Chapter 387: 387: Blue Orc?
As the group emerged from the tunnel, they found themselves in the eerie surroundings of the Forest of Grinning Orcas. The air was thick with tension, and the oppressive atmosphere weighed heavily on their shoulders as they cautiously made their way forward.
Suddenly, their progress was halted by the appearance of a towering figure standing before them. The creature was unlike anything they had ever seen, its skin a deep shade of blue and its muscular frame covered in coarse fur. Its eyes gleamed with a fierce intelligence, and its mouth twisted into a snarl as it bared its razor-sharp teeth.
The orc let out a guttural roar, its voice echoing through the forest as it prepared to attack. With lightning-fast reflexes, it lunged at the bus, its massive hands reaching out to grab hold of the vehicle.
The maze covering the orc's hands crackled with energy, arcs of lightning dancing across its surface as it prepared to unleash its devastating power. The intricate patterns of the maze seemed to pulse with a life of their own, glowing with an otherworldly light that illuminated the surrounding area.
With a deafening crash, the orc's hands collided with the bus, sending it flying through the air with a tremendous force. The vehicle shook violently as it soared through the forest, its metal frame groaning under the strain of the impact.
Caleb sprang into action, his mind racing as he searched for a way to protect his companions from harm. With a flick of his wrist, he summoned forth his gum gum rubber web, the sticky strands shooting out to ensnare his friends and hold them in place.
The web stretched taut as it absorbed the force of the impact, anchoring the group to the ground and preventing them from being thrown from the bus. Despite the ferocity of the orc's attack, Caleb's quick thinking had ensured their safety, at least for the moment.
As the dust settled and the echoes of the orc's roar faded into the distance, the group took a moment to catch their breath and assess their surroundings. Though the danger had passed for now, they knew that they could not afford to let their guard down once they exited the bus.
Inside the bus, the students found themselves in a state of disarray, their senses reeling from the recent attack. Dizziness washed over them like a heavy fog, clouding their minds and leaving them struggling to find their bearings amidst the chaos.
"Does anyone else feel dizzy?" one student asked, rubbing at their temples as they tried to shake off the lingering vertigo. "I feel like I'm going to be sick."
Another student glanced around the overturned bus, their eyes widening in horror as they took in the sight of the blood-smeared interior. "Whose blood is this?" they whispered, their voice trembling with fear. "Is anyone hurt?"
Pain radiated through their bodies, a relentless agony that seemed to pulse with every beat of their hearts. Some described it as a searing, burning sensation, while others likened it to a dull, throbbing ache that gnawed at their bones.
"It hurts everywhere," one student groaned, clutching at their side where a jagged piece of metal had left a deep gash. "I can't even move without feeling like I'm being torn apart."
Caleb's voice cut through the air, a stern reminder of the dangers that lurked outside the bus. "We need to be careful," he warned, his eyes scanning the darkened forest beyond the shattered windows. "That orc could still be out there, waiting to finish us off."
As they took stock of their surroundings, the students couldn't help but feel a sense of unease settle over them. The bus lay on its side, its twisted metal frame creaking ominously as if it might collapse at any moment.
"What kind of monster was that?" one student murmured, their voice trembling with uncertainty. "I've never seen anything like it before."
Caleb's expression darkened as he considered the question, his mind racing with the memory of the creature's lightning-covered mace and ferocious blue-skinned visage. "I don't know," he admitted. "But whatever it was, we need to stay vigilant. We can't afford to let our guard down, not for a second."
As the students struggled to make sense of their situation outside the overturned bus, their voices mingled with a sense of urgency and concern.
"Look at the bus," one student exclaimed, pointing towards the vehicle's slightly cracked frame. "It's barely holding together. We need to get out of here before it collapses completely."
With a collective effort, they worked together to pull their classmates out from the wreckage, their hands trembling with adrenaline as they helped each other to safety.
"It's Markus," someone whispered, their voice choked with emotion as they knelt beside the injured student. "He's hurt bad."
Markus lay on the ground, his face pale and drawn as he struggled to remain conscious. Blood seeped from the deep gashes on his side, staining the forest floor crimson.
"He's got gashes in his kidney and a brain aneurysm," another student reported, their voice trembling with fear. "We need to do something, fast."
"How did he get a brain aneurysm?" someone asked, their brow furrowed in confusion. "And why here, of all places?"
The question hung in the air, unanswered and unsettling as they struggled to come to terms with the severity of Markus's injuries.
"Poor Markus," another student murmured, their voice barely above a whisper. "He never stood a chance against that monster."

As they watched over their injured classmate, a sense of helplessness washed over them.
...
"He's gone," someone murmured, their voice thick with sorrow. "Markus... he didn't make it."
Markus's last words echoed in their minds, a haunting reminder of the danger that lurked in the forest. "He wanted the Orc dead," another student whispered, their voice trembling with grief and determination. "We have to honor his memory."
Erina stepped forward, her expression grave as she addressed the group. "Markus's death was caused by the Orc's attack," she explained, her voice steady despite the fear that gnawed at her insides. "The force of the impact triggered his brain aneurysm."
Shock and disbelief rippled through the group as they struggled to comprehend the enormity of what had happened. "So it was the Orc's fault?" someone asked, their voice tinged with anger.
Erina nodded solemnly. "Yes," she confirmed, her gaze unwavering as she met each of their eyes. "But we can't let fear or anger cloud our judgment. We need to stay focused and work together if we're going to get through this."
"We'll make sure the Orc pays for what it's done," one student vowed, their voice filled with determination. "For Markus."
