Chapter 1: prologo
Rudra Rhomnominias, yes, that's my name. To sum up my life, I'm a prince of a lost kingdom. Basically, I'm a prodigy in magic and something of a genius. I've never actually trained in my life—I'm pretty lazy. I don't like putting in effort, I don't like idiots, and above all, I hate rats. My interests? Women, power, and order. And my dream? To rule my kingdom in peace.
Well, that peace is currently being interrupted by this idiot, I looked at the blond-haired boy in front of me with annoyance.
"You know, we could stop this before it turns into a civil war," I tried to reason with the fool.
Justice cannot be stopped, Rudra," the idiot said as he summoned a sword.
I sighed as I prepared for battle. The fool charged at me, attempting to cut me down. I dodged the first strike and sent him flying with a kick. When he crashed into a wall, I used reinforcement to strengthen my body. As he rushed at me again, I used my enhanced strength and landed a punch straight to his face, sending him right back into the wall.
The boy, now lying on the ground, spat out a tooth. But before he could get up, my foot slammed into his head.
Rudra looked down at the idiot, pressing his foot against the boy's head before kicking him repeatedly. The boy rolled to the side, dodging Rudra's foot, which crashed into the floor, shattering it. Now back on his feet, the boy swung his sword at Rudra, who summoned an orange magic circle that blocked the blade. Then, he fired a magic bullet that shattered the sword and pierced the boy's shoulder, sending him flying backward.
The boy clutched his wounded shoulder, staring at the hole in disbelief. "Damn it... Rudra is way stronger than I thought..." he thought, trying to endure the pain.
Suddenly, Rudra appeared in front of him. The boy tried to move, but chains wrapped around him, holding him in place. Rudra stared at him, and the boy returned the gaze.
Rudra sighed, summoning another magic bullet that pierced the boy's heart. He watched the child's lifeless body before turning away and walking forward.
He would put an end to this rebellion.
The idiot looked at the beautiful woman in front of him before kneeling.
"I'm so sorry, Gaia... I failed my mission," the boy apologized.
But Gaia gently cupped his face and lifted him up with a soft touch.
"It's okay, my child. This isn't over yet," she whispered, pressing a kiss to his forehead.
Rudra heard a noise and quickly turned, watching as the idiot stood up, now surrounded by a golden aura.
"Power-up," Rudra muttered, observing as the boy fully regained his stance before charging at him.
Rudra blocked the idiot's punch before countering with a blow using Potencia. His fist connected with the boy's raised arm, which he had used to shield his face. The boy retaliated with a kick, forcing Rudra to step back due to its sheer strength.
Letting out a low growl, Rudra leaped backward, dodging another incoming kick. Without hesitation, he summoned five magic circles, from which magical lightning bolts shot out, striking the idiot directly.
The boy now had multiple holes in his body, but to Rudra's annoyance, they began regenerating almost instantly.
"Oh, come on, Gaia...," Rudra mentally complained as the idiot lunged at him again.
Rudra attempted to block, but this time, he was sent flying backward.
Taking a deep breath, his veins bulged, and his heartbeat quickened—this was his Recharge Mode. As the idiot closed in, Rudra caught his kick and delivered a swift punch to his face, momentarily knocking him out. Wasting no time, Rudra landed a series of devastating blows, breaking several bones and damaging the idiot's organs.
Then, grabbing the fool by the face, Rudra hurled him off the balcony.
"I have to admit, I underestimated Rudra," Gaia spoke to the badly beaten boy, who was still regenerating.
"Then how am I supposed to defeat him?" the boy asked in frustration.
"Don't worry, my child. I'll give you more power," Gaia assured, as the golden glow around him intensified.
The boy stood up, looking upward just in time to see Rudra descending with a powerful kick. He barely managed to dodge before the two began exchanging blows once more.
Rudra was growing irritated—this idiot had plot armor.
A strong punch connected with Rudra's face. Gritting his teeth, Rudra grabbed the idiot's arm and summoned a blue magic circle that unleashed multiple lightning strikes, electrocuting him.
Taking some distance, Rudra watched as the golden glow around the idiot grew stronger.
