“What honeymoon? I’m working!” she retorted righteously, though her cheeks were somewhat burning.
“Alright, alright, work.” Shen Yushan giggled, “By the way, didn’t you ask me to check on Ning Yichen’s condition at Siming Hospital when I have time? I just peeked at his ward, and he’s doing quite well. He can walk without crutches now. You can rest assured.”
Su Zixi pursed her lips into a smile, “That’s good to hear, Yushan. Thank you.”
“No problem, who are we to each other! I’m still looking forward to my internship at HI! After my exams, I’ll come keep you company!” Shen Yushan said cheerfully, “Gotta go, hanging up now!”
“Okay. Goodbye.” After hanging up, Su Zixi truly spaced out for a moment. She suddenly realized that even upon hearing Ning Yichen’s name, her heart no longer fluctuated as it once did.

Shen Yushan stood in the corridor, ending the call happily.
She had just put her phone in her bag when suddenly a faint voice came from behind: “Who are you?”
Shen Yushan almost threw her phone in fright!
She swiftly turned around, only to see Ning Yichen standing behind her, looking at her coldly.
“You scared the hell out of me!” Shen Yushan pretended to be angry, “And who might you be? Popping up behind me like that? This is a corridor, what’s wrong with standing here?”
“Stop pretending.” Ning Yichen’s complexion was a bit pale, his lips curving into a scornful smirk, “You were talking to Su Zixi on the phone, weren’t you? Did she send you to check on my condition?”
Shen Yushan felt a tightness in her heart!
He had heard everything… How was she going to explain this to Zhixi now?
She could only continue to feign ignorance, “What are you talking about? Who’s Su Zixi?”
“Tell her I’m doing very well. Since she’s already married to He Jingyao, she’d better not concern herself with other men.” Ning Yichen’s smile was cold and mocking, “If He Jingyao finds out about her divided attentions, she won’t end up well.”
