Chapter 513: I Know My Limits!
Chapter 513: I Know My Limits!
Elder Ming’s forehead was drenched in cold sweat as he urged, “Your Highness, please be careful!”
Lin Fengmian calmly replied, “Don’t worry, I know my limits!”
Upon hearing this, Elder Ming broke out in a cold sweat.
The last time he said that he knew his limits, what had he done?
At that moment, the pampered snow lion finally remembered that it was a demon beast, not a house cat.
With a roar, its demonic energy surged, and it leaped out of the water, pouncing toward Lin Fengmian.
Its size had doubled, and its fur was bristling as if it intended to bite Lin Fengmian to death.
After all, it had never suffered such a humiliation before. So what if it had bitten someone to death?
It had done it before!
Did the snow lion not roar because it was a sick cat?
Chunyan shouted in alarm, “No!”
Lin Fengmian’s lips curled into a faint smile as he stood his ground, watching the beast charge at him with ferocity.
You Yao reached out with a phantom hand and grabbed the snow lion in mid-air. No matter how much it struggled, it couldn’t break free.
Lin Fengmian said coldly, “This beast has gone insane. It even tried to kill me. It cannot be allowed to live. Kill it!”
You Yao looked at him in shock, clearly reluctant to carry out the order.
A flash of killing intent crossed Lin Fengmian’s eyes as he leaped into the air. With a heavy swing of his folding fan, he struck the snow lion’s head.
There was a sickening crack as the restrained snow lion’s skull was shattered by the blow.
Its body convulsed, its head drooping limply as blood began to seep from its mouth, nose, and ears.
Chunyan wailed as if mourning the death of a parent, throwing herself onto the snow lion and crying hysterically.
Lin Fengmian kicked her and coldly said, “Who told you to stop? Keep slapping yourself!”
Terrified of meeting the same fate as the snow lion, Chunyan began slapping herself with renewed vigor, the sound echoing loudly.
Lin Fengmian turned to the maids and ordered, “What are you standing around for? Bring me a roasting rack! The rest of you, get back to work!”
Fifteen minutes later, Ding Wanqiu arrived at Chunhua Garden after receiving the news. As soon as she entered, she was hit by the overwhelming smell of roasted meat.
There, the despicable Jun Wuxie was sitting proudly, holding a golden-brown roasted leg of meat and eating it with relish.
When Chunyan saw Ding Wanqiu, she didn’t stop slapping herself but looked at her with pitiful eyes.
Ding Wanqiu’s expression darkened as she saw Chunyan’s bruised and swollen face. She sternly said, “Stop!”
Chunyan, her face swollen like a pig’s, mumbled through her tears, “Your Majesty!”
Seeing her arrival, Lin Fengmian stood up, still holding the roasted leg, and bowed. “Your son greets the Queen Mother.”
Ding Wanqiu was furious and glared at Lin Fengmian. “What is the meaning of this?”
Lin Fengmian nonchalantly replied, “This maid showed no respect for hierarchy and dared to defy me. I was merely disciplining her.”
Chunyan immediately shouted, “Your Majesty, I’m innocent! I was just taking Xue Tuan for a walk when His Highness Wuxie attacked me for no reason.”
She sobbed, “My life is worthless, but His Highness also killed Xue Tuan! I have failed you, Your Majesty!”
Ding Wanqiu’s eyes widened in shock. She looked around and shouted, “What? Where is Xue Tuan?”
Lin Fengmian took a satisfying bite of the roasted leg and smiled. “Your Majesty, it’s right here. The meat is quite tender. Would you like to try it?”
Ding Wanqiu stared at the roasted leg, its exterior crispy and interior tender, and staggered back in disbelief, looking as if she might vomit.
“You! You! How dare you kill my Xue Tuan?”
Lin Fengmian calmly replied, “Your Majesty, this beast tried to bite anyone it saw. If it weren’t for You Yao, I might have been injured today.”
“I saw that this beast was untamable and feared that it would harm others again, so I had it killed. Otherwise, people might think that you were condoning its violent behavior”.
Ding Wanqiu gritted her teeth. “Jun Wuxie, you have a lot of nerve! I think you did this on purpose to spite me!”
Lin Fengmian suddenly laughed, his smile radiant. “Your Majesty has seen through me. I won’t pretend anymore.”
“Yes, I did it on purpose. This beast bit my mother, and it deserved to die. I killed it. What can you do about it?”
Ding Wanqiu was furious. “How dare you! Guards, arrest this rebellious son!”
Two elderly maids stepped forward behind her, ready to apprehend Lin Fengmian.
Lin Fengmian looked at Ding Wanqiu with defiance, his eyes filled with a mad glee.
“Your Majesty, think carefully. If you touch me, I will fight you and Jun Yunzheng to the death.”
Ding Wanqiu was even more enraged. “You dare to threaten me?”
Lin Fengmian’s eyes were wild, but his smile was gentle as he bared his teeth.
“Yes. If you dare to lay a finger on my mother again, I will make sure that you regret it. Consider this interest!”
With a flick of his wrist, he opened the folding fan and swiftly slashed it across Chunyan’s neck. The sharp edge of the fan cut deeply and blood gushed out.
Unable to stop the bleeding, Chunyan clutched her neck and collapsed to the ground. She died in disbelief, never imagining that Lin Fengmian would kill her in front of Ding Wanqiu.
Lin Fengmian snapped his fan shut and smiled. “Did you think that I spared her out of respect for you? That I was being considerate of her master?”
“I just wanted to kill her in front of you. Your Majesty, you should keep a closer eye on your dogs. I won’t be so polite next time.”
He bowed gracefully and said with a smile, “If there’s nothing else, Your Majesty, I’ll take my leave.”
With that, he strode away, completely disregarding Ding Wanqiu’s authority.
Ding Wanqiu was momentarily stunned by the madness in his eyes before she exploded in rage.
“This is rebellion! Seize this rebellious son!”
But the two maids, seeing You Yao and Elder Ming standing ready, didn’t dare to move.
“Your Majesty, it’s unwise. Even if we catch him, the king will probably let him off lightly. It would only displease the king.”
Ding Wanqiu looked at the charred remains of Xue Tuan and Chunyan’s lifeless body, her expression dark.
Meanwhile, Lin Fengmian stepped out of Chunhua Garden and handed the Snow Lion Core to You Yao.
“Take this to my mother. It will help her detoxify faster.”
Elder Ming and You Yao were both taken aback. They hadn’t expected this madman to be thinking of his mother’s well-being amidst his rampage.
Had he killed the snow lion just to obtain its core and ease Consort Xuan’s suffering?
Without a word, You Yao took the core and left, her expression less icy than before.
As soon as Lin Fengmian returned to his manor, an edict arrived from King Jun Qingsheng.
The Thirteenth Prince, Jun Wuxie, was to be confined to his quarters for three days for disrespecting the queen.
This symbolic punishment made everyone realize that Jun Wuxie was not to be trifled with.
Who knew when he might go mad and kill someone? And would the king just give him another light punishment?
Soon after, news spread that Crown Prince Jun Yunzheng had been ordered to return to the Junyan Imperial Palace, sending shock waves through the Heavenly Grace Dynasty.
Was the king afraid that Jun Yunzheng would harm Jun Wuxie, so he sent him away?