"Does Gaia really want me dead that badly?" he thought.
Emerging from the debris, the boy rushed forward, landing a solid punch to Rudra's stomach.
Rudra was sent flying, crashing through several buildings, tearing through them one by one.
Rudra stood up. He was no longer angry; his gaze was now cold. Suddenly, he was surrounded by several magical circles. When the circles vanished, Rudra remained standing, but now covered in a massive suit of armor. It was silver with a blue cape and black details. With a single motion, he shattered all the buildings around him.
"Behold, idiot! This is my ultimate form—I am the Iron King, Rudra. In this form, I can destroy nations as if they were mere paper!" Rudra proclaimed as several swords, glowing with a golden light, emerged around him.
"Those swords are not ordinary weapons; they are divine-grade weapons," Gaia warned the boy.
"Don't let them hit you!" she advised.
But one of the weapons moved at such a speed that even Gaia could barely see it, piercing through the boy's chest and bringing him to his knees. Gaia was thinking fast—there was no chance for the boy against Rudra, even if she granted him her full power. So, she had an idea. After all, Uranus owed her a favor.
Rudra watched as the golden glow sank into the boy's skin, and several runes appeared across his body.
"So, Gaia is giving you all her power? It's a useless effort," Rudra mocked.
But then, he was also surprised when a silver light surrounded the boy, forming into armor. Now, the idiot had sky-blue armor adorned with golden runes.
Rudra fell silent for a moment, then suddenly started laughing.
"Listen to this, Gaia! With my power, I can destroy the sky and the earth. I am the Iron King and the Lord of War!" he boasted as more weapons emerged around him.
The weapons shot toward the boy, who managed to dodge some, but then a shield of roots emerged from the ground, protecting him. The boy summoned a sword that looked like a cloud and leaped toward Rudra.
Before he could reach him, a sword blocked his path, followed by seven others attacking from all directions. However, the boy was protected by clouds.
But Rudra's arm pierced through one of the clouds, and with a single blow, he sent the boy flying out of the kingdom, crashing into the sea.
As the boy stood up, a shadow loomed over him. When he looked up, he saw a gigantic spear, the size of an island, crashing down toward him.
"Hahaha! I forgot to mention—I can destroy the sky, the earth, and the sea!" Rudra mocked as the spear struck the ocean.
But suddenly, a massive tree emerged from the sea, lifting the spear and revealing the boy. His armor was shattered, but it immediately began to repair itself.
"Who the hell did you send your champion to fight against?!" Uranus angrily asked Gaia while restoring the boy's armor.
Rudra appeared in front of the boy and, with a single punch, sent him crashing into the giant tree. Rudra conjured a golden sword and attempted to stab the idiot, but he was protected by several golden runes. However, they started breaking one by one.
Suddenly, another tree emerged beneath Rudra, attempting to fuse with him, but Rudra split it in half with a single motion. He moved swiftly, dodging multiple attacks from the idiot. But as he retreated, he collided with a cloud inscribed with a rune.
Rudra tried to move, but the idiot grabbed onto him, the runes on his armor merging into a single symbol on his chest.
"You and Gaia are both idiots," Rudra complained as he summoned several weapons around him, which pierced through the boy.
Yet, the boy didn't let go.
"Rudra," he suddenly heard Gaia's voice in his mind.
"What do you want, Gaia?" Rudra growled, struggling to break free.
"There is a way to end this. Become my champion and defeat the other nations. Let's make the Earth a better place," Gaia offered.
But Rudra only laughed.
"No, Gaia. I refuse your proposal. It's too much work," Rudra mocked, though his final words carried a tone of seriousness.
Gaia didn't respond. She simply activated the runes, and Rudra was engulfed in a black box that glowed purple before vanishing.
Rudra had a bored expression as he floated in what seemed to be a sea of black water. He was dead—that much was clear. Gaia had sacrificed her champion and the favor Uranus owed her, and he knew that creating the rune that killed him required Uranus' help.
"Either way, dying is a pain in the ass," Rudra spoke in boredom.
"But where the hell am I?" he wondered as he looked around, seeing that the surroundings were purple and this strange black water. Had he been captured by a god?
