Lost in an Alpha's Embrace

Chapter 4: CHAPTER 4, IT'S A DEAL

Emily's eyes locked onto Max's, her mind racing with memories of their passionate night together. But she refused to let her emotions get the better of her. Instead, she spoke in a polite but guarded tone.

"Mr. Blackwood," Emily said, her voice steady. "I believe I'll explain it better with you looking at it. "saying that she removed the sculpture from the bag she had it kept, placing it on space she believed he intended to keep the sculpture.

Emily's fingers curled slightly as she met Max's gaze, her mind flickering back to the night she'd lost herself in creation. Tormoil stood tall in the center of the room, a twisting, fluid form that seemed almost alive. Its curves were raw, its edges sharp, as if it had been sculpted in the middle of a storm wild, unrestrained, yet undeniably intentional.

Emily took a deep breath, her passion for her art shining through. "I want to challenge people's perceptions, to make them see the beauty in the imperfect, the flawed. I want to show them that even in restraint, there is freedom."

Max took a slow step toward it, eyes dark with something unreadable. He reached out, but stopped just short of touching the polished metal. "This piece…" He exhaled, tilting his head slightly. "It's restless. It's fire and restraint in the same breath."

Emily smiled . That was exactly what it was. She'd poured every ounce of her emotions into it, shaping the chaotic energy of desire and restraint, of wanting and holding back. The metal twisted in on itself, like a heartbeat caught mid-thunder, like hands reaching but never quite touching.

"It's captivating," Max murmured. "And unmistakably… personal."

Emily's heart stuttered. He wasn't just talking about the sculpture.

Max Blackwood's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. "That's a delicate way to explain your work it's attractive and was hard to miss ," he replied, his voice low and smooth. "I must say, your sculpture is quite... captivating."

James, sensing an opportunity, stepped forward. "Ah, Mr. Blackwood, I'm glad you're interested in Emily's work. We were just discussing the possibility of a sale."

Max's gaze never wavered from Emily's face. "I'm willing to make a substantial offer," he said, his voice confident. "But I'd like to discuss the details with the artist herself."

Emily's instincts told her to be cautious, but James's enthusiasm was infectious. She nodded, agreeing to hear Max out.

James decided to give Emily and Max the space to discuss walked out of the office,

Emily couldn't shake off the feeling that she was getting in over her head. Max Blackwood was a man who got what he wanted, and she wasn't sure if she could hit this deal with him of it took a different route, but she chose to belive their discussion would be business. had she known he was a big shot she wouldn't have done what she did with him but it was too late to regret it now she just hoped he wouldn't make mention of the night they shared together.

Emily alone with Max , her heart racing with anticipation.James had already briefed her on the potential sale, she would keep things strictly professional she had alot at hand to focus on and not dwell on the past, so what she had her first time with a stranger, she won't give herself away

Still sitted, the room office was quite until he broke it "Emily Wilson, I've seen your sculpture and like I kept saying it is captivating I would want more than buying your piece, I'd want to invest on you, be your sponsor you have potential and I'd like to see how far you can go" he paused giving her time to think, Emily was not expecting him to say that but it was even better of she was to have such an opportunity, but of course he wouldn't just give such such an opportunity without a catch this was business indeed.

"what is the catch, excuse my words If i interpreted your words wrong but I do belive it's not all there is to your proposal, there are conditions right? "she asked.

Max leaned forward, his elbows on the table. "there is indeed a catch, not everything come without a price say? Are you willing to risk it, what I need from you I'll only ask once you've gotten what you want then I'll get what I want, don't be a hurry yo make this decision as for this piece I'll surely have it. So what ever your decision is you meet me here, but of course you have a limited time to think on it." With that he added.

Emily hesitated, she was thinking about his offer should she take it? the benefit of having a sponsor wasn't something to just brush off. But something about Max's intense gaze wasn't helping much.

"Tell me more about turmoil "he suddenly asked changing the subject catching her off guard but she still went on to tell him more.

" It being about... restraint," he said, her voice barely above a whisper. "The struggle to hold back, to contain the emotions that threaten to consume us."

Max's eyes narrowed, his expression unreadable.his voice low and husky. "And what do you hope to achieve with this piece?"

Max's gaze lingered on hers, his eyes burning with an inner fire. "I think you've succeeded," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. "And I'm willing to pay for it"

As they negotiated the sale, Emily found herself drawn to Max's charismatic presence, his passion for art and life. But she couldn't shake off the feeling that he was a mystery and that there was more to his interest in her sculpture than met the eye.

As they finalized the deal. "I'll send my assistant to collect the sculpture tomorrow," he said, his voice confident.

As she left the office and meet up with James, Emily couldn't help but wonder what Max Blackwood would actually want for such an offer, And whether she'd be able to give him...
