Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Midnight Revelry
Charles and his group watched the scene before them with puzzled expressions. What was Han Yu doing? Was he planning to drug the girl? That seemed absurdly blatant—making poison right in front of her?
The girl in purple seemed to have the same thought. She pinched one of the pellets delicately with her slender fingers and examined it closely. Apart from its pleasant aroma, it appeared ordinary.
"What's this supposed to mean?" she asked.
"Just eat it, and you'll see. Don't worry, it's completely harmless," Han Yu said with a smile.
The girl's eyes flickered with a calculating glint. "I suppose you wouldn't dare play tricks. Otherwise, your entire planet wouldn't survive the consequences," she said casually.
With that, she flicked the pellet into her mouth with a graceful motion. The moment it entered, her eyes narrowed slightly as if she was savoring the sensation.
"This is bad! Han Yu really drugged her!"
"It must be some potent poison. Everyone, get ready to fight!"
"Wow, I've never seen someone openly make poison in front of their enemy, and the enemy still ate it!"
The muttering and speculation behind him made Han Yu roll his eyes. They were so far off the mark. However, he didn't bother correcting them and instead kept his gaze on the girl, waiting for her reaction.
After about half a minute, the girl opened her eyes, now sparkling with excitement. She had never consumed such pure and concentrated energy before. Just one of these tiny pellets was enough to satisfy her appetite for an entire month.
Normally, to achieve the same effect, she'd need to hunt at least ten massive extraterrestrial beasts like the extraordinary dragon from earlier. But now, Han Yu's single pellet had achieved the same result—and it tasted amazing too.
The girl reached out for more, but Han Yu pulled back his hand with a playful smile. He began tossing the remaining pellets up and down in his palm.
"So, have you decided about my offer?" he asked, his tone teasing.
The girl hesitated, her gaze fixed on the pellets as she bit her lip thoughtfully. After a brief moment of serious consideration, she nodded.
"Alright, I agree!"
Smiling, Han Yu handed her the remaining pellets, which she eagerly accepted and began eating with delight.
Watching her savor the food, Han Yu couldn't help but think to himself, What a monster.
The pellets he had made weren't exactly crafted with finesse. He had simply melted down rare herbs and chunks of divine meat, extracted their essence, and solidified them into a crude form.
The energy contained within was immense, but because of the rough processing, the pellets were also incredibly volatile. A single one could function as a small nuclear bomb if detonated.
Yet the girl was casually devouring them, one after another, without any visible discomfort. It was a testament to her unique constitution, and it left Han Yu marveling at her resilience.
"Hey, you've eaten enough, haven't you? I'm Han Yu. Don't you think it's time you told me your name?" Han Yu asked with a smile.
The girl, still chewing, nearly choked when he asked. After patting her chest and swallowing, she replied, "I'm Galacta ."
Han Yu nodded with a grin. He turned to dismiss the others, but when he saw their expressions, he couldn't help but feel amused.
They all wore baffled looks, as if to say: How did this go from being a tense confrontation to peaceful coexistence?
"Alright, everyone, you can go now. It's fine," Han Yu said, waving them off.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Classic Han Yu," Charles muttered, clicking his tongue as he clapped Han Yu on the shoulder before walking away. Only Han Yu could handle a situation like this so effortlessly—turning a potential enemy into an ally.
For Charles, this was enough. He had bigger concerns now, like how to deal with the massive crater in the estate and what Eric would say about fixing it.
"Alright, you're coming inside with me," Han Yu said to Galacta . "Since you've agreed to stay, you'll need to change those clothes. If you walk around dressed like that, people will definitely stare."
With a smile, Han Yu began heading back toward the house. Galacta followed closely behind, still asking him for more food as they walked.
This little foodie didn't rely on any displays of power to get her way; instead, she bombarded Han Yu with an endless series of pleading expressions. Unable to resist Galacta 's relentless charm, Han Yu gave in, crafting energy pellets for her as they walked. To enhance their satiety, he even infused the pellets with abundant Green Lantern energy, adding streaks of green patterns to their surface.
"Good thing Green Lantern energy is inexhaustible. Otherwise, feeding this little lady would burn a massive hole in my wallet!" Han Yu thought to himself, lamenting internally. His initial excitement about having a single-universe-level powerhouse by his side had long since vanished. He had never been so grateful for owning the Green Lantern ring—without it, the cost of using items from the general store system would've been painful to bear.
That evening, the group decided to celebrate the arrival of new teachers and students at the school. They bought plenty of food and drinks and held a lively party in the courtyard.
"Han! Your seasoning is incredible! If you started selling this, you'd make a fortune!"
Charles grabbed a skewer of beef from the grill and took a big bite. The rich aroma of the meat blended perfectly with the flavor of the seasoning, enhancing every aspect of the dish. One bite filled his mouth with heavenly flavor.
The scene shifted to Saitama, King, and Galacta , who were devouring skewers like there was no tomorrow. The seasoning slathered on the skewers seemed even thicker than the meat itself.
"Han Yu, your cooking is too good. I'm not leaving anymore—I'm staying here forever!"
Hearing Galacta 's voice, Han Yu turned to look. The petite beauty was holding five skewers in one hand, the combined portion of meat easily larger than her face. Yet she continued to gulp them down, one skewer at a time, with an impressive appetite that made Han Yu chuckle.
To think food was all it took to win her over! Han Yu had braced himself for some high-stakes negotiations, but it turned out this powerhouse had a refreshingly simple mind.
Thanks to Han Yu's cooking, the party, which was initially expected to last just a couple of hours, stretched into a four-hour feast. Even Charles ate to his heart's content, worried he might not get another chance to enjoy such a meal.
Han Yu felt a warm sense of satisfaction seeing his skills appreciated, so he kept grilling more food as the night went on.
"Alright, alright, let us take over the grilling. You should go eat something too."
Fubuki and King came over, grabbing Han Yu by the arms to drag him to a seat. King smiled and said, "You can't just cook for everyone else all night!"
"But you all haven't finished eating yet. I should grill more…"
As Han Yu glanced back at the table, he noticed a neatly arranged plate of untouched skewers. When he looked up, he saw everyone smiling warmly at him.
"We saved some for you. Come have a drink with us!" Saitama said with a grin.
"Go on, go on!" Fubuki urged, pushing Han Yu toward the table.
As soon as Han Yu sat down, the others gathered around. Charles poured him a cup of wine and raised his own glass. Clearing his throat, he smiled and said, "Alright, everyone, raise your glasses! If it weren't for him, none of us would be here tonight. Let's toast to Han Yu!"
"Cheers!"
A bright smile spread across Han Yu's face as he raised his glass high.
"Cheers!"