"Nah, they're not capable of that," Rudra said as he sat down.
In his world, gods weren't that powerful. He himself could defeat most of them, and he was confident he could have beaten Gaia in a one-on-one fight. So then, where was he?
In front of Rudra, a golden screen appeared with the text:
[Do you wish to continue your life?]
[Yes] - [No]
Rudra pressed Yes, and the screen changed.
[Which world would you like to reincarnate in?]
Rudra looked at the screen.
"Anywhere with hot women," he said, bored.
"This really feels like a fanfic written by shut-ins," Rudra murmured.
"That means I'll probably end up in some anime world."
As Rudra spoke, the screen changed again.
[Do you wish to change your appearance?]
"No," Rudra said, still bored.
[Searching for a world to reincarnate in... World found: Hot women = DxD]
Rudra raised an eyebrow.
"An ecchi world?"
[Loading random reward system...]
This made Rudra frown.
"Wait, does this mean I won't have my powers? Random rewards? What kind of joke is this?"
[Alright, host Rudra, enjoy your new world!]
...
Rudra rolled his eyes as he dodged yet another thrust from a kid whose name he couldn't even remember. With a quick strike to the head using his wooden sword, Rudra knocked the boy unconscious.
He counted—this was the 23rd kid he had knocked out today.
[150 points obtained today.]
The system's voice echoed in his head, and Rudra felt satisfied.
He had been born into this world five years ago. The system collected points, which were earned by being recognized, noticed by others, and interfering with the storyline.
Rudra was an orphan who was currently considered a prodigy by the Church. He was saving up points because, quite simply, the random reward system required purchasing packs with points.
The basic bronze pack cost 250 points. The advanced bronze pack cost 500 points. The basic silver pack cost 1,000 points. The advanced silver pack cost 2,000 points. The basic gold pack cost 5,000 points. The advanced gold pack cost 10,000 points. The diamond pack cost 100,000 points.
"System, show me my points," Rudra ordered.
[Host Rudra possesses 1,000 points.]
This made Rudra frown. He had been aiming for at least the gold pack, but it seemed that being the prodigy of a little-known church and beating up these idiots wasn't earning him much.
He needed to think of a way to earn points faster.
"Well done, Rudra. Your performance is outstanding as always. If you keep this up, you'll definitely get to train at the Vatican," a low-ranking exorcist praised him.
Rudra simply nodded before heading to his dormitory.
The church was quite poor, and even the instructors and nuns had to sleep in the same rooms as the children due to the lack of space. To make matters worse, there were a total of 40 children living there.
Rudra frowned.
All the abilities he had once possessed without effort were gone—his magic, his Recarga Form, and most importantly, his Iron King Form.
Everything had been taken from him because of Gaia and the gods' own disputes.
With a sigh, Rudra lay down, deciding to take a short four-hour nap.
Rudra woke up at night to the sounds of fighting outside the church. Grabbing his wooden sword, he silently left the room. Looking out the church window, he saw one of the instructors being sent flying against the church wall. The instructor groaned in pain as two figures walked toward him. Both had bat-like wings, but one had four wings in total while the other had two.
"What bad luck, we actually ran into the worst church in history," the four-winged demon sneered as he grabbed the instructor by the hair, making him grunt in pain. "But if you hand over all the nuns, maybe we can come to an agreement."
The demon wore a depraved smile, but the instructor spat in his face. His expression darkened before he threw the instructor against the church again.
"You, burn this church," the four-winged demon ordered the two-winged one while stepping back.
"But what about the nuns?" the two-winged demon hesitated, only to receive a fierce glare.
"I just gave you a damn order, and you're going to follow it."
The two-winged demon fell silent, conjuring a small magic circle. But before he could set the church on fire, a wooden sword was thrown at him, striking him directly in the groin. The demon screamed in pain while the other one grimaced.
Rudra jumped from the window with a shard of glass in hand, attempting to slash the demon's throat. The demon blocked with his hand and tried to kick Rudra, who dodged and used the opening to stab a piece of glass into the demon's leg before retreating to his injured instructor.
"Rudra," the instructor murmured as Rudra stood beside him.
