However, the peace was soon shattered. Norikata's experiments on becoming a Dead Apostle went awry, turning Shirley into a ghoul. This attracted the attention of the Holy Church's Executors and the Mage's Association's enforcers. The island's inhabitants were slaughtered.

Kiritsugu, realizing his father was the cause of the disaster, shot and killed the man he deeply loved.

He didn't want to openly compete with the God of the Bible for worship—at least, not overtly.

However, as Akira modified the statue, something unexpected happened.

A surge of energy from the statue flowed into Akira's body, forming a golden droplet within him.

So this is... the power of faith?

Akira immersed his consciousness into it and heard the prayers of the islanders.

"Oh great deity! Please bless my husband's fishing trip."

"Deity, may this year's harvest be as bountiful as last year's."

Akira decided to investigate who had made such a bold prayer.

Soon, a tanned, black-haired beauty came into view.
