Chapter 477 – Comfy and Warm
Finding the other keys became pretty easy after finding one under the bed in room 202. They came to understand that all the keys were hidden inside the room with the number starting with two-digit numbers in its name.
"We've gathered them all." Max muttered as he looked at the three keys in his hand. The yellow one was heavier than the white one. Meanwhile, the black one was very light and easy to hold. "Let's move to the end of the corridor now. I believe the double door is our exit."
Princess Peach nodded in agreement at his suggestion while Lily stared at the keys silently before grabbing his hand. Max noticed her hand was trembling slightly. It looked like she was nervous, so he gripped her hand tighter to reassure her.
They continued down the hallway together. There was no sign of Flexy anywhere, so he might be dead already. This meant only three of them were left here.
The problem was, these skinwalkers were all around this place, and they couldn't afford to lower their guard. Max was actually glad that he managed to find all three keys. Although they were also chased by skinwalkers while trying to find them, he found something that could combat them.
'Once we enter the room and close the door, they won't be able to enter.'
It was as if they were ghosts who could only enter the room when invited. Open door was also a form of invitation, that was why they were able to enter the room if the door wasn't closed.
That gave him and the two girls a sense of safety. They walked slowly toward the corridor where they saw the double door. After walking for a while on this map, Max was able to remember the route.
'Right, left, then left again, and straight from there.'
As he recalled the path they took, they saw a door that seemed different from the rest of it in front of them.
"We have arrived!" He pointed at the door triumphantly before turning toward Lily and Princess Peach.
They went to the door and stopped in front of him. Max observed it to see where the keys could get in, but was unable to find anything that resembled a hole. Explore more at My Virtual Library Empire
"Huh? It's strange. There is no hole at all."
"Hn?" Lily tilted her head. She also didn't find it.
— No hole? You didn't mention anything about this!
— This is really fishy... I thought Breeze will exit easily
— Maybe they are hidden? Like a secret compartment or something like that?
— Those skinwalkers can morph into us tho? They might use the survivors memory to block the door
— lolololol, is this a thriller now?
"Can you find it?" Princess Peach asked as Max nodded at her.
"Yeah, I finally found it." He grinned.
Behind the extraordinary wooden door was a small rectangular hole that only three keys could fit into. Based on the shape, it fit the keys they found perfectly. Max looked at the two girls and nodded. He inserted his black key first, followed by Lily's white key.
Princess Peach heaved a sigh of relief. She stepped forward to insert the last key, the yellow one to the hole. However, before she could insert it inside...
"Screech..."
The sound of something sharp scraping across the floor rang across the corridor, along with rhythmic heavy footsteps approaching them from behind. The footsteps sounded like someone who dragged their feet to walk. It made his spine tingle in fear just from hearing it.
Everyone looked at the source. Their faces pale from terror as the sound became louder and louder as if something was coming toward them at a rapid speed.
"Just now..."
"...A chain..."
Lily and Princess Peach whispered shakily in fear as Max gulped audibly.
— Oh no, that sounds bad
— GET OVER HERE!!
— The skinwalkers are trying to find their prey
— That came out of nowhere. Was it a forced event?
— Forced or not, that sound sent shiver down my spine.
"Quick!" He urged them while trembling slightly in fear. "Insert it quickly! We might not have enough time!"
Princess Peach nodded repeatedly as her face paled significantly. She hurriedly inserted the last key into the hole, but it was stuck. Slightly panicked, she began to jiggle it around and pushed it deeply, but still couldn't enter it.
"Just insert it!" Max exclaimed in frustration while Lily, who was hiding behind him, watched with worry.
"I tried! It can't enter!" She protested as she tried once again to push the key inside the hole, but failed miserably. "What's wrong with this key?"
The sound was getting closer. Max looked back and saw the silhouette. A large man wearing a hazmat suit could be seen. The suit was orange, and from within the visor, Flexy's face could be seen.
But it was clear that it wasn't Flexy. Its body was swelling all over the places. It also dragged something heavy, metal chains, across the floor. Behind it, it also brought a corpse. The body was pulled like a sled, blood trailing behind the skinwalker as it got closer to them.
Lily clenched Max's sleeve tightly as her teeth clattered in fear.
