Chapter 24: The summoner 3

"Man, I'm starving," Dante muttered, running a hand through his hair.

"Didn't we just eat?" Momo asked, walking up beside him with Asuna in tow.

"A couple of fish isn't enough for me," Dante replied, scanning the bustling town around them for a lead.

First things first, he needed directions. Spotting a few workers on the dock, he headed over to ask, his mind already on the next step of his plan. It didn't take long to locate his destination—the Arms Shop.

A storied weapon store in business for over two centuries, it housed two very special swords that Dante was determined to claim.

Before stepping inside, he made a quick purchase from the system store: a couple of fake gold bars. They looked indistinguishable from real gold, crafted from a mix of gold and silver, but the illusion came at a cost 25 credits only leaving him 75 credits left. Sliding the bars into his inventory, Dante grinned. Worth it.

The shop itself was impressive. Weapons and armor lined every wall and shelf: katanas, straight swords, flintlocks, rifles, chainmail, and full plate armor. Yet, Dante's attention went straight to a dusty corner of the shop, where barrels of unwanted, dust-covered swords sat untouched. Even from the entrance, he could feel the bloodlust radiating from one of them.

Right on target.

Behind the counter sat the shopkeeper, a short man with dusky skin, a balding head, and tufts of black hair at the sides. His red nose gave him a perpetually irritated look.

"Hey," Dante called out, striding up to the counter. "I'm looking to buy a couple of swords."

The shopkeeper blinked, then offered a wide, practiced grin. "Welcome! Feel free to browse. Take a look at anything that catches your eye."

Dante nodded but didn't linger. He turned and walked straight to the corner, toward the barrels of unwanted blades.

The shopkeeper's polite grin faltered into a grimace. It shifted again when Dante reached into one of the barrels and pulled out a crimson-hilted sword with a matching red sheath. The bloodlust from the blade surged as Dante gripped it. It was almost alive, testing him.

"W-wait!" the shopkeeper sputtered, his calm demeanor replaced with panic. "Not that one! It's not for sale! It's—"

"Cursed, right?" Dante interrupted with a grin. He unsheathed the blade, inspecting the razor-sharp edge glinting in the shop's light. "I could feel it from outside. This is Sandai Kitetsu, isn't it?"

The man gaped. "You knew?"

"Anyone with half a brain could sense it," Dante replied, casually ignoring the sword's hostility as if it were a mild breeze. "I'll take it."

The shopkeeper shook his head vehemently. "No! I can't sell that sword! Every person who's wielded it has met a terrible end! If you die because of it, the blame would be on me!"

Dante chuckled, the idea of a test forming in his mind. "How about we see if it'll even let me die?"

The shopkeeper blinked, confused, as Dante tossed the blade into the air.

"Wait, wait, WAIT! That sword will slice your arm clean off!" the man shouted, panic overtaking him.

The blade spun through the air, gleaming as it plummeted toward Dante's outstretched arm.

In an instant, the sword's trajectory shifted. It narrowly missed his forearm and embedded itself into the floor with a metallic thud, sliding clean through to the hilt.

Dante smirked satisfied.

"Good boy," he muttered, retrieving the blade and sliding it back into its sheath. Turning to the shopkeeper, he grinned. "Like I said, I'm taking this sword."

The shopkeeper stared at him, speechless for a moment, before breaking into a wide grin. "Wait here, boy!"

Moments later, the man returned, carrying something wrapped in a luxurious purple cloth. He set it on the counter and unveiled a gleaming black and gold sword resting on a polished stand.

"This," the shopkeeper began, holding the blade reverently, "is Yubashiri, one of the fifty Skillful Grade swords. The black lacquer sheath and uneven temper pattern make it a masterpiece. This is the finest weapon in my shop—better than that Sandai Kitetsu you just picked up."

The bloodlust from Sandai Kitetsu flared at the declaration, its displeasure almost palpable.

"How about it?" The shopkeeper's eyes locked onto Dante's. "You said you were looking for two swords, right? Take this one with you. You've got the look of someone who'll make proper use of it."

Dante's grin widened.

Sorry, Zoro, but I'm not the kind of guy to pass up an opportunity like this, he thought.

He accepted.

-later-

An hour later, Dante sat comfortably in a local restaurant, a plate of steaming food in front of him. Momo was seated to his right, Asuna to his left.

Sandai Kitetsu and Yubashiri, both sheathed and radiating their distinct auras, hung over his shoulders. As he took another bite, Dante opened his system menu, pulling up the descriptions of his new blades. His gaze flicked between them, comparing their stats to his trusty Shortsword of Agility.

