God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.

Chapter 737: Tower Warden (2).

With a grunt, Cain stepped on the air again, abruptly changing his direction and bringing his blade down again.

This time, Collosus blocked with the shield in its other hand.

'It's good.'

Using the momentary lapse Cain had created, both Evangeline and Roselle rushed in.

Roselle said across the ground like it was made of ice. Petals of concentrated ki blossomed around the hilt of both her rapiers before she stabbed them into the giant stone Knight's shin.

With the blessing of the beast God, her ability to perfectly channel her physical strength was nearly unmatched, second to none.

It amplified when ki was added in.

One of her primary skills allowed her to concentrate all the momentum and power she generated into a very small area, like the sharp point on her rapiers, or the edge of her blade, making them incredibly lethal. Read latest chapters at My Virtual Library Empire

It did come with a downside; if she made even the smallest of errors, her weapon could explode in her hands.

The tips stabbed into the stone greaves the Bloodknight wore. Dust and stone bits exploded out as shrapnel. A large hole with cracks spreading out from the center had appeared in its shin

Staring at the damage she did, she couldn't help but be disappointed.

That disappointment disappeared as fast as it appeared and was replaced with stubbornness. A growl escaped from her throat as she gripped her weapons even hard her and thrust them forward again and again.

On the other side. Evangeline turned into a shadow, appearing at the side of the stone knight in the blink of an eye.

She stabbed her dagger into the other shin of Collosus. Surprisingly, the dagger sank right through the stone armor and into whatever lay beneath it.

Her eyes glowed a vicious crimson as she twisted the blade and a torrent of blood and shadow elemental mana exploded out of it.

The Stone Knight was thrown off balance. Cain took the opportunity to viciously smash his sword against the visor of Collosus, striking it thrice in quick succession.

Chips and cracks appeared on its helmet.

'A chance!'

Not wanting to lose momentum, Cain decided to pull out all the stops.

He began chanting under his breath.

Collosus didn't continue taking the beating either. It was a Celestial-grade Tier 1 entity after all. Stomping against the ground, it immediately threw both Evangeline and Roselle off balance.

The crimson glow in its eyes became a notch more terrifying. Its already oppressive speed seemed to increase.

Cain felt its blade about to reach him in the blink of an eye. Raising his blade to block again, he found himself shot out of the sky and launched right into the ground again with a bang.

Collosus didn't seem satisfied as it struck down again. Jenny's timely bullet came again, forcing Collosus to block with the flat of its blade.

Cain spat the blood out of his mouth and grinned.

He was already done with his incantation.

A burning orb of concentrated flames appearing his hands. They burned with sweltering heat that turned the sand around him black.

All around him, magic circles blossomed open.

Several more burning orbs appeared.

Cain pointed his open palm at Collosus.

The orbs streaked through the air like missiles, crashing into the giant Stone Knight.

Flames rose into the sky as the giant was pushed back.

It was precious time bought.

Seeing this, Evangeline and Susan also began chanting.

An enormous crimson magic circle appeared behind Evangeline, powerful blood elemental mana surged and filled the air.

It was so dense, it made the world around feel like a living, breathing organism. Her crimson eyes, her perfect white hair, and her cold expression made her look like a goddess descended from the sky to punish the mortals below.

"Blood Manipulation: Crimson Scourge."

A beam of concentrated blood elemental energy shot out of the magic circle at the Stone Knight. Sensing the danger, Collosus brought its shield up and blocked the eradicating beam of crimson energy.

Evangeline's eyes widened, and the density of the stream of blood mana increased.

Meanwhile, Cain never stopped firing the {Flame Orbs}, each one exploding upon impact, releasing intense flames and heat.

With him attacking from one side, and Evangeline keeping the pressure from the other, they had Collosus completely locked down.

Susan finished casting her spell as well. A magic circle appeared above the heads of the others. Cain felt a surge of energy fill his body.

The injuries he had suffered beforehand were immediately healed, and his lost mana was being replenished. He assumed the same was true for Evangeline.

Jenny on the other hand, began charging up a super shot. Each of her bullets were incredibly dangerous. That was why Collosus made an effort to make sure they didn't strike it in a vulnerable area.

Now that it was locked down, she could very well defeat it with a single bullet.

She had to make it count.

Roselle charged forward, repeatedly striking its shin and knees, weakening it from below.

The {Stone Bloodknight} was being whittled down gradually.

Eventually, it fell to its shattered knees, courtesy of Roselle.

Jenny's eyes widened. The runes across the body of her rifle lit up with magnificent light. Gripping tightly, she squeezed the trigger again.

A beam of purple energy shot out of the nozzle as she was knocked back, falling to her back.

The beam, which was a supercharged mana bullet struck Collosus right in the forehead.

The giant's head was thrown back, and its visor exploded into pieces of rock.

"Got him!" Jenny said through gritted teeth. The force behind that shot had almost dislocated her shoulder.

Cain stopped pelting the Stone Knight with {Flame Orbs} while Evangeline deactivated her spell as well.

The Stone shield was absolutely destroyed, and the side of the stone knight Cain attacked was blackened and crumbling.

'Is it over?'

Surely, it couldn't be. A Celestial-grade creature wouldn't be defeated so easily, that he was certain of.

Sure enough, the body of the {Stone Bloodknight} shook, and it slowly rose to its feet.

Apprehension filled their hearts as Stone Knight smashed its greatsword on the rim of his partially destroyed shield.

It's visor has been completely destroyed by Jenny's shot, so they were able to see its face clearly.

As expected, the creature's flesh was made of stone.

However, it was a smoother, more refined stone, not like the seemingly brittle stone that was used to make its weapon and armor. It was like marble...

Its face was eerie and inhuman, and its glowing crimson eyes were filled with brutality and an unholy coldness.

After smashing its sword into the rim of the shield, it suddenly threw them both away.

Cain watched, in both amazement and shock as the enormous Stone Knight began stripping off its armor as well.

Within seconds, all its armor had come off as well and had fallen to the ground.

Cain turned to Evangeline, wondering if this was the best time to launch at attack. Sensing his gaze, Evangeline turned to him and shook her head.

'I thought so...'

He could sense very clearly the aura of death that had suddenly surrounded the Tower Warden.

It was telling him simply, 'Make a move and die.'

The Stone Knight thrust its hand into the ground and pulled a piece of armor out.

This piece of armor looked to be made of the same material its body was made of.

"Shit!" Cain immediately understood what was going on.

It was already too late to escape, and they couldn't attack it while it was 'transforming'.

He cursed over and over again in his mind.

Once it was done putting on the rest of the armor, the {Stone Bloodknight} looked different from before.

Its armor looked polished and sharp. The engravings and runes on the armor were more defined and detailed.

Once it was done picking up its armor, it plunged both arms into the ground again.

Following its arms out of the ground was a shield and a sword. They were quite similar to the old pair in shape and size.

However, just like the armor, both pieces were more refined and detailed.

The blade looked sharper, like it was made from actual steel. The shield was like a divine aegis that would not let anything through. Swords and spears would shatter against it, regardless of how sharp or powerful they were.

For the final time, it reached into the ground and pulled out a helm. This one was rather different from the original.

It had two horns jutting out from the sides, and the visor looked like the face of a rider from hell.

Placing it upon its head, the {Stone Bloodknight} looked more domineering than ever.

It smashed its blade against the rim of its shield again and pointed the top of the blade at them, as though beckoning them to try again.

"You've got to be kidding me." Roselle said, her voice trembling.
