Chapter 173: Players Re-enter the Immortal Realm! (Two-in-one, vote!)
"Ah! Ahhh!!"
"Mmm hmm... Ahhh!!"
Under the cover of nightfall, harrowing screams of agony emanated from the fourth-floor attic of Jack's mansion.
A nearby residential area.
Six players were chatting over tea on the sofas in the ground floor hall.
Upon hearing the faintly discernible screams, they looked at each other in bewilderment.
"Did you all hear that?"
Horseman asked.
"Yes, it sounds like someone is screaming."
Wei Yin, holding her iced milk tea, stirred it with a spoon and whispered softly.
"Do the voices sound like Doghead Gold and Forget No Taboo?"
Polaris slightly furrowed his brow.
Su Keying glanced at him.
"It does seem like that... What on earth happened?"
She rubbed the goosebumps on her arm.
"Could it be that they have been caught by Jack and are now undergoing torture?!"
"It's possible, given they were involved in activities against the organization and their Affection dropped to disdain. Jack might not kill them but a lesson is likely."
Dongyang said with a light laugh, sipping his tea.
"To be that painful? Just lower the game's pain sensitivity to the minimum..."
Chenxi frowned slightly.
"Who knows what bizarre methods the infamous 'Guide of Destiny' Mr. Jack might have, after all, this is a Transcendent world... it could be unbearable itching, terrifying hallucinations, heart extraction, or being forced to eat one's own flesh," Dongyang remarked, placing down his teacup.
"Even knowing this is a game, the psychological impact under such realistic sensations is still significant...isn't it?"
Hearing his calm words, the three women present felt a chill.
Horseman, however, turned his head away and quietly sipped his tea, not daring to utter a word.
He was the one who had secretly passed information to Doghead Gold and Forget No Taboo, leading them into the trap.
If those two were tortured into foolishness, he would bear a heavy burden.
"Cough, I'm a bit tired. I'm going to sleep upstairs."
Horseman stood up.
"Yes, it's about time. Let's go our separate ways."

Dongyang said.
"Everyone, skip the sleep cycle, and remember to set the timer. We agreed to level up at the water shoal tomorrow morning and practice coordination beforehand for the 'Immortal Realm Instance'."
Chenxi said 'Hmm', and headed upstairs without turning her head.
Wei Yin and Su Keying were still talking in low voices, with Jack's name barely audible, and strange smiles spread across their faces.
Polaris glanced at them and then shook his head.
He followed Horseman's steps and also left the living room.
For some reason, he increasingly felt like an outsider in this group.
Perhaps because the other players in the squad were either guild members or grouped enthusiasts, only he, Polaris, was a true lone wolf.
"You can do it, Polaris."
He silently encouraged himself, a determined glint in his eyes.
"Strive! Fight hard! Earn enough money to ascend to Transcendent soon! No one can look down on you!"

Third-floor room.
Chen Lun sat in a chair by the window.
"Ahhhh!!"
"Don't come over here!"
Faint cries rang from above.
He lifted his head and silently glanced at the ceiling.
'What on earth did Maggie feed them to provoke such a reaction?'
Shaking his head, Chen Lun picked up the unsealed old book from the table.
'Dreamseek Town Kazt... This book is peculiar, giving me a sense of déjà vu.'
He flipped through this Mystic Book, his expression thoughtful.
This book belonged to the "Transcendent Encounters", providing Chen Lun with 500 Experience Points, but no other tangible benefits.
The book, written in the first person, depicted a down-and-out Sailor who, after getting drunk, fell into a deep slumber.
In his dream, he descended a staircase leading underground, passed through 70 steps, and discovered a massive stone door.
Looking up at the door, he inexplicably knew its name was the "Door of Slumber."
The door was carved with various marine creatures and bizarre, ferocious monsters. Next to the enormous door, stood a tall, faceless woman.
Draped in a dark green elegant gauze dress, she silently observed and sized up the Sailor.
Similarly, the Sailor somehow knew the woman's name was "Lady Sigh."
Her sublime and lofty demeanor instilled in the Sailor an urge to Worship, daring not harbor any thoughts of Desecration.
Seemingly passing some sort of test, Lady Sigh opened the Great Gate for him.
The Sailor crossed through the stone door and went down again, after another 700 steps, he arrived at a dim, foggy forest.
The forest was incredibly dark, and no creatures could be seen.
The Sailor got lost in the forest until he encountered a black cat.
The black cat spoke human language, was warm and hospitable, and offered the Sailor a homemade wine called "Moon Wine," then directed him to 'where the sound of water and the pile of rocks are'.
Following the black cat's guidance, the Sailor successfully found an ancient town—
Kazt.
To his amazement, all the residents of this small town were spiritually intelligent white cats.
They had a common leader, who was both the mayor and the High Priest, named Daye. This was an old cat with tiger-striped brown fur, completely different from the white cats of Kazt Town.
He was responsible for deciding the major affairs of the town and for the Worship of the town's deity, the Cat God.
The sudden appearance of the Sailor surprised and piqued the curiosity of Kazt's feline residents, as it had been a long time since a human last visited.
