Infinite Potential System

Chapter 552: Swift Progress

William decided not to spend any more of his Points after looking at the Status Panel for a few minutes. He only had 17 AP left, which was only good enough to upgrade one of his weaker Ascended Talents once or twice.

Ascended Recovery was still F-Rank and could be upgraded for five Points, but it wouldn't make a significant difference in a fight, especially after his Forcefield reached C-Rank.

Aside from focusing on Talents, the Frostile Faction's Cultivators shouldn't be approaching the Ascension Realm for a few days at the minimum, so William had time to shift his focus. He trusted the System's earlier evaluation of Fria, so he wasn't worried about her.

I'll send both vials of Superior Calming Liquid with the first two to Ascend. That should be enough to help her out in the short term. If there's still an issue afterwards... I'll have to come up with a way to find her.

He used his Hunter Talent's tracking function to check on his classmates, who seemed to be doing fine on the 17th Floor. They weren't as far up the Quake Dungeon as they were last time, but they all seemed to be in close to peak condition. Some had even split up into smaller groups and were exploring the Floor thoroughly.

William felt bad knowing that he had looted most of the easy-to-reach treasures on the Floor, but he was glad that they at least had an effective system for earning Quake Dungeon Gems. Their current efficiency was much greater than those William saw on his first visit, giving him hope that his group would eventually surpass the senior students.

He didn't know it, but he had Mikaela and Odessa to thank for that, as well as Yuhe.

The two former were a cut above the rest of the First-Years, and Mikaela had learned more advanced leadership skills from somewhere. Meanwhile, Yuhe was simply bored of not doing anything, so she had a Tier 8 staff forged for the occasion.

Seeing that there was no real reason to join up with his classmates, William decided to enter the higher floors of the Quake Dungeon after an eight hour Cultivation session. His stored Spirit Qi was now over 12.3 billion, just under a quarter of the way to the second stage of the Ascension Realm.

While Ascension and the other Realms worked in stages separated by Lower, Middle, Upper, and the stage that wasn't really a stage that others referred to as the Peak, the System didn't scale it that way. It still used the standard numbers one through nine, and William needed 50 billion Spirit Qi just to reach the second level.

50 billion Spirit Qi for the middle of the lower stage of the Ascension Realm. Compared to the Cultivators in his school who typically had Epic Cultivation Techniques at most, William's Mythic Technique put them all to shame in terms of requirements.

He didn't mind though, as every stage he progressed was equal to two, three, and sometimes even four stages in comparison, which is how he crushed most of his opponents thus far. He kept this in mind while clearing out the 18th Floor for the second time.

With all the recent upgrades, William effortlessly cleared the 18th, 19th, and 20th Floors by the end of the day. He conducted another ten hour Cultivation session, then contacted his Professor in the morning to request he not come to school on the 17th or the 20th, either.

Tenningbrew was displeased to hear that William would be missing three total days of class, but Vice Principal Kenny took favor on William and didn't issue any punishments. The course material was sent over via communicator, which the System relayed to him while he cleared out more Floors of the Dungeon.

William wanted to progress as far as possible through the Dungeon without his classmates' help, so he decided he'd keep going until he hit a major roadblock. The problem was, even when the Frostile Faction Cultivators were ready to Ascend five days later, William was still going!

In less than a week, William had reached the end of the 24th Floor despite Cultivating every day for at least 8 hours. His enemies were already in the middle stages of the Deity Realm, but the passive benefits of having a Solar System improved the Earth Element to the point where even Magical Beasts at this level could barely defend.

It was too bad that none of the Magical Beasts in the Quake Dungeon gave Points, else William would be rich.

The only thing slowing him down was the increasingly large floors, which the Navigation Talent was once again struggling to fully map. If the 24th Floor of the Quake Dungeon were laid out across the Slightveil Plane, it might reach from Treymon all the way to Great Rouge.

With more enemies and larger Floors, however, came a qualitative and quantitative improvement to the Treasures! From Artifacts that boasted one-time defense against Solar Deity experts to Element Roots to thousands of Quake Dungeon Gems, William actually managed to completely fill one of his Space Rings!

The influx of Ascended Points wasn't bad either, bringing his total to 103.

He sent his consciousness down to the Mortal Realms in a good mood and handed off the two vials of Superior Calming Liquid without the usual complaints that would come along with giving up a rare and valuable treasure. He attached a set of instructions and a makeshift locator to the Cultivators, which should help him locate them when they ended up in the Slightveil Plane.

In the System's eyes, William's generosity was like a bright flash of positive character development that was much needed. Unfortunately, the System rarely pried into William's true thoughts anymore, failing to notice the plans to get Fria to pay him back tenfold.

William's current favorite was the outcome where the two newly Ascended Cultivators decide to run off with the extra Superior Calming Liquid, in which he'd track them down and give them a new... assignment.
