Chapter 366 - Strange Guy
William felt the air around him blitz for a second as he saw something went past him.
Instinctively he pulled up his defenses, but felt confused the next second when he saw the figure going for the monster.
"KRISSSK!"
The figure took up a large axe and brought it down upon the charred monsters head and instantly cut it. The monsters' eyes which were glowing red previously turned pale once more as the previous hideous amount of energy dissipated from its body.
The heaviness around William and Clawdia went away as they could move their body again. Both of them felt relieved feeling that but didn't lower their defenses one bit. They both stared at the unknown person intently as the guy gave a large sigh.
"Now that was a little close to home… don't you agree?"
The guy said and looked back at William as he said, "So… what do you say about cutting this thing up and eating it?" The guy said with a large smile donning his face but the only reaction he got was half confusion and half vigilance.
The guy's eyes cracked as he couldn't understand why William was giving him that look and then as if a bulb lit up inside his head and he hit his left palm while his right hand acted as the hammer.
"OH! I understand."
"You don't know who I am, do you?"
"It's pretty understandable, seeing that your grumpy father wouldn't say anything about me to you."
"I really should have taught the boy how to mingle with people."
"Oh! Yeah! I got side tracked again, didn't I?"
"Wilfred Halbert's my name… and I'm your grandpa."
"..."
"…"
"…"
"I'm sorry but… What the fuck!"
...
A campfire
Around the campfire were two people and one large cat. Two of them were eating rather lavishly while the other was looking with concentration in its eyes.
Surprisingly it was a person who was looking, while the other two man and a large cat was eating away large pieces of meat. They ate like there wouldn't be another tomorrow and filled their bellies while the one looking at them, had only one thought.
'Is it just me… or are they just this dense?'
William looked at his 'supposed' grandfather and his cat. He felt surprised at their behaviors as he had expected at least one of them to have some brains… and it was not Clawdia.
After the guy claimed that he was his grandfather and William's rather blunt answer, the guy immediately cut open a large piece of the monster and started a campfire and started cooking the meat alongside with Clawdia… who apparently felt like betraying her master at this critical moment as she cooked meat alongside him and started yammering on it.
"Hmm… now this is quality food… forget about the overpriced beans at the restaurants, this is the BEST THING!" The guy said as he took a large bite of the meat.
"Meow!" Clawdia purred in agreement with the guy.
"Oh Hyo thik Thd sade tho!"
(Translation : Oh! You think the same too!)
"Meow!"
"Ahet hyou a nike kicky. I hou I pew a vombabom bho I pee hyo."
(Aren't you a nice kitty. I knew I met a companion when I saw you.)
"Meow!"
William looked at the strange communication between the two being and didn't feel strange at all. Not one bit.
He also didn't find it strange for the guy to understand what Clawdia said.
Idiots can understand each other… It was universal.
What he found strange was that… Did the meat really taste that great?
They had electrified the monster a little too much, so how are they eating it like it's the best thing in the world!
William threw the thoughts out of his head. It seemed like idiocy was spreading to him as well.
He looked at the man, clearly this time, taking up his appearance.
His face had the joyful look of a guy in his teens and his eyes glowed golden even in bright daylight. His hair was all white but looked as if it would take more than a chainsaw to cut one out.
The guy stood at 6.7 Foot, a humongous height, he could tell. Even now while he was sitting on the tree log, he cut up as a bench, he looked massively tall. Then their came his physic, It was impressive.
No! Impressive would seem undermining, It was fantastic to say the least.
Muscles could be seen bulging with just a glance at the man. His body seemed to be made from godlike structure, every place he looked at the man, he could only define it with one word.

Anyone with eyes could tell that this man was not to be trifled with.
But it is also with that physic that William had problems with.
Only two.
First of all, the physic of this guy was unseen from William's point of view. Sure he was shorter than Delmar but… He could tell… only one punch.
It would only take one punch for him to take care of Delmar.
But that wasn't the problem either, the problem was that, this guy's physic didn't match up to the image of Ervin Halbert in his mind.
Granted, he doesn't see him anymore and didn't see much of the guy before too, still he had a good memory of that guy and he can still vouch that it would take one punch from this guy to take care of Ervin Halbert.
William accidently bit his tongue.
Damn! Just thinking about that guy feels cursed.
Now came the second thing and the most important one.
Why in the hell was this guy wearing Hawaiian shirt and pants?
Who in their right mind wears such clothes at the forbidden places? And that too at such atmosphere.
It was literally negative 16 degrees out here.
William thought as he looked at his choice of clothes and then at his manner of eating away the large meat without any thought.
Wilfred finally stopped eating his meat. He could feel the intensity with which his grandson was looking at him and he knew the exact reason for the cause too.
"I know what you want."
William heard the words and his ears went up in attention.
"You want… this piece of meat, don't ya?" Wilfred said as he showed a large piece of meat to William.
"HELL NOO!" William screamed at him as he snatched the meat from him.
"Then why'd you take it?" Wilfred said with a sneaky laugh.
"Because… for research. I want to know what this tastes like." William said nodding twice as to make himself believe those words.
Wilfred deadpanned at those words, "…You're not the reasearchy kind of guy."
"How would you know what kind of guy I am?"
"Of Course, I would know. I've been following you for a lon-…" Immediately Wilfred started whistling as he looked the other way.
"…"
"…"
"You… You're the guy that's been stalking me so many years." William said as things started to connect inside his mind.
"I wasn't staking!" Wilfred said in loud defense. "… It's called research."
"Yeah… You literally don't look the type who wou- could research."