"Rudra, wake the children and get them far from here. I'll try to buy some time," the instructor said as he struggled to stand.
But Rudra didn't move.
"Master, give me your sword," Rudra demanded, extending his hand.
The instructor was stunned. He knew Rudra was talented, but defeating two demons was madness—he hadn't even managed to touch the four-winged one. But seeing Rudra's outstretched hand and the approaching demon, he had to make a decision. The instructor handed over the sword and stood up.
"Once I finish evacuating, I'll call for reinforcements and come back to help you," he said before running into the church.
Rudra turned to the two demons.
"You're pathetic," the four-winged demon scoffed at the two-winged one, who was still writhing in pain. With a swift movement, he plunged his hand through his comrade's head.
"Congratulations, you killed a demon according to the records," the four-winged demon clapped after withdrawing his hand from his fallen companion's skull.
Rudra ignored him and started running in circles around him.
"Is this some kind of tactic?" the demon asked, receiving no answer. "Alright, I guess I'll have to start this fight myself."
In an instant, the demon appeared in front of Rudra. But before he could attack, he saw what looked like three swords instead of one. Before he could react, his head was severed.
Rudra stopped and looked at the demon's fallen body.
"Well, you actually killed two of my comrades," a voice spoke behind him.
Rudra instinctively swung to decapitate the speaker, but the figure grabbed his arm and threw him backward.
"No need to be so aggressive. I'm just your executioner, after all," the voice taunted.
Rudra steadied himself and turned to see a man with black hair and six wings.
Rudra frowned. Had they really sent a six-winged demon to a poor church?
The demon started laughing.
"You think you can kill me?" He sounded as if he'd just heard the funniest joke.
Rudra remained unfazed. Was this second-rate demon mocking him, Prince Rudra Rhomnominias?
'I just hope that instructor actually calls for reinforcements,' Rudra thought as the demon stood there with a mocking grin.
Then, in a flash, the demon disappeared.
Rudra instinctively blocked to his left, barely stopping the demon's strike but getting sent flying in the process.
"Impressive reflexes," the demon praised before attacking again, with the same result.
This was exactly what Rudra was waiting for—a single opening.
As the demon struck again, Rudra didn't just block—he countered with a slash that left a deep wound in the demon's abdomen.
Rudra quickly retreated as the demon stood there, trembling with rage.
"You damn brat, you actually hurt me," the demon snarled, seemingly going mad. A magic circle formed as he launched a green sphere.
Rudra barely dodged it, and the spot where it landed started melting.
As Rudra tried to stand, the demon landed a brutal kick, sending him crashing through the church wall.
Suddenly, the demon grabbed Rudra's leg and dragged him outside. Rudra tried to slash him, but the demon flung him into the trees.
Then, the demon charged toward Rudra.
Seeing him approach, Rudra threw his sword. The demon slightly tilted his head, barely dodging it.
The demon then delivered a kick to Rudra's stomach, making him grunt in pain.
Rudra looked at the demon and gave a small smile.
The demon, furious, grabbed Rudra by the hair and lifted him slowly.
"Listen, brat, I'll give you the honor of saying your last words before you melt in acid," the demon said, regaining his arrogant tone.
Rudra gave him another smile.
"Behind you," he murmured.
The demon heard him and turned.
Standing there was a bald, incredibly muscular man holding the sword Rudra had thrown earlier.
The demon had no time to react before he was cut in two.
Rudra fell on his backside, staring at the giant man who had just killed the demon with a single attack.
"Are you okay, kid?" the large man asked Rudra, who was still sitting.
Rudra stood up. "Thank you very much for saving me," he said gratefully.
Behind the large man, his instructor appeared.
"Wow, Rudra, you're amazing! You managed to kill those two demons and hold your own against this one," his instructor said excitedly.
"Remember when I told you about the Vatican? This man is their greatest assault force, Lord Vasco Strada," the instructor introduced him.
"He's the one who will take you to the Vatican," the instructor confirmed.
[The host has received 3000 points.]
The system's voice echoed, causing Rudra's eyes to widen in happiness—though for Strada and the instructor, they assumed it was because of the news about his transfer to the Vatican.
