Chapter 5: Chapter 5: A Life-Saving Favor, Repaid with Flowing Gratitude
"Where's the child?" asked the Mother of the Sky.
Child? What child?
I'm still single!
Hermione nearly cursed out loud but controlled her emotions, considering that the young woman before her was essentially a disguised, ferocious Demonic Wolf. She took a deep breath and asked with a frown, "Child? What child?"
"You don't know?" The Mother of the Sky looked surprised, resting her delicate jade-like arm on her beautiful face. She gazed at Hermione with a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "'Lady Misfortune' has already declared to others that you are His concubine, His breeding partner to eliminate excess extraordinary characteristics..."
"Oh, right. You're human. Do you understand how to eliminate excess extraordinary characteristics through reproduction?"
Even in later eras when potion systems were established, extraordinaries would often consume multiple potions of the same pathway for various reasons. This led to difficulties in bearing the spiritual burden and mental strain, making it challenging to advance to higher sequences.
Reproducing could transfer excess characteristics of the same pathway to the child. Children born this way were innately extraordinary! It also purified the parent, eliminating excess extraordinary characteristics.
In the current Second Epoch, before the blasphemous slate had emerged, supernatural races and the rare human extraordinaries relied on instinct and luck to advance by consuming materials containing extraordinary characteristics.
Hermione had witnessed many of her companions who studied the extraordinary lose control and mutate after consuming unsuitable materials. Some even developed powers too strong for them to handle after transforming into monsters.
These out-of-control, fallen beings would mindlessly kill their companions, destroy secret research bases, and then wander the vast wilderness.
Hermione had seen too many tragic fates in her exploration of the extraordinary. Her survival was merely a stroke of extreme luck amidst these tragedies.
Hermione didn't know that reproduction could pass on extra Beyonder traits to children, but Zhou Mingxiang, who had watched the video with a strange origin, knew this.
Now that her souls had merged, Hermione even knew that in the lord of the mysterious world, reproduction was not the only way to produce extraordinary characteristics!
Resurrection from the dead, or the "Sun" can also precipitate extraordinary characteristics through some kind of purification ability!
But... what's the matter with "lady Misfortune" asking me to give birth to a child for Him? !
"Lady Misfortune" needs to eliminate extraordinary characteristics? This is the fundamental purpose of "lady Misfortune" taking me in?
Hermione's thoughts were flying for a while, and her brain almost crashed.
For these high-sequence subordinate gods, not to mention making women or females of other races pregnant, even making men pregnant is something they can do.
For extraordinary creatures that have reached a realm above demigod, gender no longer exists in the true sense, and their physiological structure is difficult to explain using common sense.
"Did 'Lady Misfortune' really say that?" Hermione asked skeptically, eyeing the young woman who was examining her with interest.
"Yes, my brother and I heard it ourselves," the Mother of the Sky bared her tee th Demonic Wolf-like. "In fact, 'Lady Misfortune' came specifically to warn my gluttonous brother..."
The Mother of the Sky leaned back in her slender frame and spread her hands, saying, "You've been living here for days now. You must have noticed that there are few willing to communicate here, and even fewer once you exclude those who deliberately avoid my father out of fear... Those capable of normal conversation are even rarer."
"Those Demonic Wolf with diluted bloodlines or inferior abilities can speak, but they can't suppress their mad nature enough to communicate properly."
Demonic Wolf and demons were indeed the most violent and difficult to communicate with among supernatural races. If not for Lady Misfortune's rescue, Hermione couldn't have imagined that there were individuals among Demonic Wolf capable of communication.
The Mother of the Sky before her was also able to maintain rationality for extended periods, communicating with Hermione instead of being driven by Demonic Wolfish instincts to hunt and pollute everything.
The Mother of the Sky scrutinized Hermione and spoke without restraint: "I would be quite willing to reproduce with 'Lady Misfortune'... The former 'Lady Misfortune' was as silent and elusive as a shadow, as uninteresting as the rest. But now, although still elusive, 'Lady Misfortune' seems more emotionally vivid, as if better able to control the Demonic Wolf instincts."
She paused, then added regretfully, "Unfortunately, He refused. Your appearance, however, has piqued 'Lady Misfortune's' interest. Could it be that 'Lady Misfortune' has a preference for humans?"
The brutal and crazy Demonic Wolf are not only not picky about food, but also about their breeding objects. This is inherited from the "Annihilation Demonic Wolf Flegrea
This Demonic Wolf also seemed to want to suppress his crazy nature, and was constantly reproducing offspring with different races, including giants, elves, and vampires from the pan-human camp, as well as dragons, phoenixes, and other non-human races.
But the effect is not obvious.
However, among some of the descendants of the "Annihilation Demonic Wolf Flegrea", there are a few who can remain sober and rational. The siblings of "Mother of Sky" are among these few.
"Do you think my current appearance would interest 'Lady Misfortune'?" the Demonic Wolf disguised as a human asked with an ambiguous smile, looking at Hermione expectantly.
How would I know... Hermione thought, while outwardly smiling brightly: "Why don't you stay and find out? By my calculations, Lady Misfortune should be back soon."
A life-saving favor should be repaid with flowing gratitude, but I never thought about repaying it with my body! Hermione thought to herself, shuddering at the idea of bearing children. She needed to find a way to dissuade Lady Lady Misfortune from this notion quickly!
Let someone who likes to give birth to her children come, such as the "Mother of the sky" in front of her!
Look at this title, how fitting!
"Then tell me, why would 'Lady Misfortune' consider you for reproduction? He's been so picky all these years, never showing such interest before. List some of your attractive points for me to consider," the Mother of the Sky said, quite intrigued.
Me? Attractive points? Besides being human, which obviously attracted "Lady Misfortune's" interest, Hermione couldn't think of anything else at the moment.
After pondering for a while, Hermione sighed and said, "Could it be my unparalleled beauty?"
The Mother of the Sky chuckled at this and examined Hermione, noting their similar black hair and eyes, flowing like a waterfall and bright as stars.
Pinching her handsome chin, the Mother of the Sky said after her assessment, "Your appearance... from a human perspective, could indeed be called beautiful. However, I'm a bit better. From this angle, I'm more confident in my ability to entice 'Lady Misfortune's' desire to reproduce."
Hermione felt helpless at this. She was only pretending to be narcissistic, while the one before her was truly self-absorbed.
Indeed, one can't compete with the mental state of an essentially mad Demonic Wolf...
However, this kind of rambling conversation always managed to dispel the Mother of the Sky's instinctive, subtle predatory malice at crucial moments, diverting her attention.
They continued their idle chat until they were nearly at their limit, and Hermione finally endured until "Lady Misfortune" returned home!