"Where are we going next?" Asuna's voice broke through his thoughts.

Dante leaned back in his chair, finishing the last bite of his food. "Don't know," he said simply.

But then, an idea hit him. His smirk returned. "What if we start hunting pirates?"

Momo raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Pirates?"

"Yeah," Dante said, leaning forward. "Think about it. There's good money in it. We'll clear out some trash and fill our pockets in the process. Win-win."

Asuna tilted her head, considering it. "Sounds dangerous."

"Dangerous is what we do." Dante grinned, standing up and slinging the swords over his back. "Besides, with these two beauties on my back, I think we'll be just fine."

Momo chuckled. "If you say so. Guess we're bounty hunters now."

"Don't get too arrogant" Asuna warrants as she gets up as they follow.

-Random pirate - 2 months later-

The pirate stumbled through the dense forest, his breath ragged, heart pounding in his chest as fear gripped his soul. His captain's defiant smirk and the laughter of his crewmates haunted his mind, their severed heads now on top of spikes the image flashing through his mind. Tears streamed down his face as he pushed his legs to move faster, desperate to escape.

They had come here with the intentions to plunder the island. This island was supposed to be with no marines in sight. They had been so wrong.

His legs ached, and every breath felt like fire. The forest seemed to grow darker the further he ran, the thick canopy above blotting out the light. He strained his ears, but there were no footsteps behind him, no rustling of leaves, only an unnatural silence that sent a chill down his spine.

Then, in that fleeting moment of relief, he felt it.

A cold, sharp pain exploded through his chest. His body froze mid-step, his knees buckling as he looked down in horror. A crimson-red blade jutted out from his chest, the hilt humming with a sinister aura. Blood poured from the wound, staining the forest floor beneath him.

He couldn't even scream.

The last thing the pirate saw as his vision blurred was the figure of a man stepping into view behind him, the cursed sword in his hand. The man smirk was colder than the blade that had punctured his heart.

"You should've stayed out of my way," the man muttered, pulling the blade free in one smooth motion. The pirate's body crumpled to the ground, lifeless.

-Dante-

The bloodlust radiating from Sandai Kitetsu seemed to intensify, its crimson hilt gleaming faintly as if feeding off the carnage. Dante wiped the blade clean with a flick of his wrist and slid it back into its sheath. He glanced at the lifeless body before him, exhaling through his nose.

"Another one bites the dust," he muttered, crouching down to grab the body. With a faint shimmer, it disappeared into his inventory.

Emerging from the forest, Dante spotted Asuna and Momo waiting by the shoreline, both standing casually near their small boat. Momo gave him a slight nod, her sharp eyes scanning his blood-streaked form, while Asuna smirked knowingly.

"I'm done with the last one," Dante said plainly, his tone devoid of any satisfaction.

They both nodded in acknowledgment, saying nothing as Dante moved toward the scattered remains of the pirates they had wiped out. One by one, with a flick of his hand and a slight shimmer, the bodies vanished into his inventory.

With a final swipe of Sandai Kitetsu, Dante cut deep into the hull of the pirate ship docked on the shore. The blade's cursed edge sliced through the wood like butter, and the boat groaned under its weight before splitting apart and collapsing into the water. The wreckage began to sink into the sea, leaving no trace of the pirate crew's presence.

"All right," Dante muttered, dusting off his hands as he turned toward the small vessel they'd bought a while ago. He hopped aboard, watching as Momo settled near the rudder and Asuna stepped up front.

"Where's the nearest marine base?" Dante asked, glancing over at Momo.

Momo pulled out a map, her finger tracing over the worn parchment. "About a day's sail northeast," she replied, her voice calm and efficient.

Dante nodded, sitting down and opening his system menu. As the boat gently rocked, he browsed through his stats, curious about how much he'd grown in the two months he'd been hunting pirates.

His stats were all well into the double digits now, each reflecting the grueling battles and constant training he'd endured. Only his magic remained disappointingly low.

Dante Verga

Race: Human

Body: 54

Mind: 28

Spirit: 31

Magic: 12

Credit: 75

"Tch," Dante muttered to himself. Gotta figure out a way to level that up soon.

Asuna raised her hand, a faint glow of energy swirling around her fingers. With a quick incantation, the boat surged forward as if propelled by an unseen wind. The water parted smoothly as the trio began their journey toward the marine base.

Dante leaned back, resting his hand on Sandai Kitetsu's hilt as the boat sped across the waves. He could already feel the anticipation building.

