Chapter 50: The Sealed Room

The morning sun rays shined on the school grounds, yet an air of tension surrounded Rias and her peerage as they stood before an old, ominous door in their club room.

The door was old and jammed, its surface worn and cracked, and heavy chains wrapped around it, securing whatever lay within. The atmosphere was thick with anticipation and a hint of unease.

Raizel stood silently beside Akeno, his hand gently holding hers. His calm demeanor betrayed none of the emotions stirring within him, but the slight squeeze of her hand revealed his quiet support.

Akeno glanced up at him, drawing strength from his presence as they both stood together.

Rias stepped forward, her gaze fixed on the door. "This is it," she said, her voice steady but tinged with curiosity. "The room has been sealed for as long as anyone can remember. Today, we will meet our old member again."

Kiba and Xenovia exchanged glances, their hands resting on the hilts of their swords. Issei, standing slightly behind them, fidgeted nervously.

As gasper was still seated in the coffine. Rias, standing beside Raizel, turned to her peers, her voice steady but filled with concern. "He is Gasper, our Bishop. He's a vampire."

The other students and members of the group exchanged confused looks. Issei, who had been quietly observing the exchange, spoke up, her voice tinged with curiosity. "What do you mean? Is he not human?"

Rias hesitated for a moment before she answered. "Gasper... he is a Dampir. A half-human, half-vampire hybrid. He's had a difficult life, one filled with isolation and fear of his own power. The coffin you saw is not just a containment vessel—it's his prison, meant to protect him from himself."

Akeno, standing by Raizel, added softly, "His powers are dangerous, and his abilities could cause harm if they're not kept in check. We kept him hidden for his own safety," She glanced at Gasper as she spoke."

Issei, who had been listening closely, scratched his head. "So... this whole time, Gasper's been a half-vampire, and no one knew? But why the coffin? What exactly is he capable of?"

Rias gave a small nod, her expression serious. "Gasper has the ability to manipulate time. His sacred gear, the Bishop's Eye, allows him to stop time around him, essentially freezing everything except for himself. It's a power that could devastate anything in its path if not properly controlled."

Raizel remained silent for a moment, his eyes focused on Gasper, who was still looking down, avoiding everyone's gaze. Despite the tension in the air, Raizel's calm presence seemed to provide some sense of stability to those around him.

Gasper, who had been listening intently, now raised his head, his purple eyes filled with a mixture of shame and uncertainty. "I never wanted to hurt anyone," he muttered, almost to himself. "I was afraid... I didn't want to hurt the people I care about. That's why I stayed in the coffin... away from everyone."

Akeno approached him gently, her hand resting on his shoulder. "Gasper, you're not alone anymore. You don't have to hide. We'll help you, but you have to trust us. And you need to control your powers, for everyone's sake."

The room was filled with a heavy silence as everyone processed the gravity of the situation. The weight of Gasper's existence, his dangerous powers, and the long-hidden truth was finally laid bare.

Issei, who had been silent for a while, finally spoke up with a grin. "Well, if he's going to be part of our team now, I guess we'll have to make sure he doesn't use his powers on us, right?"

Rias, though still concerned, smiled softly at Issei's attempt at lightening the mood. "Yes, Issei. We'll have to keep a close eye on him. But we're a team now, and we'll face whatever challenges come our way together."

Gasper, still overwhelmed by the attention, slowly nodded. "I... I'll try. I want to help. I don't want to hurt anyone."

As the atmosphere in the clubroom began to settle, with everyone engaging in light conversation and explaining the events that had transpired, Gasper, who had been quietly absorbing everything, noticed something in the corner of the room.

A large cardboard box had been placed there, seemingly out of place amidst the otherwise calm and collected surroundings. He eyed it curiously for a moment.

Raizel, noticing his distracted gaze, gave him a small smile. "Gasper, what's caught your attention?"

Without warning, Gasper's curiosity got the better of him, and before anyone could react, he darted over to the box. "What's this? A new hiding place?" he muttered under his breath, almost to himself.

Everyone turned to look, surprised at his sudden decision. Issei, ever the curious one, raised an eyebrow. "Hey, Gasper! What are you doing? That's not a place for hiding!"

But Gasper, undeterred by the teasing tone in Issei's voice, crouched next to the box, peering inside. "I'm just... looking!" His voice held a touch of mischief, though it was clear that part of him simply wanted to escape the attention for a moment.

Akeno chuckled softly from her position nearby. "Gasper, you know you can't just crawl into things like that, right?"

Gasper, however, wasn't paying attention to her teasing. Instead, he was already slipping inside the box, his small frame easily fitting into it. He curled up into the cardboard like it was a little sanctuary, feeling a strange sense of comfort in the quiet space it provided.

"You can't be serious," Rias said, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "That's... unexpected."

"I guess he really does like his hiding spots," Kiba said with a laugh, looking at Gasper with a mix of amusement and fondness.

"Gasper," Raizel began with a gentle smile, his tone calm and almost affectionate, "it's not necessary to hide. There's no need to be so quiet about things."

From inside the box, Gasper poked his head out, his eyes a little wide but still half-hidden by the flaps. "I'm not hiding, just... taking a break. It's kind of nice in here, actually."

Akeno walked over to the box and crouched beside it, her eyes soft with understanding. "You're allowed to rest, Gasper. But you don't have to hide in a box to do that. We're all friends here. No need to be so distant."

Gasper's cheeks flushed slightly, and he sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "It's just... easier to think sometimes when I'm by myself."

Issei grinned as he approached the box, leaning in slightly. "Come on, Gasper, are you really gonna stay in there? You're not some kind of cat who fits in tiny spaces!"

Gasper, still inside, looked up at him with an embarrassed but playful expression. "I'm not a cat! I just thought it would be... fun!"

"Well, if you're so comfortable, we might have to start calling you 'box boy' now!" Issei teased, though his words carried no malice, just lighthearted humor.

At that, Gasper finally emerged from the box, his cheeks tinged with pink as he glanced at everyone, trying to maintain his composure despite the teasing. "Okay, okay, I'm out. But I do still think boxes are cool."

"Boxes are cool, I suppose," Akeno said with a wink, "but maybe not as much fun as being with everyone else, right?"

Gasper hesitated, his gaze flickering toward the group before he nodded, albeit somewhat reluctantly.

"Yeah... I guess you're right." He looked down, his tone more serious now. "It's just... sometimes, I don't know how to be around so many people. I get nervous."