"M-Max, that... Is that Flexy?"
"Yeah." Max nodded, his face looked serious. "That guy bulked up real good. I wonder if Lisa knows about it."
— ...
— Is bulking able to make a person like that?
— Is he not scared anymore? I am scared and my ass is sweating because of this damn skinwalkers lolololol
— Lmao, that's a good joke!
— indeed, since when Flexy is bulking?
'I mean, what could we do anyway? It's better to laugh it off.' Max thought while a nervous smile was visible on his face.
Although he pretended to be okay, his expression couldn't deceive anyone. He smiled wryly as he looked at the large skinwalker approaching them.
'There is only one option.'
"Lily." He said as he looked at Lily. "I love you."
With that, he ran toward the skinwalker.
"Max!"
Lily's scream could be heard from behind.
— Oh! He's going to sacrifice himself!
— What a touching scene. Breeze is ready to get killed for Lily
— Go, Breeze! I know you can handle Bulking Flexy with no problem
— I trust you!
Click!
"It's open!"
At the same time, Princess Peach managed to open the door. Max was halfway to the skinwalker when he heard it. He immediately stopped and turned around while screaming.
"Holy! You ruined my scene!" He screamed loudly in irritation while pointing at her.
"Who ruins your scene! Aah, this is frustrating. Let's get inside!"
"Max, go!" Lily shouted at him before running inside the door with Princess Peach.
He didn't argue and followed them inside as he cursed in his mind.
'Stupid Peachy! Darn. If only she opened it a bit later, then that would've been perfect content!' He vented his anger as they ran down a long dark stairway. 'I already have a good idea for my next video and what does she do? Ruining my whole content!'
Dang it!
Anyway, he entered the door and closed it behind him. He breathed out a sigh of relief. Then, he opened his eyes and looked around.
Everything was white. He could see Lily and Princess Peach, but their hazmat suit had turned white too.
"What happened?!" Princess Peach cried out while looking at her hands in disbelief. "We're all turning white."
"You're right." Lily nodded before touching her visor in awe. "Even my visor is white now."
— They are entering white world
— I am white, ba da bee ba da baaa
— That was blue, id1ot! Not white!
— MY EYESSS! AAAH MY EYES! THE FLASHBANG OF WHITE
— I see we have someone who never saw sun in the past month here
— Oh, that was BloodSucker lolol. His eyes got flashbanged
Max also touched his visor while tilting his head.
'Is this some sort of cutscene?'
Just as he wondered about it, he heard a voice.
"Thank you for playing the game. We hope you will join us again. Rest well and have a nice day."
A feminine voice rang out across the entire place before everything faded into darkness. He heard a click sound. Max couldn't help but frown at that before wondering where he would end up after this.
Turned out they were moved to a place with chairs and a long table. Everyone was seated around it, including the fallen ones like Amelia, MadLad, and Flexy. Everyone was still in their hazmat suit, but their helmets were off.
"It's over?" Max muttered as he looked around.
He saw Flexy was looking pretty exhausted but alive and well. Unlike MadLad who looked miserable. Meanwhile, Amelia who was sitting beside him seemed to be having a headache. She massaged her temples gently while groaning softly in pain.
"Nah, I will delete this game." Flexy muttered.
"I can't take it. The jumpscare. The trauma..."
"Mouth mouth mouth mouth."
Amelia and MadLad were pretty out of it. They muttered endlessly, still remembering their last scene. Even though a few minutes had passed since then, they still didn't recover.
It was clear who the survivor was and who got traumatized. Or they just acted like they were traumatized so viewers would feel sorry for them. Who knew? Max wouldn't believe them if they said they really were traumatized anyway.
In the end, it was a fun game.
"Well, see you guys tomorrow! Have a nice day."
[Livestream Ended!]
With that, he ended the stream and sighed. He looked at his friends with an exhausted expression. It was amazing how he could stay sane.
Looking at Lily, he noticed that she looked back at him and smiled.
'Right. Let's spend time with her. She must be scared and exhausted.'
Max talked with the others for a while and logged out. Then, they got out of their capsules, changed their clothes, and went for some cuddles.
Comfy and warm, as always.
