Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe

Chapter 741: Prime Example

Nylian Feno was shocked by the sudden turn of events. He was standing right beside the towering black pillar that had golden caps on both ends.

Watching the intricate carvings of serpents as well as the faint runes shimmering under the light of the morning sun, he could immediately tell that this was a very precious treasure—far more valuable than anything he'd ever seen.

But something seemed strange...

Where did he get this artifact?!

That was his first thought.

How did he become a Mana Vortex Magus so quickly?!

That was his second thought. It was also one that was ringing inside the minds of all the Magi on the battlefield. It didn't matter whether they were from Ravenfell or Blackshore.

To be able to witness the birth of the youngest Rank 3 - Mana Vortex Magus in the history of Tron was a surreal expereicne entirely.

Regardless of these Magi's allegiances, only one thing bloomed in their hearts.

Admiration.

Even Brigham Flynn, who had conflicting emotions when it came to Adam, couldn't help but feel deep respect emerge from the bottom of his heart.

He now knew that with Adam's help, their chances of surviving this brutal bloodbath had increased significantly.

Daniel Ranzenberg gazed at Adam with a shocked look on his face. He had kept his eyes on this youth for several years now, and even he didn't believe that the youth was capable of such a miraculous feat.

To be able to become a Mana Vortex Magus before the age of thirty-five was an unprecedented achievement.

The name of Adam Constantine would forever be remembered by the people of this land.

He would be hailed as a generational genius, a prime example of what a Magus should aspire to become.

But for that… he would first need to survive this battle.

A dead genius is no different than any other dead man.

Daniel Ranzenberg's expression turned dark and he turned his attention towards his enemies while Adam was completing his summoning spell.

More specifically, he was looking for the Rank 3 Magus who was in a very miserable state—the one who had just been tossed from the sky.

Finally, his gaze landed on the pale necromancer. The man was coughing blood from his mouth and was slowly getting to his feet.

Daniel Ranzenberg's eyes flashed with a ruthless light and he unsheathed his blade. The next moment, he bolted towards the weakened necromancer, preparing to behead him in a single motion.

CLANG!

Right at that moment, Wendell Cross appeared before the necromancer, wielding his dual daggers and blocking the man's attack.

His lips curled up into a cold smile and he stated, "What's the rush, Magus Ranzenberg? How about you play a little with me?"

Daniel Ranzenberg's eyes narrowed, seemingly remorseful of missing the chance of killing the Rank 3 necromancer from the Cult.

The next moment, he radiated an overwhelming force of mana and engaged in a brutal melee with Wendell Cross, one of the three leaders of the Umbra Thieves.

Blades and spells collided against one another as the two gradually shifted thieir battle to a different part of the city.

In truth, it was Daniel Ranzenberg who had guided their battle elsewhere, fearing that the resulting chaos would severely harm the Magi from Ravenfell.

The moment Daniel had missed his chance of killing the cultist, Nylian Feno immediately pounced on that opportunity. Alas, by then the pale-skinned man had already recovered.

CLANG!

The necromancer easily blocked the elf's sword attack with his powerful gauntlets. "Don't look down on me, filthy bastard!"

Nylian's eyes narrowed, spewing immense killing intent. Then, he raised his free hand to cast a spell. But right at that moment, the one-eyed leader of the Umbra Thieves, Barnabas Booth also joined the fray!

"They say you're the prodigy of Saratoga, eh?" Said the bald, one-eyed old man, readying himself to deliver a deadly blow. "Let us test that out, shall we!"

Nylian's expression grew solemn, however, he did not retreat. He was confident in taking care of two Rank 3 Magi all by himself.

After, all he was someone who was at the peak of the Mana Vortex Rank!

He drew his second blade and easily blocked the one-eyed Magus's attack. Then, he turned his head and looked at Brigham Flynn before solemnly stating, "No matter what, do not leave Adam's side."

With that said, he and the two Magi attacking him shifted to another part of the city, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.

Although these two Councilors did not want to leave their positions, they had no other choice. If they chose to battle on the dockside, there would be severe collateral damages that would negatively affect their soldiers.

Brigham Flynn was gripped by nervousness and he couldn't stop his knees from trembling.

Damn you!! He cursed.

How was he supposed to buy Adam enough time to cast the summoning spell when there were three Rank 3 Magi from the Cult and one Rank 3 Magus from the thieves' guild standing before him?

He looked at Adam, who was calmly gathering mana with his hands clasped together, and roared, "Hurry, boy!"

Adam lowered his head and cast a cold and disdainful glance towards the old patriarch.

Just a simple glance was enough to cause a chill to crawl down Brigham's spine. The old Magus didn't have much time to think about the intent behind that gaze when all of a sudden Kissinger attacked him.

"You dare look away in such a situation!" He swung his poison-coated daggers at the old man.

But at the last moment, Brigham was able to activate the magical artifact that he was wearing around his neck. The one-time amulet shattered into pieces as it erected a powerful mana shield around him, effectively saving his life.

Kissinger, however, did not give up. His expression turned maniacal and he kept hacking at the old man. "Today, I will have my revenge, you backstabbing cunt!"

Due to the heavy onslaught of attacks, Brigham too was forced to move away from the dockside.

Now all that remained there were Ravenfell's Rank 2 Magi, but they were busy fighting the forces of Umbra Thieves and the Cult, as well as the hundreds of undead creatures.

Even the Magi from the Black Legion didn't have enough breathing room to even think about assisting their Lord Commander.

Seeing the lone figure of Adam standing on that strange dark pillar, Malcolm Morgan spoke with complicated emotions, "No matter how much I overestimated you… I still ended up severely underestimating you, Constantine."

He paused for a moment before adding, "I finally see why the Cult Leader is interested in you."

The next moment, he waved his hand, instructing the two Rank 3 Magi beside him. "Restrain him."

Without hesitation, the two necromancers from the Cult gathered a large amount of Mana in their hands and pounced at the dark-haired youth.

Within a few moments, they had crossed the large distance and were but inches away from him.

However, just when they were about to pin him down...

Adam's lips curled up into a smirk.
