I Became A Flashing Genius At The Magic Academy

Chapter 340: Special Bloodline (2)

<template id="B:0"></template>

His purpose of gathering the blessings of the Twelve Divine Moons had always been to prevent the world’s destruction.

But in the game, the motivations were entirely different.

Veteran players, having exhausted all available content, began searching for something new to pursue.

Then, upon discovering that the blessings of the Twelve Divine Moons granted special stats, powers, and skills, they dove into it like madmen.

Back then, with little else to do, Baek Yu-Seol had devoted himself to honing the Twelve Divine Moons’ abilities. But now, things had changed.

Even after obtaining the blessings, he barely had any time to properly train them.

Life had simply been too chaotic to allow it.

Currently, Baek Yu-Seol had acquired as many as five blessings, yet the only one he could properly handle was the Blessing of the Pink Spring Moon.

'This works out perfectly. I’ll practice them one by one during winter break.'

Closing his eyes, Baek Yu-Seol carefully focused on the energies of the Twelve Divine Moons that resonated within him.

In truth, despite the grandiose name 'blessing,' it wasn’t as if it suddenly granted some overwhelmingly powerful ability.

At best, it only slightly enhanced the corresponding attribute.

Because of this, Baek Yu-Seol thought that the Blessing of the Blue Winter Moon would probably suit Eisel better.

Still, even if one couldn’t directly wield ice attributes, it didn’t render the blessing useless.

For example...

[The Blessing of Blue Winter Moon]

Baek Yu-Seol’s eyes gleamed a frosty blue, and a chill swept through the training hall as frost-like mana surged from his Teripon Sword.

Snowflake-like particles danced from its blade, releasing a biting aura that seeped into the air.

This was one of the powers granted by the blessing. It allowed the user to wield the attribute, even if they had no prior affinity for it.

Of course, for naturally talented individuals like Hae Won-Ryang or Ma Yu-Seong, who could manipulate multiple attributes at once, this feature might be unnecessary.

But what if someone like Hong Bi-Yeon of the Adolevit family, who could only wield fire attribute yet mastered it to its extremes, were to acquire the Blessing of Blue Winter Moon?

She might have displayed an awe-inspiring mastery, balancing fire and ice at their peaks simultaneously.

To Baek Yu-Seol, who couldn’t wield any attributes, this seemed impressive.

However, in reality, it didn’t hold much significance.

Since he couldn’t use magic to begin with, wielding ice mana wouldn’t lead to any spectacular breakthroughs.

“...What am I even supposed to do with this?”

So, Baek Yu-Seol resolved to focus more on grasping the essence of the Twelve Divine Moons rather than just their attributes.

[Blessing of Blue Winter Moon Lv.3]

‘A single snowflake blooming from the glacier of annihilation shall never wither.’

The Blue Winter Moon embodied the ice attribute - capable of freezing even time and space - along with the unyielding perseverance to endure against all odds.

[Blessing of Pink Spring Moon Lv.5]

‘Even if the world turns its back on you, a heart tinted with spring’s crimson hue shall remain unwavering.’

The Pink Spring Moon bestowed an unshakable mental fortitude, as resolute and unyielding as tempered steel.

[Blessing of Silver Autumn Moon  Lv.3]

‘Tick-tock, the silver time flows.’

As for the Silver Autumn Moon… To this day, Baek Yu-Seol had never fully deciphered its meaning, not even during his time in Aether World Online. Its mysteries remained unsolved.

“What about Dusk Soil Moon and Soft Green Spring Moon?”

Summoning two skill slots into the air, Baek Yu-Seol examined them closely.

[Blessing of Dusk Soil Moon Lv.1]

‘You may close your eyes and rest peacefully. I shall protect you.’

The Dusk Soil Moon wielded the attribute of earth and embodied an unyielding resolve to protect, no matter the cost.

[Blessing of Soft Green Spring Moon Lv.1]

‘Rejoice, for in every fleeting moment you pass by… life continues to bloom.’

Soft Green Spring Moon, tied to the vitality of plants, possessed the ability to manipulate life force and carried a unique trait that allowed it to heal both the user and others.

“So, the blessings resemble the personalities of the Twelve Divine Moons?”

That might explain why Baek Yu-Seol had adapted so quickly to the Blessing of Pink Spring Moon.

From the moment he stepped into Aether World, he had carried within him a quiet but unshakable determination.

The same applied to the unyielding perseverance of Blue Winter Moon.

As a Korean, stubbornness and tenacity had always been deeply ingrained in him… qualities that likely accelerated his mastery of the blessing.

But wielding the other energies? That was another story entirely.

Even channeling their energy into the Teripon Sword proved difficult.

For instance, the silver mana of Silver Autumn Moon—Baek Yu-Seol still had no idea how to extract or manifest it properly.

If he were to focus on mastering another blessing next, the Dusk Soil Moon seemed like the most promising choice.

His desire to protect others had become an unshakable part of who he was.

Unlike his past, when he had barely been able to survive on his own, he now had someone he wanted to protect.

Woong![Blessing of Dusk Soil Moon]

As Baek Yu-Seol closed his eyes and focused his energy, a faint brown light briefly flickered in his pupils.

Yet, the Teripon Sword remained cloaked in the icy glow of the Blue Winter Moon, and no visible changes appeared in his body.

Still, something had shifted.

Baek Yu-Seol stepped toward the nearby scarecrow sandbag and threw his left fist at it with all his strength.

Boom!!!

