I chose Luck and was given Infinite Luck

Chapter 39: A Perfect World Coming Undone

A Perfect World Coming Undone

1. When Luck Stops Making Sense (Tom's POV)

Tom sprinted across the burning battlefield, his heart hammering in his chest.

The S-Rank Dungeon Raid had gone south fast.

They were supposed to fight a Nightmare-Class Wraith Lord—a legendary opponent known for wiping entire guilds.

But something was wrong.

The monster wasn't attacking.

It was just… standing there.

As if it was waiting for something.

Derek rushed up beside him, panting. "What's it doing?"

Tom didn't answer.

Because the moment he stepped closer, the Wraith jerked unnaturally, like a glitching image.

Then—

It reset.

One moment, it was mid-attack, claws raised.

The next, it was back in its starting position.

Like the fight had never started.

Tom's blood ran cold.

That wasn't normal.

It wasn't possible.

He blinked.

The Wraith was gone.

His party members cheered, congratulating each other.

The system displayed:

[Dungeon Cleared – Rewards Claimed]

Tom's fingers curled into fists.

No.

He hadn't defeated it.

The world had just decided it was over.

The illusion had glitched.

And for the first time, it didn't fix itself fast enough.

2. A Face That Doesn't Belong (Stacy's POV)

Stacy wiped sweat from her brow, stepping off the training platform after another flawless session.

The instructor clapped her on the back. "Excellent work, Stacy. You're shaping up to be one of our best students."

She smirked. "Shaping up? I am the best."

The instructor laughed, nodding.

And then—

His face twitched.

For a second—just a split second—his expression shifted into something… wrong.

Not human.

Not real.

A blurred, faceless void, flickering in and out of existence.

Then—back to normal.

Her breath hitched.

She staggered back, staring at him.

He just smiled. Like nothing happened.

Like she hadn't just seen his entire existence glitch.

Her hands trembled.

She turned and walked away fast.

Because if she stayed, she might start asking questions she wasn't ready to answer.

3. A Home That Can't Hold Itself Together (Diane's POV)

Diane set down her tea cup, glancing toward the living room.

Something felt wrong.

She turned her head—

And the entire room was gone.

A black void stretched where the walls should be, an endless nothingness swallowing the space where her home had been.

Her throat tightened.

She blinked.

And the room was back.

Perfectly intact. As if nothing had ever happened.

Her hands trembled.

She forced herself to breathe.

The world was breaking.

And this time—it hadn't hidden itself fast enough.

4. A Name That Can't Be Ignored (Mike's POV)

Mike was fixing a broken lightbulb in the hallway when he heard it again.

The whisper.

"…Orion."

His fingers tightened around the screwdriver.

"No," he muttered. "Not real."

"…Orion."

Louder this time.

He turned sharply.

And someone was standing at the end of the hallway.

A shadowed figure.

Watching him.

Waiting.

Mike's breath caught.

He stepped forward—

And the figure vanished.

The hallway stretched out like nothing had been there.

His hands shook.

The illusion had slipped.

And for the first time, Mike didn't want to let it correct itself.

5. A Truth They Can No Longer Deny (Final Scene – Group POV)

That night, the family sat at the dining table, but the air was different.

They weren't at ease.

They weren't fully present.

Because now, the questions weren't just nagging thoughts in the back of their minds.

They were real fears.

Tom's fight had skipped to the end.

Stacy had seen a face that shouldn't exist.

Diane had watched her house vanish into nothing.

And Mike had faced something that knew his real name.

The illusion had tried to hold them in place.

But it was breaking.

And this time—

None of them could ignore it.
