Chapter 1149 Stella's shock
Verdant City,
The Transmutation Wizard is lurking inside this medium-sized city. After the killing of 2 guards, he was laying low. He has been expecting some kind of reaction from the True Elements Society.
Just as he expected, powerful mana breath appeared from time to time. The powerful wizards above Level 7 are monitoring the place.
His instinct wants him to give up the idea of retrieving the item. As long as he is alive, he can start the experiments from scratch. He can find another foreign item.
Yet the old man is blinded by anger, betrayal and revenge. He was on good terms with the dead stall owner, Sam. Now, both of his items had fallen into someone's hands. He couldn't take it easily.
As a member of the Transmutation Society, he feels he should not retreat when facing a similar powerful organization.
It's just he couldn't find any clues regarding the thief. According to the guards' confession before dying, he entered the stall without permission.
If he was sent by the True Elements Society, there is no need for this stealing act. He had the authority. He could have walked in directly.
But that person stole it. Which made him confused regarding the identity of the thief. He has decided to spend a few more weeks to find the item.
If he doesn't succeed by then, then he has to leave.
...
From MC's Perspective:
The Following Day,
I woke up earlier. After completing the morning routine. I went to take a shower. The bath lasted for another 15 minutes
Then I started getting ready. I wore a uniform shirt and pants. The mage robe on top of the shirt.
Buzz!
All of a sudden, my communication watch receives a notification. I turned towards the notification and read it.
"50,000 credit points," My eyes flash with surprise.
"For 100 credit points, I can have 10 hours to use the mana chamber. So with 50,000 credit points, I can use it for one month," I said to myself.
Then I decided to start using the mana chamber from today. My stats were stagnant after the Breakthrough. The mana core has yet to show any progress. I'm hoping today there will be some changes.
A few minutes later,
I left the room and walked out of the dorm building. The other department's students were going about their business.
No one is seeking to cause trouble here. Then I started walking towards the Floating building.
When I arrived at the entrance, I found my classmates in front of me. Upon seeing me they become unusually silent.
"Vincent"
Suddenly, someone called out my name from behind.
When I turned around, I found Dimitry walking towards me. He seems to be upset. His facial expression shows everything.
"What happened?"I asked.
"I want to talk to you alone," Dimitry replied.
Hearing that, I found others were looking at us.
"Let's go inside," I said to him. After scanning the ID, we walked inside.
The other students were looking at us. They noticed that Dimitry was the only one in the class who spoke to me.
"Ignore them, there is a vacant lecture hall nearby. We can discuss it inside," I said to Dimitry.
Then, we walked in the opposite direction of our class. Soon, we arrived at another lecturer's hall. Currently, no one is using it. I have always found it vacant.
We walked into the room and shut the door behind us.
I used the system to scan the place. After seeing the place was safe, I turned towards Dimitry.
"Okay, Dimitry. Can you tell me what happened?" I asked.
"People from the Beast Taming Department followed me to the Dorm Building after the class," Dimitry said.
I furrowed my eyebrows. These people are lawless.
"In which dorm building do you reside?"I asked.
"Dorm building 20," Dimitry said.
Hearing that I realized not all the dorm buildings are located in the same area. It spreads across the Organisation Territory.
Similarly, there are dorm buildings for female wizards and staff. The True Elements Society has a huge land mass.
"Well, we can go together today. Let's see then what they are up to?" I replied.
Dimitry's eyes lit with hope. Seeing his reaction, I sighed inwardly. Then, we both returned to our lecturer's Hall.
Time passed,
The first lecture comes to an end an hour later. Everyone is ready for the second lecture.
Meanwhile,
The Intelligence Tower Head, Stella, appears at the Floating Building. Her arrival alarmed Paul Lin and other elders in the office.
Swoosh!
Paul Lin vanishes from the spot to greet her. He learnt what happened in yesterday's council elder's meeting. So he was grateful to Elder Stella.
When he appeared outside.
Stella's gaze fell on him. She said, "I have something important to discuss "
"Elder, you can come with me," Paul Lin said.
Then, both entered the Floating Building. They appeared in Paul Lin's office the next second.
"Elder, please take a seat," Paul Lin said before bringing the Silver Box from the storage bracelet and placing it on the desk.
Stella's eyes narrowed. She found Paul Lin to be quick-witted. He had already guessed I would be coming for the material evidence.
Stella sat on the seat and looked at the Silver Box.
"So this the box which contains foreign organs," She said in her heart. Then she thought of something
She asked, "Did he open it?"
"Vincent Carey?" Paul Lin uttered.
Seeing that Elder Stella nodding her head, he continued, "Vincent heard the murmurs. The Transmutation Wizard was talking to himself in frustration at that time."
"I did say that the report was credible during the meeting, and there is no need to doubt it. Since I'm here, I ask you the same question."
"Were his statements true?" She asked.
Paul Lin narrowed his eyebrows. He had guessed this would happen eventually.
He smiled and replied, "Not only me, Supreme Wizard Phylia, trust his words as well. After her words, I submitted the report."
Stella's eyes widened. No matter how she tries to appear calm. But her expression gives it away. Her heart was in turmoil as well.
She looks at Paul Lin to see whether he is joking or not. But upon seeing his smiling face. She feels it's true. For a second, she praised herself for not picking the side of the Aristocratic Faction.
Who is Phylia? She is the Starlight Wizard of the True Elements Society. She is one of the known pillars, infamous throughout the Ancient Redwood Country and beyond other Super Nations as well.
She is also the Main Elder behind the Special Mage Department. She was once joined and grew up in the same department.
Now she has her own Magic Palace. She was busy with her research. Stella didn't expect to hear such astonishing information by coming here. This information is nothing less than that of any secret information.
She is the Head of the Intelligence Department. She also feels why Paul Lin chose to reveal the truth to her. Since the Supreme Wizard is behind the newcomer Vincent Carey.
No way, they can treat him as a regular student. Besides, there is also that kid's sponsor, the Mage Union. The kid's identity is catching up to heirs of aristocratic families and other Wizard Clans.
After calming her heart, she asked, "As per his information, we have tried to draw a picture of the killer's appearance. Yet it's nothing compared to the memory of one who saw it in real life."
"I need Vincent Carey's assistance. As long as he helps the Intelligence Tower to find the culprit. I'll give him rewards and credit points."
"As the Intelligence Tower Head, I assign the task to the Special Mage Department. I hope he accepts it," She said before standing up to leave.
She has heard shocking news today. If those Aristocratic Families find out, then they would stop their little calculations.
Paul Lin smiled and replied, "Don't worry elder, I'll inform him."
Stella nodded before vanishing from the spot. When she was gone from the place.
Paul Lin's smile disappears. His expression turned serious. There is a reason why he spilt some secrets. He thinks this would provide some security to Vincent Carey.
Most importantly, this would convince Head Stella that she did right yesterday. Because of the Supreme Wizard Phylia's support, the Special Mage Department is not afraid of the Aristocratic Families.
Otherwise, they wouldn't have accepted Vincent Carey in the first place.
Time passed,
When I finished attending all of the lecture classes, I decided to go to the Mana Chamber Facility. But Dimitry stopped me from leaving.
"Why are you going right now?" I asked him.
"Yes, I have picked up a task. By earning credit points, we can get resources here," Dimitry replied.
Hearing this, I feel like I have a headache. Don't tell me I have to babysit him.
"Dimitry, I'm not going to always protect you. You have to fight against them at one point as well," I said to him.
"Don't worry, I understand. It's just their numbers are higher. If it's one vs one, I don't need your help," Dimitry said.
