Chapter 5: Five ways to say goodbye
To be honest, I have no clue how long it's been, I'm still on the moon, with the dog thing, I've been calling him soup, short for soupercalifragilisticexpialidocious…
But besides that, there really isn't much to do besides look up at the world, and that isn't really something that changes all the time you know?
Though, it seems the brothers, or some other beings, have actually been listening to all my complaints about how unrealistic it is here, because just a while ago, the world suddenly became fully round, and an atmosphere actually came into existence around it, hooray for them, I guess…
I also figured out how to manifest ghost clothes, so that, you know, I'm not naked all the time? I had a bit of fun figuring out what I want my look to be like, but got bored after realizing I could really only make basic t-shirts and jeans, no shoes, sadly, but maybe in the future, I'll figure out how to make that work…
Hmm… besides that, I haven't really had the capability to do anything, see, when I got anchored to the moon, my attachment point automatically corrected to the very center of the moon, and due to this I am constantly being pushed into the moon's surface, while being pulled out of it by the typically constant speed the moon is going at, and since the moon goes at the speed of a moon, and I go at the speed if a human who is also a ghost, I can't really do anything about moving, TLDR I'm constantly being pulled and pushed into the surface of the moon, and due to this, cannot move.
Soup has tried to carry me off but I just rebound right back into place…
So mostly I've just been playing eyespy, you know?
Well, and trying to stand, trying to do anything really, got really into beatboxing for a while, that pettered off, and then I tried building a world in my head, but eventually it got stale and stressful to think about where I should go next with the characters…
Can't really story board on a moon your possessing.
My eye sight's gotten really good though, they haven't taken the moon to a accurate length, but the earth or 'remnant' now orbits a probably much larger and more accurate star, so that's nice, stars still don't change tho, so that's ehh…
Oh they added the lunar cycle, so sometimes, I'm not being beamed in the eyes with solar rays 24 hours of the day! Or night? Since it's the moon? Ehh, it doesn't matter, what does is this.
The brothers are still alive, and one of these days I am going to get off this hunk of nothing, and fucking, I don't know, call them names? Or somethin…
Oh hey, a bright light on remnant, I wonder what th - OH MY GO-
It was then to my shock, that the moon exploded. And suddenly, I was as light as a feather, finally free from the torture of that damned place!
But what about soup?
I looked around, but didn't spot him, I tried to move my body, but went too fast and ended up almost going deeper into space. As I finally got my movement about me again, I started looking for him, I went in the way I knew he went every time he left my side.
I roamed for what felt like hours, but was probably minutes… hoping and praying that I was wrong, and he would be alright. But as I crested another hill, I found, the destroyed remains of a massive pool of black ichor… for some reason, not obeying the laws of physics and floating about, but instead staying in one spot as the rest of the area around it floated freely.
There was no evidence that anything had been here, except for a countless number of foot prints, his footprints… all walking too the shore of the pool and into the distance, where I was laying…
….
….
I floated there, for a very long time.
And then began following the paw prints of the other paths he had trod. The first I followed wrapped around until the it reached a spot the moon had shattered. On the other side of the still not broken part of the moon, was another path of paw prints, going in the direction of where I once layed… he, did that a lot, ran circles around the moon. Most of the rest of the paths were the same. Most going back to me, the rest going back to that pool.
It was this moment that truly made the fact that I could do nothing, apperant.
It was like I could see him… feel his tongue scraping against my face…
My thoughts had filled with static as I listlessly wandered the moon, I didn't even realize at the time that the celestial object had stopped moving…
Eventually, I found myself above that pool of blackness. And found myself dropping into it.
I dropped for a seemingly endless amount of time, just, sinking again…
That seems to be, the only thing I'm good for, huh? Just, falling.
And falling..
And falling.
And falling
and falling
and falling
and falling
And-
My back seared in a new pain, as I fell on top of a massive rock, but that's not right.
I can't interact with anything in this world, why would this thing I'm on be any different…?
I didn't even bother to look at it, as I felt that I could anchor myself onto it, I did so with no hesitation.
'Might as well be attached to the only part of him remaining…'
As I did so, my thoughts became hazier and hazier, I closed my eyes and for the first time in an endless amount of time.
I truly slept.
