"Take it, just think of it as me lending it to you. When you grow up and start earning, you can pay me back."

Shigeru said nonchalantly, "Boys need to carry some money with them. What if you go out, want to grab something to eat, or decide to soak in a hot spring with your friends but don't have any money?"

"But..."

"Alright, don't argue. That's final."

Faced with Shigeru's firm attitude, Namikaze Minato had no choice but to accept the wallet. The little boy secretly swore to himself that he would repay the teacher's kindness when he grew up and became capable.

"Why didn't I get one?!"

The sharp-eyed Nawaki noticed Shigeru handing Namikaze Minato a wallet. Judging from its thickness, it had to contain a lot of money.

Nawaki immediately abandoned his quarrel with Kushina and rushed over.

"Shigeru, I want one too!"

"Go ask your own teacher."

Shigeru raised his foot and pushed Nawaki away with annoyance.

"..."

Ask my teacher? My teacher doesn't even know where he's hiding! What am I supposed to do?

Nawaki's face twisted into disappointment. Seeing his increasingly pitiful expression, Shigeru sighed and relented:

"Fine, fine. Here. But be careful with your spending, and don't buy from that scam artist again. If you waste it, I won't give you any more in the future."

While Shigeru handed out pocket money to Namikaze Minato, he couldn't completely ignore Nawaki. But Nawaki had a bad habit of blowing his money quickly—just like his older sister. He needed to be reined in.

Shigeru figured that if he gave more to Minato and less to Nawaki, Minato would help control Nawaki's spending when he ran out of cash.

"Hehe..."

Nawaki, who was about to cry, grinned foolishly as he clutched his wallet.

"And me!"

Kushina hurried over, unwilling to be left out.

Even though Kushina was well-off, she still wanted her share of pocket money. Shigeru laughed and shook his head:

"Alright, alright, here you go. You all get a share."

The amount wasn't as important as the gesture. Kushina didn't need the money, but for the other two, receiving pocket money meant a lot. If Kushina was excluded, she'd feel left out.

After getting her wallet, Kushina raised her head proudly as if to say, Hmph, I got mine too.

What's more, her wallet was thicker than theirs.

Nawaki's grin froze.

"Teacher, about Sakumo-senpai..."

Namikaze Minato worriedly brought up the topic, fearing that Shigeru would be overshadowed. He couldn't understand why Shigeru's heroic feats weren't as widely celebrated as Sakumo's.

Shigeru, however, remained unfazed.

"Kushina, I think you're my hero, the greatest hero in the village! You're way stronger than Sakumo-senpai!" Kushina declared as she clung to Shigeru.

Ruffling her hair, Shigeru smiled.

"Don't worry about it. I'm not affected. Sakumo-senpai deserves his reputation. As for the rest, don't let it bother you. You're just kids—you should focus on training and school."

Before Kushina could reply, an Anbu ninja suddenly appeared in the living room.

The ninja, codenamed Tiger, knelt down and said, "Sir, the Hokage's office has summoned you for a meeting. Please proceed there immediately."

"I understand. I'll head over now," Shigeru replied calmly.

With Tsunade away from the village, Shigeru had to attend the meeting as Anbu's representative. Since Anbu's restructuring, their role in the village council had increased significantly.

After the Anbu ninja left, Shigeru turned to the three children:

"Stay home. If you're bored, work on your homework or train in the yard. Don't wander off—especially you, Kushina."

He remembered how Kumo Village once kidnapped Kushina during the chaos of war. Shigeru still couldn't fathom how the Third Hokage had allowed that to happen.

After warning them, Shigeru left for the Hokage's office.

"Shigeru, over here!"

In the meeting room, Akimichi waved at him, signaling him to sit nearby. Shigeru walked over and sat down without hesitation.

As soon as he did, Akimichi teased him:

"How's it going? Managing Anbu must be tough, huh?"

"It's manageable," Shigeru replied with a smile. "Most of the grunt work is handled by Senior Luxin. I'm mainly focused on personnel selection, so it's not too overwhelming. Not as busy as you, senior."

"Oh, come on, are you mocking me now?"

Akimichi chuckled. Although his responsibilities had lessened, he still held onto his position as Hokage's assistant, knowing it would be quickly snatched up if vacated.

While they chatted, Shigeru noticed two new faces entering the room: Uchiha Fugaku and Hyuga Hiashi.

Seeing his gaze, Akimichi explained, "You didn't know? The patriarchs of both clans have been in poor health recently, so their young leaders are stepping up to handle matters."

"I see," Shigeru said, patting his forehead. Anbu would need to keep a closer eye on these transitions.

Hyuga Hiashi and Uchiha Fugaku, both attending such an important meeting for the first time, looked nervous. Still, they maintained their stoic expressions.

Hiashi walked over and sat next to Shigeru, with Fugaku taking the seat beside him.

Shigeru, unbothered, continued chatting with Akimichi about trivial topics like food. Their casual conversation stood in stark contrast to the formal demeanor of the two young clan leaders.
