Chapter 443: Lis's Backup Plan
```
In the Elf Royal Court amid the Blood Sea,
Cecil's eyes were tightly shut, yet her expression was one of panic and terror, her brows trembling continuously, as if she were immersed in an unimaginable nightmare.
Seeing Cecil, Lis still felt a tremor in his heart, and the scenes from the illusion appeared before him again.
Lady Arianna...
Lis sighed, his sword flashing he cut open the disgusting tumors on Cecil's body and gently lifted her frail figure, separating her from the fresh blood and tumors.
"Cecil, wake up!"
Lis held Cecil in his arms and leaped to a relatively clean area, gently shaking her body and saying.
But no matter how Lis called out, Cecil did not awaken, unable to break free from the long-entrenched nightmare.
Lis even used the Purification Spell, but it had no effect.
"Is this the illusion formed by Demogorgon's power?"
"It seems, apart from relying on one's own will to break free from the illusion, it's very hard for others to help."
After a brief contemplation, Lis understood Cecil's predicament.
With his current strength, it was still too difficult to contend with Demogorgon, and it appeared that now only Cecil's own will could save her.
However...
Lis looked around at the city filled with polluted blood and strange rotten flesh, realizing this environment was still too dangerous.
Even though it seemed safe for now, if they continued, no one knew what would happen.
In his previous life, when the Elf Kingdom discovered that the Elf Royal Court had been destroyed, the scene bore no resemblance to this horrific blood and tumors.
Lis, holding Cecil, determined the direction and rushed toward the nearest city wall.
All he could do now was leave the Elf Royal Court as soon as possible, take Cecil to a safe place, and then consider other matters.
The area of the entire Elf Royal Court was quite large, and Lis and his companions were on the edge of the Royal Court, having not ventured deep into the city.
Therefore, the distance to the walls of the Royal Court was not far.
Before long, Lis had crossed through the Elf Royal Court amidst the Blood Sea, arriving at the location of the city walls.
When he stepped upon the wall, Lis looked at the scene outside the Elf Royal Court and involuntarily gasped in shock.
Once vibrant and lush with greenery, the vast sea of Elf Ancient Trees outside the Elf Royal Court had now become a horrifying scene within the Blood Sea, turned into the most mournful and evil song, a thick crimson fog shrouding the land, casting everything in an even more sinister and dreadful light.
Those Elf Ancient Trees, which had witnessed countless eons and sheltered numerous beings, had now lost their former glory and tranquility.
Their leaves were no longer luscious, but withered under the erosion of the Blood Sea, leaving only bare branches that swayed feebly in the dark red tides as if they were the last struggles in despair.
The once tall and majestic guardians of the Elf Royal Court were now covered in an ominous dark red, not only stained with blood but also marked by the erosion of Abyss Power.
Every crack in the tree trunks was twisted and fierce, as if torn by invisible claws or twisted inside out from pain, screaming in agony.
From these cracks, wisps of black smoke and evil breaths would occasionally seep out, hovering in the air, weaving and forming an invisible net that enveloped the entire sea of trees in an indescribable oppression and terror.
The Blood Sea churned with Waves that seemed to conceal even deeper secrets and fears. Occasionally, a deep and eerie sound would come, echoing the Abyss Breath emanating from between the trees, making the entire scene even more bizarre and ominous.
In this cursed sea of trees, whether they were powerful Ancient War Trees, Mysterious Wisdom Ancient Trees, or vibrant Life Ancient Trees, they all stood silently like shells deprived of souls, the breeze passing through them no longer able to play a pleasing tale.
Those beings that once roamed freely, laughing on this land, were now nowhere to be seen, leaving behind only silence and despair.
If that were all, it might have been bearable, but Lis had noticed that these Elf Ancient Trees, completely eroded by the Abyss Blood Sea, had nearly all turned into another kind of evil existence.
The Fallen Abyss Blood Trees!
Lis finally understood why no monsters were found within the Elf Royal Court.
One reason was to not interfere with the subsequent Abyss sacrificial ceremony that Demogorgon would perform.
On the other hand, it must be because of these Abyss Blood Trees outside the city.
This was a special existence that first appeared during the Abyss Blood Battle, when Elf Clan used their Elf Ancient Trees as a trump card on the battlefield of the Blood Battle to kill Demons crazily; the Elf Ancient Trees became completely contaminated by the Abyss Breath and turned into special Demonic Creatures.
That was when the Elves realized that Elf Ancient Trees, rich in Life Power, were easily eroded by the Abyss Breath that represented evil and Fallen, and if not purified in time, they would easily fall and become Abyss Demons.
Since this was the first time Elf Ancient Trees appeared on the battlefield resisting the invasion of Abyss Demons, the existence of the Abyss Blood Trees became known to everyone from that time.
Now, Lis was witnessing such a terrifying number of Abyss Blood Trees outside the Elf Royal Court.
If the shock Lis felt when he first saw the forest of Elf Ancient Trees upon arriving at the Elf Royal Court was immense, his heart was now filled with even more horror.
"Tsk, this is troublesome."