The scarecrow’s head, which was as hard as a rock, crumbled under the impact. It was an overwhelming display of raw power.

But up until now, Baek Yu-Seol had never been able to unleash such strength freely.

Despite having the sheer strength to break rocks, his body’s endurance had always lagged behind.

This meant the recoil from his attacks always took a toll on him.

But now…

“It doesn’t hurt at all...”

His fist had been enveloped in an invisible force, shielding it completely. Not even a scratch marred his skin.

Of course, the protective barrier had been so fragile that it shattered the moment his punch landed.

However, the fact that he had gained a means to shield his body—even outside of Harmony of Heavenly Qi—was the most important takeaway.

‘This could be useful even during Harmony of Heavenly Qi.’

He couldn’t afford to celebrate just yet.

Shhhh...

As soon as he tested Dusk Soil Moon’s ability, the blessing of Blue Winter Moon abruptly faded.

“Hmm...”

While he had roughly figured out the abilities, there was still a sense of frustration gnawing at him.

‘Silver Autumn Moon’s blessing… How am I supposed to use it?’

Even back in Aether World, no player had ever been able to fully unlock its potential.

At the very least, Baek Yu-Seol wanted to draw out its silver mana, but unlike the mana of the other Twelve Divine Moons, he couldn’t even do that.

Perhaps because its attribute was ‘time’, its mana seemed fundamentally different from the others.

“Seriously, it’s nothing like Flash magic. What kind of ability is this supposed to be?”

Feeling dejected, Baek Yu-Seol slumped to the ground and absentmindedly muttered to himself.

Then, suddenly, his thoughts came to a halt.

… Flash.

Come to think of it, Flash was a non-attribute magic.

Non-attribute magic was generally common… spells that used mana to create light, telekinetic powers to lift objects, or mana shields for protection.

They were all classified as non-attribute magic, but if you looked closely, Flash wasn’t exactly non-attribute magic.

According to the detailed information listed on the Aether World Online official website, non-attribute magic was always labeled as [No Attribute]. In contrast, Flash’s attribute field was marked as [???].

Of course, Flash wasn’t the only skill like that. There were several others. However, most people didn’t pay much attention to them since they turned out to be nothing special once examined closely…

But thinking about it now… wasn’t it strangely similar to the attribute of the Silver Autumn Moon?

Silver Autumn Moon’s mana wasn’t classified as [No Attribute], and since its very existence as mana was faint, it was closer to [???].

Time itself remained an uncharted realm, untouched by the mastery of mages. It lingered as an unanswered question… an unknown.

Flash was no different.

Despite having no mana whatsoever, Baek Yu-Seol could activate it endlessly, with only a slight cooldown as its restriction. It was a form of magic even the most skilled mages hadn’t unraveled.

“Should I give it a try…?”

Honestly, it was such a sudden and absurd idea that it seemed likely to be a waste of time. But wouldn’t it be better to at least try?

Click!

“Ah, Yu-Seol. So this is where you were.”

“Huh?”

But before he could even start proper training, an uninvited guest showed up, forcing him to stop.

It was Ma Yu-Seong, drenched in sweat, with a towel draped around his neck, who had apparently come looking for him.

“I figured you’d be here training.”

“What about you? What were you doing?”

“Soccer.”

“Soccer…?”

“Yeah. It was fun.”

Even while drenched in sweat, Ma Yu-Seong’s effortlessly handsome looks and the towel hanging loosely over his shoulders made him look like the male lead of a romance game straight out of a girl’s fantasy.

“Forget it. I’m terrible at physical activities.”

“… So, what’s up?”

“I saw you on my way back, so I thought I’d drop by. It’s been a while since we did any club activities together.”

“Oh… Has it?”

Now that he thought about it, he wasn’t sure how the club activities had turned out. Technically, Baek Yu-Seol was the club president, but he had offloaded most of the work onto Eisel.

Not that he felt guilty about it at all.

After all, it was a gourmet club. As long as he found good restaurants, wasn’t that enough?

That mindset had firmly taken root in Baek Yu-Seol’s heart.

“So what, are we just going to hit a restaurant without Eisel?”

“Huh? Where did Eisel go?”

“I feel like you’re so formal around people your age. She went to a ski resort.”

“Oh… I see.”

Hearing the word ‘ski resort,’ Baek Yu-Seol suddenly recalled something.

‘Wait? A ski resort?’

It was such a familiar term that he almost dismissed it without much thought. But now that he considered it, wasn’t there a ski resort event during the second semester of sophomore year’s winter break?

“Hmmm…”

This couldn’t just be a coincidence. It had to be connected to something. It felt like Flame - that unpredictable force - had a plan brewing.

‘Didn’t someone mention a secret technique left behind by Duke Morph?’

He tried to jog his memory, but nothing came to mind. It was probably because he skipped through most of the game’s storyline.

Maybe it would’ve helped if he had leveled up the character Eisel in the game.

‘I think players who leveled up Eisel frequently visited that place to acquire some special skill.’

Based on the original storyline, nothing significant was supposed to happen at the ski resort. It was supposed to pass quietly.

Of course, as usual, ‘variables’ were always unpredictable and terrifying. But being too afraid of variables to let Flame and Eisel go off on their own would be ridiculous.

‘I need to focus on my own tasks for now.’

With that thought, Baek Yu-Seol picked up a dumbbell.

When things got messy, the best way to clear his mind was through simple, straightforward physical training.

Of course, his training wasn’t actually simple. It was precise, methodical, and - though he’d never admit it - scientifically calculated down to the finest detail.
