Joining the Joyful Union Sect, My Life in the Grip of My Senior Sister

Chapter 322: Kindred Spirits?

Chapter 322: Kindred Spirits?

Jun Chengye believed that under the current circumstances where he held the upper hand, the generous terms he was offering were already giving his sisters substantial face.

All Lin Fengmian wanted was to enter Junlin City, accompany Jun Yunshang to help her receive a king title at court, and gain an audience with the Heaven-Soaring Sword Saint.

After all, Jun Yunshang’s goal was only a king title, not the throne itself.

If she agreed to withdraw, he could escort her into Junlin City, fulfilling his promise to her.

Lin Fengmian was genuinely curious about how the world would change once Jun Chengye ascended the throne.

After all, unless Jun Chengye were reborn, there was no way he could compare to Feng Yao, the Empress of Heaven.

Lin Fengmian’s purpose for being here was to defy fate for Luo Xue, so he didn’t care one bit about changing history.

Ultimately, however, the decision rested with the two princesses by his side. After all, he had also made a promise to Jun Fengya.

He turned to Jun Yunshang and Jun Fengya with a faint smile. “What do you two think?”

Jun Yunshang looked at Lin Fengmian hesitantly, her voice nervous. “Young Master Ye, what do you think?”

“It’s not about what I think, it’s about what you want!” Lin Fengmian replied harshly.

Jun Yunshang shrank back, her head drooping. She murmured an aggrieved “Oh,” her brows furrowing in thought.

She turned to Jun Chengye and asked, “Fourth Brother, is Elder Huang in your custody?”

“Huang Gongwang?”

Jun Chengye’s expression turned peculiar, but he nodded his head. “Indeed, he is. If Little Sister and Ninth Sister agree not to fight for the throne, I will return him to you.”

Jun Yunshang nodded immediately. “Fourth Brother, I agree!”

Jun Chengye shook his head and pointed at Jun Fengya. “The decision has to be mutual!”

What he cared about was Jun Fengya, not the meek and harmless Jun Yunshang.

Jun Yunshang looked at Jun Fengya pleadingly, but Jun Fengya remained unmoved, lost in contemplation.

Jun Chengye didn’t rush her. Instead, he turned to Lin Fengmian, cupped his hands, and said, “You must be Ye Xuefeng, Young Master Ye. I’ve admired your reputation for a long time.”

Lin Fengmian replied indifferently, “And I’ve heard a lot about you, Fourth Prince.”

“Now that we’ve met, I must say that you exceed my expectations – flexible and adaptable. I’m impressed.”

Jun Chengye was momentarily taken aback, only to follow Lin Fengmian’s gaze to the city wall where Xu Zhibai stood. His smile froze.

Maintaining his composure, he said stiffly, “You flatter me, Young Master Ye. In fact, I believe we are kindred spirits.”

“I have always enjoyed fine wine, and I hear that you share the same passion. I’ve prepared a rare vintage especially for you.”

Lin Fengmian glanced at Xu Zhibai again, shook his head repeatedly, and said, “Not kindred spirits-not at all.”

“This ‘top-grade vintage,’ Your Highness should enjoy it yourself. I am just a coarse man who is not used to such sophistication.”

As a fellow man, Jun Chengye immediately understood the underlying meaning of Lin Fengmian’s words.

Having his sore spots poked time and again, even his excellent upbringing couldn’t prevent his handsome face from darkening slightly. He decided that it wasn’t worth the effort to keep trying to be friendly.

“You are remarkably aloof, Young Master Ye. It’s truly regrettable. Perhaps we can be friends in the future.”

Lin Fengmian offered no response and turned his attention to Jun Fengya, awaiting her decision.

Jun Fengya was caught in an internal struggle, torn and indecisive.

There was no denying that Jun Chengye’s offer was incredibly tempting.

Jun Chengye had three Void Realm cultivators on his side. Even if she entered the city, victory was far from guaranteed.

If she accepted the title of a king, she could escape her family’s control and gain true independence.

But with the throne so tantalizingly close, it felt unbearable to leave.

She looked at Lin Fengmian and asked hesitantly, “Young Master Ye, if I refuse, will you protect me when I enter the city?”

Lin Fengmian took a leisurely sip from his flask, his demeanor calm and carefree. “Since I’ve given my word, I won’t break it.”

Jun Fengya smiled brightly. “Alright! Then I’ll rely on you, young master.”

Lin Fengmian nodded slightly. “It’s no trouble at all.”

Jun Chengye sighed in disappointment. “It seems that this battle is inevitable. I really wanted to avoid fratricide.”

“Enough talk, Fourth Prince. Let actions speak louder than words!”

Lin Fengmian had no interest in deciphering whether Jun Chengye’s words were genuine or not. His sole focus was on escorting the two princesses into the city and fulfilling his task.

Behind Jun Chengye, the burly Xu Su, let out a hearty laugh. “I’ve been wanting to skip this conversation for a long time. Come, let’s settle this with strength!”

Xu Su spread his hands, and a vast yellow domain stretching 400 zhang unfurled, intricate runes glowing across its expanse.

Being only in the mid-stage Void Realm, his domain was limited by his cultivation, though with greater power it could have been even larger.

This domain, built with the wealth of an imperial prince, was leagues beyond Luo Zhiyi’s, whose limitations were due to a lack of resources rather than strength.

Beside him, Ding Fuxia extended his own white domain, covering over 500 zhang and encompassing Lin Fengmian and his companions. Coldly, he looked at Lin Fengmian and said, “You’ll regret this!”

Shaking his head in mild exasperation, Jun Chengye released his own domain. Although it was comparatively small at around 100 zhang, it was more than sufficient to overlap with the others and envelop Lin Fengmian’s group.

With all three domains in place, the trio floated in midair, radiating power like deities, their domains overlapping and complementing each other to exert immense pressure on Lin Fengmian and his group.

The crowd whispered among themselves:

“Three Void Realm domains stacked together, how long has it been since we’ve seen a clash of this level?”

“Witnessing a battle between Void Realm experts makes this trip worthwhile!”

“That young man surnamed Ye was a bit reckless. Battles in the Void Realm are fundamentally different from those below – this is a battle of riches!”

“Exactly! Think about Luo Zhiyi; for all his arrogance and talent, he still succumbed due to lack of Dao Crystals. In the end, it cost him his life”.

“No matter how gifted that boy is, without sufficient resources to support his domain, he’ll lose.”

Amidst the murmuring, Jun Chengye smiled confidently and addressed Lin Fengmian. “Young Master Ye, I’ve only been in the Void Realm for a few days, yet my domain already covers 100 zhang.”

“Your talent is greater than mine, and it pains me to think that a lack of resources might limit your potential.”

“Young Master Ye, there’s still time to change your mind. My door will always be open for you.”

Lin Fengmian chuckled softly, shaking his head. “Sorry, but I’m not interested in men. And luckily, I don’t have that problem right now.”

Jun Chengye’s patience finally ran out. He sighed. “Then let’s settle this by force.”

Xu Su laughed wildly. “Kid, it’s too late for regrets now!”

Fan Qiongyin’s expression turned grave as she stepped in front of Jun Fengya and Jun Yunshang. She spread her arms, unfurling a 400-zhang cyan domain to shield them.

Although at the fourth level of the Void Realm, her strength couldn’t quite match Ding Fuxia’s, she was on par with Xu Su.

“Master Ye, protect them for a moment, I will take the lead!”
