Chapter 1205: Capturing Wizards
"I don't know why the Family Elders are scared. It's just a True Elements Society. No need for us to be worried," the lean, middle-aged man clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction.
"Maybe the elders are worried that someone could fish in troubled waters," the round-bellied, middle-aged man said in a solemn tone.
"Whatever!"
"We should leave this place quickly. I don't want to stay in this toxic area for long," the lean, physically fit wizard uttered.
"Yeah, this poisonous area is filled with unknown insects and plants. Most of the bugs were placed here by the Family Elders."
"Who knows what bugs they are?"
"I heard a wandering wizard was poisoned by an unknown bug recently. These unknown things are really scary," the round-bellied, middle-aged man said in a grave tone.
Just as they were chatting and laughing, the duo got closer to the poisonous forest. They had no intention of going inside to check the place.
They stood a few distances away from the entrance and started conversing.
Time passed.
Zero Puppet managed to find a safe route. Yet the safe route led to the two wizards. When the puppet got closer, it sensed the presence of the two wizards.
The puppet recalled the command given by its master. So it immediately turned around to leave. The safe route had already been memorized by it.
But things don't always go easy.
The round-bellied wizard was an earth elemental wizard. Even though he was not actively using magic, he could sense the sudden movement on the ground. It occurred at close proximity.
"Something's moving," the round-bellied wizard alerted.
"What?"
"Is there any lower-order monster lair here?" the lean, physically fit wizard asked. Find more chapters on My Virtual Library Empire
Then both of them exchanged looks. Though neither of them was serious about their job, they couldn't choose to ignore something happening in front of their eyes.
"Let's go and explore," the lean, physically fit wizard uttered before using wind magic.
The trees and bushes that were hindering their view were cut in half. Then both of them saw someone escape into the forest.
"There is a suspicious person here. Let's go and capture him," the lean, physically fit wizard said before chasing forward.
The round-bellied wizard started following him from behind.
Boom!
Zero Puppet realized that it had been exposed to the enemy. It increased its speed to return to the master. Behind, the wind spells were striking empty spots.
Meanwhile,
Inside the Gregor Mansion, I was feeling bored. With a thought, I appeared outside and decided to find poisonous plants to study.
There was exactly one growing on top of the mound: a dark green plant. At first, it didn't look poisonous, but the fragrance from the plant was repelling.
To verify, I used the system's problem function. The next second, the status panel showed that it was indeed a poisonous plant.
However, it was dangerous only for lower-order monsters and wizards. I didn't have to worry about it. Just as I turned around to search for other plants.
[Ding! Warning]
[Two Level-8 Wizards detected]
A mechanical voice sounded in my mind.
My expression turned serious. I then turned towards the direction from which a disturbing noise was coming.
Shortly afterward,
Zero Puppet arrived. I immediately touched the puppet and appeared inside the Gregor Mansion.
"Master, I have found the safe path. But I was exposed to hostile wizards while retreating," the puppet replied.
"Good, I'll take care of them," I said.
Then I realized that I was still wearing the True Elements Society uniform. So I immediately changed clothing and wore the common dress of a wandering wizard.
Then I put the mask on my face.
Outside,
The lean, physically fit wizard was frantically looking around near the mound. Earlier, his spell attack had caused smoke to rise, covering his vision.
But before he could clear it, the suspect vanished from sight.
"What happened?" the round-bellied wizard asked.
"I lost him. The suspect must be a Level-8 wizard," the lean, physically fit wizard replied, his face contorted.
He hadn't expected this to happen.
"Then we must find this person; otherwise, the elders will punish us," the round-bellied wizard panicked.
Swoosh!
The next second, I appeared behind them and cast the 4th stage of a magic spell instantly.
"Gravity Field."
A powerful gravitational force appeared out of nowhere and acted on them. The two wizards were startled by the sudden appearance of an enemy.
Boom!
But they were pressed by the powerful force the next second, planted directly into the ground.
Argh!
The pressure was causing both of their bodies to break. The round-bellied wizard started to scream like a chicken. The lean, physically fit wizard suffered miserably. He had been weak to begin with.
He felt both of his leg bones shatter. This all happened within seconds.
On the other hand, I decided to leave them with their last ray of life. I would interrogate these two people.
After a few seconds, I dismissed the magic spell. Then I found both of them lying unconscious in a pool of blood.
I grabbed their bodies and appeared inside the Gregor Mansion.
Tud!
I threw their bodies in the middle of the hall. If I killed them, their location might be traced by the Anderson Family, which would be unfavorable for me.
Since I had captured them, I couldn't waste time here. I immediately removed the valuables and storage bracelets from their bodies, leaving them only with their clothing.
Then I gave healing potions to both of them.
About a few minutes later,
Their complexions turned rosy. The round-bellied wizard regained consciousness first. When he opened his eyes, I smiled at him.
"You!"
"Who are you?" he shouted out loud.
"If you don't want to die, then answer my questions," I said to him.
The round-bellied wizard became scared. But he was still in a dying state and couldn't afford to offend the person in front of him. When he saw his friend lying next to him, he became even more frightened.
