Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 190: 2nd Phase's end (1)

After everyone was sure that their skills were at level 5, nobody did any extra work.

Because If someone were to get a new skill in the last month, then things could get a lot ugly.

Lucas was restrained against his will even though he wanted to try so many new things.

It was for his own good, if he was to get any more skills, then all this handwork would have been for naught.

A month had passed and Lucas could be seen looking at his status screen. Anticipation written all over his face.

Only a day was left till the 2nd phase was over and everyone was ready.

"Alright everyone, listen carefully." John clapped his hands twice in order to get everyone's attention.

Every eye in the shelter went toward the man which made him finally talk.

"Don't touch anything, don't think of anything unnecessary, just stay still and wait for the countdown to stop. Then, finally…" There was a small stop that others seemed to understand and respond with a sigh, "The phase will be over and we can finally relax. Or also wait for the other one."

Lucas felt like John said that to lighten the mood but then thought that there could be a hidden meaning or value or warning in his tone.

"We are sitting here like this after such a long time… its really been a long time huh," Haley said with a smile.

They all had been training and because training was done better alone, no one interacted much with each other other than the meals.

And now that they were together and going to be like this for a long day, they couldn't help but feel satisfied. The phase was going to get over, they were all leveled up with each responsibility they got from the shelter completed.

In this month, the only big responsibility other than leveling the skills up was to make the metal bricks.

They had a very bad time figuring that out but by making some of the many things that were needed to process the ore and many failed tries. The bricks just started forming.

With John and Daryl's help, a furnace was made with clay which they found near the river's bank.

Molding it was very easy and the furnace was the first of the many creations that they had to come up with.

Some of the basic tools like hammers, tonsils, and many more were needed yet they couldn't just make these things out of wood. They had to make something sturdy and with Daryl's help and a lot of charity-given food, they were able to come up with a lot of stuff. Mostly made by Daryl.

Long story short, with a lot of molds made of sand and clay, the bricks were ready, they were crude yet still considered as bricks by the shelter.

With all this, they were done with the upgrade in only half a month, the upgrade was not much other than some major changes in the storage room and the workstation.

The storage room expanded a little and now, the room was even cooler which was deduced to have happened from whether the sand or the metal they gave.

The technicality was handled by John and he didn't know much about this kind of stuff so they had to let it go. Reaping the benefits of labor was much more pretty than actually going through the process.

And for the workstation, let's just say that the small kiln-type furnace they made was now useless compared to what lay in the workstation.

There was a furnace in the left to center wall which looked very durable and easy to use. It had a compartment where all the smoke or heat generated inside the furnace would just get out with the help of those magical ventilators that no matter how much everyone tried, they couldn't find where it was coming out of.

As said before, the group didn't go much into the technicality and just reaped the benefit.

And now, after all types of hellish hard work, they could finally take a day of rest with nothing to worry about except actually doing something and ruining everything by getting a reward in the end.

There were no monster attacks near the shelter or when they traveled far. It was like everything alive was just gone.

"How is the big guy doing now? He doesn't fit in your lap now, does he?" Jerry asked Ella who had a somewhat large bear on her right.

The bear-looking creature was none other than the Basilon kid that they had rescued. Ella had taken care of it a lot.

"Yeah, it's only been a few months and he is this big, how will you sit on mommy's lap now, how will I coddle you now huh, good boy?" Ella started playing with the Basilon kid and the creature seemed to enjoy the many pats while it had its tongue out in playfulness.

Lucas could only smile while looking at the goofy creature. It looked tough with its new 6 feet height and weight of around 100 kgs but it was still a child that sought attention from absolutely everyone.

"Are you sure that he has all his skills at level 5, Mom? I kind of don't want him to die." Barney said while looking at the creature with pity. It was so happy yet so dumb at the same time.

The group had struggled with his leveling but a good thing had happened this month too.

"How rude! He is not going to die, I checked his status many times already."

HHHOUUUUUU!

The basilon screamed with its high-pitched voice as if imitating Ella which did not seem to match its size making everyone break into a laugh while looking at him all angry.

The good thing that happened this month was that Ella got a new skill at the right time, Beast taming!

It was by the will of the Basilon kid that it happened broadening everyone's horizons about the skills and the systems knowledge even further.
