Worried that Qiu Tu might have a burden on his mind or be scared, he took a risk in disclosing the content of the meeting to Qiu Tu — wanting to use Yan Chen's affirmation to ease Qiu Tu's inner anxiety.

His purpose in doing this was similar to last time when he leaked information to Qiu Tu during "Yin Caimei's death."

He indeed was a confidant of Yan Chen, but... he also remembered the life-saving grace Qiu Tu had extended to him. So, without going against his conscience, he was willing to give Qiu Tu a bit more help.
