Chapter 57 - The Spear of Heavens, Gungnir!

'What does he mean?'

'What does he mean by the true power of Gungnir!?'

Aizen questioned himself inwardly.

In truth, he already knew the answer; he just didn't want to accept it. The sense of powerlessness he felt when facing Gungnir, as if fate had gripped him by the throat, was still vivid.

But now, being told that Gungnir hadn't even displayed its true power, was something Aizen found hard to accept.

It wasn't just Aizen; Gin and Tōsen also found it difficult to accept. Unable to accept this reality, they started to find excuses, convincing themselves that Gilgamesh was bluffing because he had run out of tricks.

Despite the obvious flaws in their reasoning, they preferred to believe this over the idea that Gungnir hadn't shown its full power.

At this moment, Aizen had already calmed his fluctuating emotions. The most important task now was to kill Gilgamesh. To achieve that, he needed to remain composed.

Gilgamesh was too tricky. Even if he couldn't use Gungnir again, the speed of Vimana alone was beyond Aizen's reach. Thus, the opportunities to kill Gilgamesh were few and fleeting, and Aizen had to seize them firmly.

Aizen awaited the arrival of Baraggan Louisenbairn. As the ruler of Hueco Mundo and an ancient Hollow, Baraggan's strength was unparalleled, even beyond Aizen's current abilities. Especially troublesome was Baraggan's ability to decay everything, making him a formidable adversary.

Of course, being unable to rival Baraggan's power didn't mean Aizen couldn't defeat him. After all, Aizen still had the trump card, Kyōka Suigetsu. As for the other Hollows coming, though some could rival Captain-level Shinigami, Aizen didn't consider them significant threats.

He could easily kill them if he wished, but he kept them alive, planning to fully conquer Hueco Mundo and use these Hollows as pawns in his future assault on Soul Society. Even Baraggan Louisenbairn was a piece in Aizen's grand design.

Plans, however, couldn't keep up with changes. Due to Gilgamesh's presence, Aizen had to utilize these future pawns prematurely. He didn't care if some were lost; he believed that once he perfected the Hōgyoku, he could create as many pawns as he needed.

On Vimana, Gilgamesh sat on his golden throne, gently stroking Yoruichi with one hand while pulling Gungnir from a golden ripple with the other. He then stood up slowly, with Yoruichi leaping onto his shoulder, as if understanding his intention.

This was the first time Gilgamesh stood up. He had been sitting because he needed the top-quality magic gems embedded in the throne to support the use of his treasures. Now, with only four gems left, they couldn't sustain Gungnir's full power.

Gilgamesh had grown tired of sitting and stood up to stretch, intending to end the battle.

Aizen, who had been watching Gilgamesh and looking for an opportunity, frowned as he saw him stand. He didn't know what Gilgamesh was planning, but every move Gilgamesh made had so far been beyond Aizen's control and had caused him trouble—the ancient nuclear bomb in the Garganta, the untouchable speed of Vimana, and the destiny-locking Gungnir.

Recalling these events, Aizen couldn't help but be wary. Not only Aizen but also Gin and Tōsen became vigilant when they saw Gilgamesh stand.

Gin, watching Gilgamesh approach with Gungnir in hand, felt his heartbeat quicken and instinctively stepped back. His fear wasn't unfounded; Gilgamesh had previously tried to kill him with Caladbolg.

Step by step, Gilgamesh walked to the edge of Vimana. Gin, seeing this, realized Gilgamesh wasn't looking at him but at the rapidly approaching Baraggan. This realization brought both shame and relief to Gin, who then fixated on Gilgamesh.

Aizen, Gin, and Tōsen all stared at Gilgamesh, realizing what he intended. Under their watchful eyes, Gilgamesh began chanting the full release of Gungnir's true power. His voice, though youthful, was imbued with commanding authority, resonating clearly in their ears.

"The era of the gods is ending!"

"The lost spear of the heavens, Gungnir!"

As Gilgamesh chanted, Gungnir emitted a blazing lightning and a blood-red light symbolizing the end. Despite lacking spiritual pressure, everyone felt an intense aura of death.

It seemed as if they were witnessing the end of an era, the fall of countless gods. Their hearts pounded wildly.

"In the name of Odin, I command you, go forth, shatter the gods' future, and bring forth Ragnarok!"

"Gungnir!!"
