All for the sake of identity documents and passes...

Rotten Persimmon shook his head, didn't linger, and turned to walk across the bridge.

Rotten Persimmon headed straight for the Red Apple Church in the Inner City District.

When he arrived at the church, he found the number of residents coming to worship was few and far between, only a scattering of individuals.

It looked quite desolate.

Rotten Persimmon recalled the pilot episode about Jack, which mentioned that this branch church seemed to have been destroyed by him once.

Although it wasn't directly burned down like the church in Emerald Town, the bishop and some guardians of Amber City had been killed by Jack.

The loss was quite severe.

"Perhaps this is the reason for the scarcity of believers here...?"

Rotten Persimmon guessed to himself and pushed open the courtyard gate of the church.

He immediately halted in his tracks.

He saw newspapers scattered on the ground, thrown in from outside.

Casually bending down to pick one up, he discovered that these newspapers were very old and seemed to have been printed a long time ago.

The contents reported on exposing the dark side of the Red Apple Church and the deeds of the "Black Messenger" meting out punishment on behalf of God.

At this point, Rotten Persimmon understood why there were so few people here.

"Why has it turned around?! The Red Apple Church here is the villain, and Jack has become the messenger of justice..."

Rotten Persimmon rolled up the newspaper, his expression fluctuating.

"Well, these reports can't all be taken as truth... Besides, the Red Apple Church is part of the Righteous God Church, a powerful entity, and all I need is to make use of them to develop myself."

Clenching his teeth, he walked straight into the church.

In the empty hall, there was only one monk, holding the Rose Bible and calmly preaching the gospel of Lady Rose to the few scattered listeners.

For some reason, Rotten Persimmon always felt that this monk lacked spirit and seemed to be going through the motions.

He went straight up to him, and the monk stopped his sermon, casting a puzzled look his way.

Rotten Persimmon discreetly performed a scout, discovering that the monk was just an ordinary person.

Taking a deep breath, he took out his identity document and quietly stated that he was "one of their own" from Emerald Town, hoping to do work for the church in Amber City.

The implication was that he was hoping to pick up some tasks.

This took the Red Apple Church's monk completely by surprise. The other man appeared stunned for a good while before reacting.

Because of the previous gallery case and the square battle, the leadership of the Shelter, Mona's teacher from Fossil City, the Judge Rudolf, submitted charges against the Red Apple Church to the "Gem State Ten Cities Council."

Although it did not cause too much impact on the church, it had attracted dissatisfaction from the Empire's higher echelons.

To avoid exacerbating the conflict, the church's higher-ups had actually temporarily abandoned the Amber City area, including several nearby large cities and towns.

Therefore, this Red Apple Church now had more symbolic than practical significance, and soon it would be reluctantly handed over to the Sun Church for occupancy.

"Praise be to Rose, Rotten Persimmon, you are indeed a devout guardian of the church."

The monk praised.

Then he pondered for a few seconds, looked around, and finally remembered something, drawing a pile of wanted posters from under the podium's cabinet and handing them to Rotten Persimmon.

"This week you can choose to patrol or stand guard near the church, but after next Monday, there's no need to come anymore. The specific reasons and subsequent arrangements will be notified in due time...

Thereafter, you could consider easing the church's burden by seeking out and striking down these heinous criminals."

Rotten Persimmon took the wanted posters and received a task prompt. Enjoy new adventures from My Virtual Library Empire

Immediately, he chose to accept it with some excitement.

The monk's words were odd, why shouldn't he come after next week, is something big going to happen?

With some doubts, he turned and left the church.

Just as he stepped out of the main gate, the monk from the Red Apple Church noticed a figure emerging from the side door, so he immediately went up to greet them respectfully.

"Monk Lait, the handover work is almost done; our church will withdraw next week, and this place will be completely handed over to the Sun Church."

The monk was sweating profusely.

The man standing in front of him was a monk from the Sun Church, a bald and bearded middle-aged ascetic.

It was said that he was also a member of the elite Transcendent force "Lamp Protectors" within the Sun Church.

Lait's placid face carried a smile.

He nodded to the monk from the Red Apple Church, then gently patted his white robe and turned to look towards the main gate through which Rotten Persimmon had just departed.

"These 'visitors from the Spirit World' are indeed strange, have you discovered anything?"

The monk from the Red Apple Church was momentarily taken aback.

He opened his mouth but said nothing.

Lait glanced at him and shook his head.

"It seems that because you haven't ascended to Transcendent, many secrets within the Red Apple Church have not been disclosed to you...

Alright, I understand. This church will also undergo another renovation by us in due time."

Rotten Persimmon found his brothers from the God's Love Guild in the Outer City District's sewers.

He heard they had already accepted the recruitment mission from the Security Office to help eradicate the plague rats plaguing the sewers.

Rotten Persimmon had his own plans; he was prepared to bring this group of guild teammates and join a certain gang.

In doing so, they could grind rats while participating in the gang conflict, thus strategically striking at the Iron Fist Gang.

While leveling up, he could also complete his church mission.

Because Rotten Persimmon had received some information from his senior, Doghead Gold, that the Iron Fist Gang was in fact a force under Jack's command.
