"Of course," Gwen replied smugly. "After the food vendor they robbed cursed them out, I swooped in and handled it."
Peter chuckled at her story as they walked away from the commotion, leaving the spectacle behind.

Meanwhile, Kraven observed the pair as they departed. A natural-born hunter, Kraven had developed an uncanny ability to sense dangerous prey. Something about those two high schoolers gave him a sense of unease—especially the boy.
"Was that just my imagination?" Kraven muttered, frowning as he watched them go.

Crimson Bar
"Bang!"
Harriet, a small-time vampire, slammed into the wall, coughing and gasping for air. A dark figure loomed over him, gripping his collar with gloved hands.
"Awake now?" the figure growled.
The man was dressed in black leather, carrying a silver sword. Even through his sunglasses, his piercing gaze radiated menace. Harriet trembled.
"Tell me what Victor is planning," the man demanded, his voice low and threatening. "Why are all the vampires in New York suddenly on edge? What are you hiding?"
Harriet stammered, his words barely coherent. "V-Victor is dead!"
The vampire hunter frowned. "Impossible. He's too powerful for that."
"It's true!" Harriet cried. "There's a new vampire force in town, hunting both humans and vampires. No one is safe—not even at night!"
The hunter remained silent for a moment, his grip loosening slightly. "Does the Vampire Council know?"
"I don't know," Harriet wheezed, his face contorted with pain. "But the new vampires are ruthless, and everyone's terrified of them."
The hunter turned, pulling his silver sword free from Harriet's shoulder. "And what about this so-called Vampire Queen? Is she part of this new force?"
"I don't know," Harriet pleaded.
The hunter sheathed his blade, placing his sunglasses over Harriet's eyes. "Then let's hope you survive long enough to find out."
With that, he walked away, leaving Harriet writhing in pain. Moments later, a silver light erupted from the vampire's body, reducing him to ash.
---
The vampire hunter stepped into the night, his expression grim. A storm was brewing in New York's dark underworld, and he was ready to hunt it down.