-later-

As Dante, Momo, and Asuna approached the Marine base, they could see the fortified structure rising against the horizon. The scent of salt and sea lingered in the air as they docked their small boat and made their way to the base.

The guards, standing at attention, eyed them cautiously, but Dante didn't waste any time. He approached the entrance with the calm confidence of someone who had done this before, pulling out the bloody pirate bodies from his inventory and setting them on the ground before the officers.

"Here," Dante said with a smirk, "Pirates. Dead. Want them verified?"

The Marine officer looked at the bodies in disbelief before his eyes flicked back to Dante, sizing him up.

"You're the one who took these down?" the officer asked, his voice tinged with suspicion.

Dante nodded, motioning toward Momo and Asuna. "We've been hunting pirates for the past couple of months. I'm here for the bounty."

The officer glanced over at his superior, who came over to inspect the bodies. After a moment of close inspection, the senior officer spoke.

"These are genuine," he muttered. "You're looking for the bounty payouts, right?"

Dante nodded again, unfazed.

"Alright, you're due a pretty hefty reward for these." The officer looked over the paperwork as the other Marines began gathering the bodies for further verification. "You've got at least three pirates with notable bounties here. Looks like your total payout will be... 500,000 berries."

Dante's smirk deepened at the number, but he didn't let on how pleased he was. Instead, he simply gave a nod. "Good. We'll take it."

Asuna gave him a small nod in approval. "At least that's one of our goals completed."

The Marine officers handed Dante the agreed-upon payout, and he took it without hesitation, tucking the money into his jacket.

-later-

As Dante lay sprawled on the hotel bed, he flipped through the bounty posters he had collected over the past couple of months. Each pirate face stared back at him, promising riches or danger, but none managed to hold his attention for long. Boredom set in as the hours stretched on.

He sighed and reached into his inventory. Among the assortment of items, three summoning tokens gleamed faintly. "Might as well use one," he muttered to himself, pulling one out.

With a flick of his wrist, the token disintegrated into shimmering particles, filling the room with an ethereal light. Dante sat up as the light began to coalesce, forming a figure in the center of the room.

When the glow subsided, standing before him was a breathtaking young woman with a voluptuous figure and an air of nobility. Her wavy vermilion hair fell in perfect cascades around her shoulders, and her striking yellow eyes met his with a mixture of curiosity and shyness. She wore an elegant, almost regal outfit: a cream-colored sweater, a brown corset, and white puffy shorts. Her knee-high boots were tied neatly with strings, and she adorned small, jewel-like red earrings that gleamed under the dim hotel lighting.

For a moment, the two simply stared at each other, the tension in the air palpable. Then, her gaze softened, and her cheeks turned a rosy hue. She bowed her head slightly, her voice soft yet filled with respect.

"Master," she said, addressing him with clear understanding. "I am Mimosa Vermillion. I have been summoned to serve you."

Dante raised an eyebrow but couldn't suppress the smirk that tugged at his lips.

[Mimosa Vermillion]

[Abilities: Healing Magic, Plant Magic, True Plant Magic, Creation Magic, Reinforcement Magic, Ultimate Magic, Mana Method

Equipment: Grimoire]

"Impressive," Dante said, his tone casual but clearly pleased. "Your abilities will definitely come in handy."

Mimosa straightened, her blush deepening at his approval. "I am at your service, Master. Please, command me as you see fit."

Dante's gaze swept over her body.

-Mimosa-

As Mimosa's blush deepened under Dante's gaze, the tension in the room grew thicker. She felt a warmth rising to her cheeks as his piercing eyes lingered on her. It was unlike anything she had experienced before an intensity that both unnerved and intrigued her.

Dante smirked as he stepped closer, his confidence unshaken. Mimosa's breath hitched as he closed the distance between them, her golden eyes widening. Before she could say a word, his lips met hers in a sudden, daring kiss.

For a moment, she was too shocked to respond, her mind reeling. But then, something inside her melted. The initial surprise faded, replaced by an unfamiliar warmth that spread through her chest. Her hands found their way to his shoulders as she leaned into him.

The kiss deepened, and the two lost themselves in the moment, their connection solidifying in ways words could not express.

As he pushed her to the bed her master got on top of her pushing his tongue even deeper.

For the next couple of hours, you can only hear moans coming out of Dante leaving two confused girls in the opposite room.

XxX

Decided to cut a here did not felt like riding smut right now. There's a reason why Mimosa was so easy but it's going to be explained in future chapters. Don't know what direction I'm gonna take the story so I'll stop riding for now I try to think of an idea on how to continue.
