Chapter 2: Hellish High: Chapter 2; The Death Comes
Alora Sylvie's POV
"You have no choice because this is the rule. You must play the game," once again we heard Dean, Mara, and the creepy man, named Gus Bishop laugh again.
"What are you saying? Your rules are against the law," Yulia shouted.
My conclusion was right a while ago. Me and my fellow orphan people were gonna die here today.
"Whether you like it or not, you must play the game." She looked at us one by one, while the smirk never left on her lips.
"You can hide anywhere here at school, but you can't go out… Until the game is over. Now you have ten minutes to hide." She added and laughed again.
Because of what she said, all the people were sitting here on the ground was to start to panic and try to save themselves by running or finding a place to hide.
All I could do was stare at all of them while all of them were crying like a child. I turn my stare too, Dean Mara and her husband. You will see in their faces the happiness that gave us to them.
"What are you doing there, Alora? Come with us now." Yulia cried while saying those things to me, and she was freaking trembling.
I got up, as well, and started running to find a place to hide.
Once again, I looked at Dean Mara and her husband, who were freaking smiling, watching us. All of us were going crazy because of what she said.
"DON'T COME OUT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DIE, JUST HIDE AND STAY. THAT'S THE ONLY WAY TO SURVIVE."
I even heard Dean Mara shout before we finally got away from the school grounds.
'Shit! What kind of school is this?'
'Do you have to play even against your will, seriously?!'
Those assholes said we gonna be fine when we arrived here at school. Even I thought we would go to study here?
But why do we still seem to be the bait in a game we don't like?
I quickly pulled Yulia into the dark part near the stairs. I quickly covered her mouth.
"Shhh..."
I heard voices as we ran into the hallway on the first floor, that we were running right now. Exactly, as we were here on the stairs, I saw the shadow of some student coming down.
I was shocked right now when I saw the students holding sharp knives and bolo knives that were similar to machetes that I thought they would use to kill all of us. I could also feel Yulia's body tremble like crazy. I also feel terrible right now. I don't know what will happen until dawn.
There are five minutes before twelve. We still have five minutes to hide.
I removed my hand from her mouth when all the students who were holding knives and bolo knives were gone.
"Hey, listen to me Yulia, remember what Dean Mara said to us, right?" she immediately nodded at my question.
"Good, we have to separate to survive, so find the place that you think is safe and hide. Don't make a noise. Just hide in that place if you don't want to die, okay?" I added.
I was about to leave to hide when she suddenly grabbed my hand and stopped me.
"Please help me, I don't wanna die here... I don't know what to do, please. I'm begging you."
Shit! We will both die if we do not separate. But I can't leave her here either, especially now, she's freaking trembling with fear.
"Okay, stop crying. You need to shut your mouth and follow me, okay?" She nodded again at what I said.
"So, now you need to stand up and we need to run in that building." Then I pointed my hand to the library building just opposite the building where we are hiding right now.
Before we ran I looked around to see if there were any students or not, when I noticed that there were none I took a deep breath before I took her hand and ran to the library building.
We hid in the dark again. I slowly opened the door of the library, I let Yulia in before me. I also slowly closed it as we entered.
"Where are we going to hide here?" she asked confusingly.
"We'll hide at the end of this building. I'm sure, they won't look at this place much. So here we'll hide," I said with a serious voice. "Just follow me and never make a noise," I added more.
I slowly walked to the other corner of the library.
'SHIT!'
I stopped walking when we heard the loud sirens that only broke the silence around. I could feel my chest throbbing, my whole body was shaking too much.
Once again, I resumed walking as the sirens stopped.
We sat in the dark so that we could hide.
"Thank you, Alora," Yulia whispered
"It's too early to say thank you, Yulia."
"I know, but thank you for not leaving me outside earlier. You didn't let me die right away."
"It's still too early to say thank you."
Once again, silence prevailed between the two of us.
We have been also staying here in the library for thirty minutes. We can already hear screams from outside. We could hear from here in the library the cries of those people with us in the orphanage.
Some people open the library but don't try to enter.
"Shit!"
I said softly when I heard the library door open and a woman singing. I felt Yulia's cold hand as she held my hand.
Suddenly, heavy rain fell.
We also hear the sound of chains.
"Rain ..... rain ..... go ..... away ..... come ..... again ..... another ..... day ..... I need ..... to ..... kill ..... people ..... Hide ..... and ..... seek .... "
Yulia's grip on my hand tightened even more. While I was trembling with fear.
I could also hear the loud thump of my chest.
The way she sang that song was so scary as if you wanted to shout and leave right away so you wouldn't hear her voice.
It's like we're in an IT movie scene. She's the killer clown there while we're the kids he wants to kill and eat.
She repeated what she sang slowly as she approached us.
We quickly bowed as it fired one after another.
