Chapter 175

upon hearing what Noah just said Serenity's eyes widened in shock, her mind reeling from Noah's accusation. She turned to Ethan, her face a mix of confusion and disbelief.

"Ethan, what is he talking about?" she asked, her voice trembling. then face Noah .

"And why are we in this isolated place?"

Ethan remained calm, his gaze fixed on Noah. He took a step forward, his hands raised in a gesture of peace.

"Noah,"

he said, his voice steady and measured.

"You don't know what you're talking about. I haven't done anything to you."

Noah let out a harsh laugh, the sound echoing through the empty space.

"Haven't done anything?"

he repeated, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

"You left me for dead in that warehouse, Ethan. You had the chance to finish me off, but you didn't. And now, you're going to regret that decision."

Ethan shook his head, his brow furrowing.

"Noah, listen to me,"

he said, his voice urgent.

"Whatever happened between us in the past, it's over. I don't want to hurt you, and I certainly don't want to involve Serenity in this."

But Noah wasn't listening. He took another step forward, his eyes blazing with fury.

"It's too late for that, Ethan,"

he snarled.

"You brought Serenity into this the moment you decided to associate with her. And now, she's going to see you for the monster you really are."

Serenity looked between the two men, her heart pounding in her chest. She had never seen Noah like this before, so filled with rage and hatred. And Ethan... she couldn't believe what Noah was saying about him. Ethan, a killer? It didn't make sense.

"Noah, please,"

She said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Can we just talk about this calmly? I'm sure there's been some kind of misunderstanding."

But Noah ignored her, his focus solely on Ethan.

"There's no misunderstanding, Serenity,"

he said, his voice cold.

"Ethan is a killer, and he's going to pay for what he's done. And you're going to watch."

Ethan tensed, his mind racing as he tried to find a way out of the situation. He knew Noah was dangerous, and he couldn't risk Serenity getting caught in the crossfire. He had to find a way to diffuse the situation, to make Noah see reason.

"Noah, I'm telling you, I did nothing to you,"

he said, his voice firm.

"Whatever you think happened, it's not true. I'm not a killer, and I never have been."

Ethan was saying all of that was because of Serenity, he doesn't want her to see anything that is going to happen here.

At that moment Noah's lips curled into a sinister smile as he watched Ethan's calm facade.

He believed that Ethan was merely pretending, putting on an act for Serenity's benefit.

In Noah's twisted mind, Ethan's composure was a sign of fear, a desperate attempt to conceal his true nature.

"You're afraid, Ethan,"

Noah taunted.

"You know that your time is up, and you're trying to hide it from Serenity. But she'll see the truth soon enough."

Ethan remained silent, his eyes never leaving Noah's face. He knew that any attempt to argue or defend himself would only fuel Noah's delusions.

Suddenly, Noah threw his head back and laughed, the sound sending chills down Serenity's spine.

"Oh, Ethan,"

he said, his voice dripping with malice.

"You have no idea how long I've waited for this moment. To have you at my mercy, to watch the life drain from your eyes as I take my revenge."

Serenity's heart raced, her mind struggling to comprehend the horror of Noah's words. Again she opened her mouth to protest, to beg Noah to see reason, but before she could utter a word, a group of men emerged from the shadows.

They moved with a swift, silent efficiency, their faces obscured by dark masks. Before Serenity could react, they had grabbed her, dragging her away from Ethan.

"No!"

she screamed, her voice raw with terror.

"Ethan! Noah, please, don't do this!"

Still Noah ignored her pleas, his focus solely on Ethan.

"Don't worry, my dear Serenity,"

he called out, his voice sickly sweet.

"I don't want you to see the gruesome details of Ethan's demise. But know this: he will die by my hand, and you will be left with the knowledge that the man you trusted was nothing more than a cold-blooded killer."

As Serenity was dragged further and further away, her screams echoing, she felt a sinking feeling of dread in the pit of her stomach. She couldn't shake the fear that Noah might actually succeed in his twisted plan, that Ethan might truly meet his end at the hands of a madman.

As soon as Serenity was out of sight, Ethan's demeanor changed. The calm, concerned facade he had maintained in her presence melted away, replaced by a chilling smile that danced across his lips. It was as if a switch had been flipped, revealing a darker, more sinister side of his personality.

Noah watched Ethan's transformation with a mixture of confusion and unease.

He had expected Ethan to be afraid, to beg for his life, but instead, the man seemed almost amused by the situation.

Suddenly, the sound of something heavy hitting the ground broke the tense silence.

Noah whirled around, his eyes widening in shock as he took in the sight before him.

Three lifeless bodies lay on the cold concrete, their limbs splayed at unnatural angles.

At that moment Ethan recognized them immediately - they were the security men who had been following him from a distance.

Ethan's mind was still calm as he tried to make sense of the scene before him. Who had killed these men? And how had they done it without him noticing?

At that moment the man from the silver secret organization stood beside Noah, his expression grim and determined.

"You have nowhere to run, Ethan," Noah said, with a deadly voice.

"We have you surrounded, and there's no escape."

The man from the secret force nodded, his eyes never leaving Ethan's face.

"You might as well give up now,"

he said, his voice cold and emotionless.

"There's no way out of this for you."

However Ethan merely smiled, his eyes glinting with a strange, unsettling light. He seemed completely unfazed by their threats.

"You're right,"

Ethan said, his voice calm and measured.

"I have nowhere to run to."

Noah and the man from the secret force exchanged a glance, a flicker of uncertainty passing between them.

They had expected Ethan to be afraid, to beg for his life, but instead, he seemed almost amused by their attempts at intimidation.

At that moment Ethan took a step forward, his movements slow and deliberate. "But you see,"

he continued, his smile widening, "I wasn't planning on running either."
