Chapter 694: Warning
As the monstrous creature met its demise, the large amounts of water it had summoned cascaded downward. The torrential barrage surged and, in its forceful descent, momentarily displaced the warriors of the Raging Phoenix. Fortunately, the quantity of water proved relatively small to cause any real harm, sparing the surroundings from substantial damage.

"Hmm, this isn't half bad," Rain thought. "I guess the next skill will increase my stamina… by maxing out those three skills, my health, mana, and stamina can increase a lot."
That was good and all, but Rain didn't have time for that since the warriors were approaching and they didn't have time to fight… keeping that path equipped was truly more efficient, but Rain put those thoughts aside.
"We are heading further East, don't slow down," Rain declared.
"The next time you have an idea as insanity as that, can you inform me in advance?" Terra asked. "I want to slap you before you do anything insane again."
Rain wanted to say that such a thing might awaken something inside him, but Terra didn't look like she wanted to hear a joke and the moment wasn't right for that either. All the squads prepared to move again…
While drinking potions, Rain kept thinking about what he should do to kill the dragons faster… the idea of using the giant ice harpoons probably would be a good start, but he had the feeling that the dragons would be waiting for it at the same time. Regardless, as the groups kept marching, Rain suddenly felt a vibration on his magic radio… it was a weird time for Isa to suddenly try to call him.
"Sorry, Isa. Bad timing for a talk," Rain said. "I am kind of busy right now."
"I have an idea of what is happening, I can tell by your aura," Isa said and then Rain was able to hear her sigh. "Since it has come down to this, I have to warn you about letting the blood of the dragons bath you, even if by accident and for a short while. Dragon's blood is filled with their essense and after their evolve, their essence is corrupted by their sin magic.
So, if you learned magic that is related to the sins, you will feel their power increasing, but it will be the same as using that shield of yours."
Now that Rain thought about it… he finally realized that he was recovering mana, health, and stamina faster. It was because of Gluttonous Recovery and because he bathed on the blood of the leviathan dragons…
"... What will happen ultimately?" Terra asked and Rain felt like facepalming since she heard that.
"You can't listen to other people's conversations when they are on a phone," Rain said.
"What is a phone? Terra asked. "Is that what you call that?"
"In the worst case scenario, he will lose his mind or kill himself since the blood will strengthen the power of the sins," Isa explained. "Dragons usually use only the magic of one sin and make them reach the apex, but since you are learning similar techniques of several of them… anyway, if you keep bathing in the Leviathan's dragons, you will probably be overtaken by gluttony."
Rain wanted to ask how Isa knew about how things were happening there… could she feel Rain's aura through the magic radio? Regardless, while it wasn't the first time Rain had an encounter with a troublesome situation regarding power, he felt more troubled.
For the first time since Rain's reincarnation into this world, the prospect of attaining formidable power became starkly visible, accompanied by an acute awareness of the costly danger. The realization dawned on him with newfound clarity, presenting a profound understanding of the symbiotic relationship between great power and the inherent risks connected with its pursuit.
It was astonishing to Rain that dragon's blood held such capabilities in this world. The parallels between this revelation and the legend of Siegfried were striking, prompting Rain to contemplate the potential existence of other magical phenomena in this world that mirrored Earth.
This led him to question whether these similarities were mere coincidences or if there was a deeper connection between the two planets and the magic in there…
"I will be careful, for now, I only felt a bit of heat in my body and some dizziness, so I should be fine," Rain said. "The real problem starts when the skills of the paths connected to the sins are completely maxed out, right?"
"Indeed…" Isa said.
"Can you tell me why the effects of these corrupt paths have the same effects of the shield?" Rain asked.
"No," Isa replied.
"You can't, or you don't know?" Rain asked.
"I will leave that to your interpretation," Isa replied.
Rain could only imagine that somehow, those things were connected to the dragon god… it was the only reason why Isa wouldn't explain that… or maybe because Rain wasn't alone and Isa didn't want to risk spreading that secret.
"All right, no more letting the monsters eat you to kill them from inside, and this isn't up for debate," Terra said when the call ended. Enjoy new chapters from My Virtual Library Empire
"... I guess so," Rain said and then shrugged. "I will just have to cleave through their hard shells."
Before long, the group was able to find the next targets and Rain felt like sighing since it looked like he wouldn't have time to think about what he had just heard… maybe just like the legend of siegfried, there was something on Earth's myths and legends that would explain why the dragons blood could corrupt others, but not their flesh when it was eaten…
