On the first floor of the teaching building, archive room.

In the middle of the archive room, there was a huge hole in the tiled floor.

The hole seemed to have been dug not long ago. Its radius was one meter wide, and a lot of gravel and soil were turned over around it.

Mike put on the hooded spider suit given by Gwen, his body showing smooth muscle curves. He squatted slightly on the edge of the pit, looking down into the cave entrance into the bottomless mysterious interior.

He held his breath.

Mike jumped directly into the pit.

Falling, falling, falling in free fall...

Mike fell down about twenty to thirty meters before he was about to touch the ground. Above the ground, faintly shimmering with water, there were several thin white lines that were difficult to see intertwined.

It was Gwen's spider silk.

Mike suddenly had an idea, and he supported himself with his hands on both sides of the pit to cushion his falling trend, landing lightly on the tough spider silk that Gwen had set up earlier.

With a faint green light appearing in his eyes, Mike lay on several spider silks, looked around at the dark environment, and found that the hole led to an underground sewer.

The space inside the sewer was narrow, dark, and suffocating.

Mike didn't think too much and quickly walked along the spider silk that extended infinitely toward an underground passage.

Sometimes he crawled on the spider silk like a spider, and sometimes he ran wildly at the bottom of the pipe like a cheetah.

The underground sewer system was designed to be winding and branching, and it was difficult to sense the direction in the dark underground.

Mike was not afraid of getting lost. For one thing, he had the spider silk left by Gwen to guide him, and two, Gwen's scent was also locked by him.

But the further he walked along the passage that Gwen had walked, the more Mike's brows furrowed. This underground pipeline was like another world. The passage lines were intricate, and it was a secret area that could never be reached by sunlight!

What kind of evil would breed in such an underground area?

Mike quickly traveled two or three kilometers through the underground sewer. Just when he suspected that he was no longer in the same city area as his original school, he subtly smelled a scent of blood in his nostrils!

It's Gwen, she's hurt!

Realizing this.

Mike's eyes suddenly turned cold, and the divine light from the silver bracelet that protected him became so bright that it almost failed to suppress the wildness in his body!

Trample!!

Mike's palms and feet landed on the slope of the underground pipe at the same time, and he sprinted directly on the 90-degree slope, which increased his already fast speed to a higher level!

Under the airflow generated by his high-speed movement, the water at the bottom of the pipe splashed backward!

Mike soon saw that at the open intersection of the underground pipelines ahead, a two or three-meter-tall humanoid lizard monster was confronting a slender figure several meters away.

Gwen's left calf was scratched, making it difficult for her to move, and her back was leaning against the wall on one side of the pipe.

With a highly similar spider-sense, Gwen seemed to have sensed something and glanced sideways at Mike, who was approaching from a pipe nearby.

At the same time.

The humanoid lizard monster had a ferocious face, like a small dinosaur. It seized the opportunity and pounced on Gwen!

But there was a figure that was obviously faster than him!

"Get out of here!!" Mike was like a human cannonball, violently crashing into the humanoid lizard monster and knocking him away!!

"Be careful!" But when seeing this scene, Gwen shouted loudly as a warning.

"Um?!"

Mike narrowed his eyes slightly, and in the air at the intersection of the pipes, he twisted his waist almost with wild instinct, rotating his agile and slender body at high speed!

Tsk! Tsk!

The sound of breaking wind suddenly sounded underground, and two mechanical claws like octopus tentacles swept past his side and pierced into the water flow in the pipe under Mike's body, stirring up a splash of water!

By rotating his body to avoid the sneak attack of the mechanical tentacles, the moment his body turned over, Mike also saw that in a corner of the top floor of the underground pipe, there was a middle-aged man wearing sunglasses hanging on the wall with the other two mechanical tentacles on his back.

At this moment, a strand of white spider silk accurately caught Mike, who was about to fall into the water.

Mike did not resist and allowed the owner of the spider silk to pull him to safety.

Finally reunited with Gwen, Mike landed on the pipe's surface and reached out to steady her slender and flexible frame. He quickly asked, "Are you okay?"

"It's just my foot—I'm fine." Gwen replied breathlessly.

"Do you know that guy with the four mechanical claws?" Mike glanced at the middle-aged man and asked her.

Gwen whispered, "Have you forgotten? That's Otto Octavius, a famous physicist. He came to our school to observe an event a year ago."

"Another doctor?" Mike muttered, suddenly recalling Barbara's remarks about the eccentric doctors connected to their school.

First Dr. Lizard, now Dr. Octopus—are they trying to turn this place into a zoo? With all the spiders and cheetahs running around, it might as well be.

