Chapter 401: Chapter 323: The True Beginning!

Chapter 323: The True Beginning!

In the Primordial Era, the reputation of Nuwa was unparalleled. Even the mightiest Saint, Hongjun, could not compare to her in this regard. This was because many beings in the lower echelons of the Primordial World, lacking significant power, had no knowledge of who the strongest figures were. They only knew to strive tirelessly for survival. Yet, everyone knew Nuwa.

Nuwa accomplished two feats that were highly admired: repairing the heavens and creating humanity.

These two monumental deeds brought Nuwa an immense amount of merit, cementing her current status.

---

[Tathagata]: "The Mending the Heavens Art ranks only eleventh? Just how powerful must the techniques ahead of it be? Is this a problem with the rankings, or will we see results beyond anyone's expectations?"

With Tathagata's level of insight, it was impossible for him not to recognize the extraordinary nature of this technique. Precisely because of this, he believed that it should at least make the top ten without issue.

Yet, contrary to expectations, this technique ranked only eleventh, falling short of the top ten—a position that usually represents a significant leap in rewards. This baffled even Tathagata, who could not comprehend how so many divine techniques existed that surpassed what was already known in the Primordial World.

The powerful and renowned techniques of the era had been well-documented, leaving little room for surprises. Tathagata had his predictions for the rankings but could not have anticipated this result: Nuwa's Mending the Heavens Art ranked only eleventh.

---

This technique was undoubtedly one of Nuwa's strongest abilities. Although it couldn't be used frequently, it was one of her trump cards. However, it had no combat utility.

Even if Nuwa's power fell short of other Saints, none of them dared provoke her.

Tathagata wasn't alone in his thoughts. Many others felt that the Mending the Heavens Art deserved a higher ranking. They also couldn't fathom what could possibly surpass it.

---

[Haotian Jade Emperor]: "Logically, the Mending the Heavens Art could even be in the top five, and no one would object. Its position is completely justified. This technique is too unique—there's nothing else like it in the entire Primordial World!"

Because of its uniqueness, the Mending the Heavens Art stood apart from all other techniques. No other technique could surpass its distinctiveness.

Furthermore, only Nuwa could perform this technique. Not even other Saints had the capability. This fact further highlighted Nuwa's greatness.

---

Sun Wukong, upon hearing these discussions, felt a peculiar sensation in his heart.

[Sun Wukong]: "At first, I didn't understand the origin of this technique. But from what you've said, I now see… Still, I can't shake a strange feeling!"

Hearing Nuwa's name brought Sun Wukong a sense of familiarity. This was because fragments of her Five-Colored Stones, used to repair the heavens, had scattered.

One of these stones absorbed the essence of the sun and moon, eventually giving birth to a monkey—Sun Wukong himself.

Thus, Sun Wukong and Nuwa were deeply connected. If not for her Mending the Heavens Art, Sun Wukong would not have been born, nor would he be here today.

However, Sun Wukong had been unaware of this. He only knew he had emerged from a stone and was surprised to learn of its intricate origins. Despite this, he felt no particular connection to Nuwa.

For Nuwa, the stone was a mere byproduct of her actions, something she would not have paid attention to. Even now, though Sun Wukong had made a name for himself, Nuwa still had no interest in him.

Saints, after all, could learn anything they desired unless the Heavenly Dao deliberately concealed it. Yet Nuwa had no inclination to investigate Sun Wukong, leaving her ignorant of his origins.

---

Some, however, did know.

[Fuxi]: "Sun Wukong, you still don't know your origins? You were born from a Five-Colored Stone left behind during Nuwa's Mending the Heavens. It absorbed the essence of heaven and earth, the sun and moon. Without Nuwa's actions, you would not exist!"

Fuxi had deduced this long ago, as the Heavenly Dao did not conceal such trivial information. It was easily discoverable.

Even Nuwa herself felt a tinge of surprise upon learning this. She had not expected that a leftover fragment from her Mending the Heavens could give birth to a monkey.

Though she didn't know what had transpired, it was clear that considerable time and effort were involved in the monkey's evolution. This realization made her feel a slight fondness for Sun Wukong.

After all, he was a seed she had inadvertently planted. Though unintended, it was still a result of her actions and carried karmic significance.

---

[Nuwa]: "So that's how it is… No wonder he seems faintly familiar. But his appearance is so irritating that I never cared to pay him much attention."

[Tathagata]: "Please rest assured, Saint. I will ensure that Sun Wukong receives proper guidance!"

At this point, Sun Wukong was still trapped under Five Elements Mountain, undergoing his trials. This was only the beginning—he still had the arduous journey of eighty-one tribulations ahead of him. Tathagata's declaration to guide Sun Wukong implied his inevitable role in the Journey to the West.

Still, this had little to do with Nuwa. Though her fondness for Sun Wukong grew slightly, he remained an unfamiliar figure to her.

Even if Sun Wukong were to face further challenges, it would not elicit much of a reaction from Nuwa.

Tathagata's intervention, however, irked Nuwa. She had never held a favorable opinion of the Buddhists, especially Zhunti and Jieyin. Outwardly virtuous, these two were secretly manipulative, always scheming. Thus, Nuwa remained cautious around them.

---

Even Sun Wukong, upon hearing this information, was astonished. He didn't know how to react.

Tathagata's words, however, only provoked his anger. Still trapped under the Five Elements Mountain, Sun Wukong felt helpless as Tathagata openly discussed him with others.

Restrained, he could only feign grievance.

[Sun Wukong]: "I haven't done anything wrong! You're the one who trapped me here. If you were smart, you'd let me go!"

Sun Wukong attempted to leverage Nuwa's influence but quickly realized it wouldn't work.