With a splash, Dr. Lizard leaped from the rushing water and landed on the opposite side of the sewer. His green, reptilian eyes locked coldly on Mike and Gwen.

Above them, Doctor Octopus crawled along the pipe's ceiling with his mechanical tentacles and joined the lizard-like figure, "You did well, bringing the little spiders here." He sneered.

"Enough talk. Let's deal with them." Dr. Lizard growled hoarsely.

"Of course." Doctor Octopus grinned maliciously, "Now that they know our secret, there's no way they'll leave here alive. As long as that girl doesn't show up..."

Flashback.

Half a year ago, the two doctors had used the school's underground pipelines for unethical scientific experiments. Just as their research was bearing fruit, a younger student confronted them.

She warned them to stop or she'd report their activities to the school and police.

Attempting to threaten her, they were met with a shocking response—she punched the ground. The resulting force created a massive crater in the underground pipeline, halting their experiments indefinitely.

Only recently, when the girl disappeared from school, did the two doctors resume their work.

Their experiments had succeeded.

Dr. Lizard now had the regenerative abilities and brute strength of a humanoid lizard. Doctor Octopus had merged with his mechanical tentacles, his brain and the claws sharing a new neural system.

In the narrow, dim sewer, Dr. Lizard, Dr. Octopus, and Mike—wearing a hooded spider suit—stood off against each other.

The rushing water gurgled between them.

Mike, who possessed the combined abilities of a Super Spider and a Cheetah, could sense the malice and murderous intent radiating from the two villains.

They wanted to kill him and Gwen here and now.

Looking at Gwen's injured calf, Mike's eyes flashed with a faint green light, growing colder.

"You take one, and I'll—hey, what are you doing?!" Gwen protested as Mike suddenly lifted her into a princess carry.

Doctor Octopus sneered from above, "Trying to run? How quaint."

Meanwhile, Dr. Lizard growled, his bloodshot eyes and snarling fangs giving him the appearance of a feral dinosaur.

Mike ignored them and said to Gwen, "Hold on tight."

Reluctantly, Gwen wrapped her arms around his neck, "You can't take them both—especially with me!"

"How do you know if you don't try?" Mike replied with a confident smile.

The sight of his calm defiance infuriated Doctor Octopus. Charging forward, he roared, "Arrogant brat!"

The four mechanical claws shot toward Mike like venomous snakes.

Mike didn't flinch. Holding Gwen securely, he raised his free hand and clawed at the air.

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

All four claws were deflected by Mike's left hand.

Doctor Octopus gaped in disbelief as the claws lashed out again, faster and more erratically, but Mike's hand was quicker, blocking every strike.

"This is impossible!" Doctor Octopus shouted. His mechanical claws moved with the speed of thought, yet they couldn't overpower Mike's reflexes.

Meanwhile, Dr. Lizard pounced, claws slashing toward Mike. With a swift leap, Mike dodged and countered, slamming both feet into the lizard's head.

BANG!

The reptilian creature crashed to the ground, creating a deep crater.

Doctor Octopus attacked again, but Mike effortlessly dodged and caught one of the tentacles. With a powerful pull, he hurled Doctor Octopus onto Dr. Lizard, deepening the crater further.

As the villains struggled to rise, Mike ensnared them in layers of spider silk, binding them into a massive cocoon.

"This can't be happening..." Doctor Octopus muttered, his mind fractured.

Suddenly, Dr. Lizard snapped, sinking his fangs into Octopus's neck.

Scarlet blood spurted as the mechanical tentacles retaliated, stabbing through Dr. Lizard's eyes, mouth, and torso.

In moments, both villains lay motionless, their entwined bodies surrounded by pooling blood.

Watching the grim scene, Mike and Gwen stood silent.

"No one could have predicted this ending." Gwen murmured, removing her spider hood.

Mike nodded, gazing at the remains of the two scientists. Their lust for power had consumed them, turning them into monstrous parodies of themselves.

"They were brilliant men once, but they lost their humanity in their pursuit of the extraordinary." Mike said softly.

Gwen sighed, "Let's go back."

"Leave them here." Mike said after a moment of thought. He crouched, placing a hand on the cracked ground.

Snap!

The crater caved in, burying the two doctors beneath rubble and shadows.

Back at home, Mike lounged on the sofa, petting Kerry, his shapeshifting companion. A TV program aired a tribute to Dr. Kurt Connors and Dr. Otto Octavius for their contributions to science.

Mike glanced at Diana, who was perched nearby, "What about Ms. Barbara?"

"She won't be coming back anytime soon." Diana replied, ruffling his hair with a small smile.
